Man’s body dissolves in Hot Spring in Yellowstone
Tumblr media
On June 7, 2016, Colin Nathaniel Scott and his sister Sable Scott were visiting the Noris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone when the two siblings decided to venture off the boardwalk that was set up to give visitors a safe view of the area. Their plan was to go swimming in one of the hot spring’s pools. They had moved 700 feet from the boardwalk when Colin decided to check the temperature of one of the pools. As he was kneeling down to test the hot spring, he slipped, and fell into the nearly 200 degree boiling water. Sable Scott ran for help immediately, but its believed her brother died shortly after falling in the hot spring. Search and rescue personnel arrived later to find Colin floating in one of the pools, along with his wallet and flip flops. However, they could not retrieve his body due to a thunderstorm. Recovery efforts were continued the next day, but at that point, they could not find any of Colin remaining. They believe his body had dissolved in the highly acidic scorching water. They were able to recover a few personal effects, there were no remains left to recover. Rescuers said it was unlikely any remains would be found due to the extreme temperatures of the basin.
At least 22 people are know to have died from hot spring related injuries in and around Yellowstone since 1890.

John Wayne Gacy, Jr. terrorized Cook County, Illinois, as “Pogo the Clown.” Between 1972 and 1978, Gacy murdered at least 33 young men and boys. In 1980, forensic artists were hired to reconstruct the faces of the unidentified victims. After the forensic artists finished reconstruction of a face, it was photographed and spread throughout the media in hopes that someone would recognize the victim(s).

The slaughter room of Meiwes. Meiwes posted an advertisement on ‘The Cannibal Cafe Forum’, stating that he was looking for a ‘well built 18-30 year old to be slaughtered than consumed’. Bernd Brandes answered the advertisement in March 2001. The two made a videotape when they met on March 9, 2001 in Meiwes’s home. The video consisted of Meiwes amputating Bernd’s penis as they attempted to eat it together before Bernd’s death. Meiwes gave him large amounts of alcohol and pain killers, 20 sleeping pills, and a bottle of schnapps. He was killed in the slaughter room. After stabbing Brandes to death in the throat, he hung the body on a meat hook, tore chunks of flesh from it and tried to grind the bones to use as flour. Meiwes ate the corpse over the next 10 months, storing body parts in his freezer under pizza boxes and consuming up to 20 kilograms of the flesh.
According to prosecutors, Meiwes committed the act for sexual pleasure.
