Ever wanted to listen to just the instrumental music from my Detective Pony videos without the video or dialogue? I've made an AO3 work as a central place to post links to that!
You can listen on AO3 via the embedded SoundCloud player, or stream or download from the SoundCloud site. I've also included the link to the old Box download site on the list (those are lower quality mp3 files, but maybe that's useful for someone so I'll leave 'em up).
#@nefola-real#thanks for the nudge!#I'd been meaning to do that for a while#detective pony#music#how many variations#of Beethoven's Turkish March#can you listen to in one sitting?

leads only to him tearing the narrative apart at the seams, both in Detective Pony and in post-canon. sonnetstuck did such a brilliant job in capturing Dirk's, whether it be his persona or his true self. Moreover, Naked Bee put so much time and effort into the videos. Detective Pony, as written and preformed by fans, is a labour of love. Which is fitting, for Detective Pony was a labour of love for Dirk as well, a birthday gift for his dear best friend Jane. I love Detective Pony. 4/4
<3 Thank you for this lovely set of asks!!

The amount of time that Dirk within the meta-narrative of Detective Pony to address the level of irony or sincerity put into the work feeds back into this continuous loop of Dirk vs the ideal persona he wants to be. Is this not a endless, if all be it meta, fate that a Prince of Heart would be contained to. If feels disheartening to have Ult!Dirk exist, but yet the Prince of Heart's endless battle to understand and better himself 3/4
I too, wrestle with Ult!Dirk - I am so happy to be able to read all of the various interpretations other fans have written on the subject. I am slowing coming around to this trash prince!

This isn't even discussing the why that the approach to writing so perfectly enraptures the idea of Dirk's character present to us in Homestuck, but is never given a true chance to be seen in canon. (This being mostly due to it's monster of a cast.) But even the idea that the version of Dirk we see in Detective Pony, is the persona we are told Dirk wishes to present himself as, but never achieves in doing so makes Detective Pony feel all the more real. 2/4
Ugh, yes, this! Detective Pony is so good at getting at the contrast between Dirk's character as the reader sees it versus Dirk as he sees himself. So! Good!

Discovering this blog reminded how fucking good Detective Pony is. Like, just the dorky surface level jokes get me. That's not even starting on the more meta and long form humour. The ability to shift between the vernacular of a teenage boy making fun of a book for 10 year old girls, to long prose discussing the philosophy of early 2000s memes, is unrivalled. 1/4
I am always here for Detective Pony squee! @detective-pony / sonnetstuck's jokes are hilarious and the tonal shifts are masterful!

in the most genuine and affectionate way i saw your maplehoof doll/recreation and I really really want to throw it against a wall which is the 100% A+ stamp on recreating Maplehoof from the comics because i Also had the impulse to Throw her then too, it looks really nice and is something from homestuck i never would have considered to remake into reality. hope you have a good day dude the hair on the maplehoof is really cool looking also
Awwww, thank you anon! This is very sweet. Toy!Maplehoof is very sturdy and would 100% not mind being thrown against a wall, I think. Also, I'm glad you mentioned the hair - it was my first foray into re-rooting hair and I was pretty proud of how it turned out!

I awoke this morning and started the tea and gathered the ingredients to make waffles, absently scrolling through my podcast app, looking for something new to listen to.
I noticed the "new episode" mark on H:TIU. That's strange, I thought. I thought I'd listened to them all already. I had such fond memories of listening to that podcast while filming Detective Pony. But it's been on hiatus for a while - I'd stopped actively checking for new episodes ages ago.
Imagine my surprise and delight when I clicked through and saw the full title. Detective Pony! I love Detective Pony!
The water had boiled and I started the tea brewing while looking for the right measuring scoop for the flour. I pressed play.
Then I had to squeal and jump up and down a little as I listened and realized this episode was not just about sonnetstuck's brilliant fanfic, Detective Pony, but also about my humble movie version!?!?!?
Dear podcasters, you have made my entire week! Thank you for all your kind words. I am utterly delighted. :)
While I'm pretty sure the rates I would have to charge to accept a commission to make a Barbie Ulysses would be unreasonable, I did love the suggestion of Barbie-movie adaptations as a literary teaching tool. I would love to see that! I also hope that if anyone does make a Detective Pony video game, they link me immediately. The ideas you discussed sound super fun!
Thank you again!!

To the anon from the UK: I've prepared an envelope of a few flat/lightweight things for you. I can’t say how long they will take to arrive, but hopefully they’ll make their way to you eventually. Enjoy!

Can we really trust John’s gospel, though? After all, the gospel isn’t the Word of God, it’s the words of man. The written words of man. Christ was the Word made flesh, but Adam and his descendants weren’t.
