Come to the foot of the bed, raise up the axe and split my skull. When I am dead, eat of my flesh and you will be strong enough to wander the woods on your own and return home.

disability advocacy went wrong when it became about inspiration porn and “differently abled” and savants. its incredible that that guy with no legs did a triathlon but your sister with no legs will not and she doesnt need prosthetics or five hour training days to deserve respect and compassion and accommodations. its incredible that that autistic guy can look at a city from a helicopter for an hour and then draw the entire detailed skyline from memory when he lands but your autistic friend cannot and they dont need to have a special Autism Power to deserve respect and compassion and accommodations.
activism framed around “we are just as CAPABLE” means that when people genuinely are less capable they are left behind. activism framed around “we are just as WORTHY” is fundamental to radical compassion.

The fact that this was right after Junior Year meant that everything that happened in JY was 100% intentional and I absolutely love them for that
Beardsley continuing to be a senior, knowledgeable ttrpg player at the table like, "oh I just get out of there," "do you have another token to blow up?" it's like I've followed them from a high school jv team to the world series

I just started watching Dimension 20’s Fantasy high, halfway through sophomore year, and I do want a fic where people realise just how used to being part of a group the bad kids are. For example-
-I fully believe every single one of them is used to Riz climbing them so he can see better. It’s usually Gorgug, but it’s happened to all of them at some point. They might hold out their arm for him to jump onto a counter, or so he can pin a clue to his board. Before they all sit at a table, at least one of them makes sure their 4’4 friend can jump onto the table.
-Every single one of them has also caught Adaine after she had a vision. Sometimes she can just shake them off, but the big ones make her falter in what she’s doing, which can be dangerous. It happened once in a fight, and now the people standing closest to her are always ready.
-Fabian doesn’t really recognise he has a blind spot with his eye injury, because the others immediately clocked it. But this also means they walk in between him and the road, in case some idiot mounts the curb. They keep an eye on anything to his right, shifting drinks and pushing chairs if they can tell his depth perception is a little off.
-Fig usually stands in the middle of the group to intimidate people into not messing with them, so it’s sort of become habit to just crowd around her. After the battle, if no one’s seriously hurt or anything, everyone just wanders over to Fig. At this point, Fig is always the first one to yell out after a fight, just so they can regroup.
-Gorgug is the go-to for lap-sits, leaning, anything to do with being physically supported by another persons body. His hoodie is soft, and his headphones are loud enough that you can kind of hear it if your leaning on him. His parents weren’t great with nonchalant physical contact, in case he was already upset, so he takes great joy in his friends not being scared to hug him for fun.
-Kristin has left her staff at every single house she could with the bad kids. She leaves her bag in classrooms, the library, the cafeteria. Whenever the group leave somewhere, they do a full scan, because Kristin has probably left something and they grab it for her. No one has any clue who her bag actually belongs to, because all of the bad kids have been seen carrying it around school several times.
The school at large know who the bad kids are, and the town recognise them, but they still don’t know why all of them double check a room before leaving, or collectively carry a small stool around with them. One student with a fantasy iron deficiency faints in class and Kristin catches her before she hits the ground. Once, Fig isn’t in school for a day and all the bad kids have this restless energy about them. It is not uncommon to see them on the field during lunch, curled up in a pile on Gorgug. One guy tries to surprise Fabian from the right and gets body checked by Adaine before it even registers.
It’s sort of uncomfortable for everyone to see any of them without the others, because it means a) the rest of them committed a crime, b) the rest of them are committing a crime, or c) the rest of them are about to run in and start planning to commit a crime. And no one wants to lose their plausible deniability here.

I think part of what made Fantasy High so beautiful is that Brennan was acutely aware that DnD was new not only to (a part of) his players, but also the audience. So he looked them in the eyes and said take my hand. This is how magic works. Also. An important thing. In here. We go batshit. There's an entire dimension in your jacket and they do not want you to ask follow-up questions. Your principal just shot someone in the head. Your god is real and he loves you but also he's kind of a loser frat boy. This man is getting his magical powers through the power of No Fap. Rock music is the source of immaculate conception. Don't be scared to create literally anything with me, you are safe here. Not from the rōmænce partner you lied about having but. From the judgement of the cruel mistress we call reality. Look at me. Laws are threats and the police is an occupying army and we will get ice cream.

In Episode 9, after they discover Lucy's body, Kristen attempts a Divine Intervention 'reaching out' for Cassandra, and 'hears' Cassandra's voice saying "Spies, tongue, curse".
gotta ask, watching the newest Fantasy High ep and I don’t remember when they heard about Spies or Spy’s tongue curse, does anyone know?

I find it unfathomable and astounding that Tumblr isn't more obsessed with Sam Reich. You're telling me there exists out there a man who was born into the aristocracy of our country—with every privilege of modern society at his fingertips—who didn't complete high school (due to his mental health) and instead chose to devote his life to making strangers laugh and raising awareness on mental health. A full-bearded short king who is so committed to being the change he wants to see in the world that he decided to take the company he worked for into his own hands so that he could make sure all the people who worked under him could keep their livelihoods.
How many other CEOs are out here being as honest and transparent with their target audience/market as Sam Reich is? How many of them acknowledge when they fumble and continuously strive to be better than they were? How many of them actually seem like they respect their talent, both in the cast and crew? Sam Reich is the standard we should be holding other CEOs to.
But forget about all that (I could talk for a long time about the respect I have for Sam Reich)—ignore just how respectable he is as a businessman and a person. Ignore all the wholesome reasons for obsessing over Sam Dalton Reich.
The man is a stone-cold fox.
He's a little chaos gremlin and an absolute evil mastermind all rolled into one classy suit and well-groomed beard. Whenever Sam is on the set, you can guarantee he is going to make you crack a smile. And for someone with such natural authority, he's never afraid to be the butt of a joke and show himself being embarrassed. Go ahead, watch any clip of him trying to improvise in No Laugh Newsroom and just try to resist that blush.
You're sleeping on a goldmine of a man, here, damnit! And I will NOT let this go ignored any longer!

I would also recommend watching the rest of the intrepid heroes seasons in order. They make small callbacks and references in later seasons that can be fun to catch, but mostly it's great to watch how much they grow as players (especially Ally - them in Starstruck is a trip if you know their prior history of plays).

"A revenant has only one year to exact revenge. When its adversary dies, or if the revenant fails to kill its adversary before its time runs out, it crumbles to dust and its soul fades into the afterlife"
In the first episode Tula tracks the present time as "...you keep track of this perfectly. You know we're hitting the middle of fall. You're now reaching that point where you've got to start stockpiling things, because the first frost is coming, and soon."
She died last winter.

TW: depression, suicidal ideation
I think Brennan was looking at Izzy when he said that, referring to Lila's dad.
Also in the insight into yourself scene after that, Aabria describes Tula's thoughts as "your mind drifts back to the thing that I don't know if you've ever put words to or ever really sat in... ...why did you come back? Geoffrey didn't come back". So Geoffrey had already died when Tula did.

If you're fine with watching episodes weekly, definitely Fantasy High, because you have about a month to watch both seasons in time for Junior Year in January, and half the fun is watching along with everyone else and seeing real time reactions and theorizing etc.
