One thing I found interesting about the Ramil and Paytai flashbacks is realizing all of the ways Ramil has attempted to protect Paytai.
He tried to directly stop Rachata - failed.
He tried to use his authority with the guards - succeeded temporarily, but clearly failed long term.
He tried to misbehave when Paytai was away - failed.
And now he's promising they can hide him skipping training from Rachata, which is likely to fail too.
Ramil, my dear, it is time to face facts. There is only one surefire way to protect your baby.
(I cannot believe we actually have a gif for this, god I love tumblr)
#killing your evil father is an important part of every bdsm relationship#because you can use it for roleplay material down the line#and I think that’s beautiful

You've gotta love Jews more than you hate Nazis.
You've gotta love trans folks more than you hate TERFs.
You've gotta love your unhoused neighbors more than you hate the billionaires.
You've gotta love immigrants more than you hate ICE.
You've gotta love queer kids more than you hate christian fundamentalists.
You've gotta love fat people more than you hate the diet industry.
You've gotta love disabled people more than you hate the insurance companies.
You've gotta love your fellow humans more than you hate the worst that humanity has to offer. You don't have to like every person you're fighting for, and you sure as hell don't have to give up your righteous anger, but hate is ultimately corrosive.
You've gotta love.

Controversial kpop stan take but I think maybe we should stop making people’s crazy homophobic takes into copypastas, and instead go back to our roots of spamming fancams at homophobes and fascists (but not on people mourning their dead relatives because that’s not funny, you’re chronically online)

hello!! i really wanted to get back into the ateez lore it's already VERY confusing and the fact that there isn't much explanation out there (or I couldnt find it) isn't helping. so do you have anything that I could refer to?? thank you<33
Hi Anon!
I recently caught up with the lore with the help of these resources and a lore tutor who put together a very comprehensive syllabus that really worked for me! I've been recapping my journey through the lore under the tag #thirst gets lore-pilled but I have only written up to Fever Part 3.
I would start with ateezstoryline.com ! They have all the diaries and links to relevant videos. I suggest @atiny-for-life or @bunnakit for more in-depth coverage. @TinyBugInk on Youtube also has some great videos full of fun theories and speculating.
I'm going to borrow a bit from the syllabus that my lore tutor provided, since that really worked for me!

I'm going to quote @loving-that-officey-feel who gave me some great disclaimers going into this process:
They have a habit of showing us things long before they tell us what they actually are. Which is why I put some things on the list purely because it has the sense of 'this is a loose thread that has not connected yet but we will probably see again'.,
This also means the diary entries are often talking about the stuff we've seen in previous mv's. Like stuff we see in Treasure is explained in Fever diaries. Stuff we see in Fever is explained in World diaries... so we know some of what's going on in Golden Hour, but I am 100% sure there are also other things going on that they're currently keeping under their hats,
the longer we go on, the more clearly important Halazia gets, but because we still know so little about how it fits in the universe/timeline, the imagery around Halazia is almost more important because that's the only thing we've got to go off of how it connects to everything else at this points,
they do a lot of storytelling just with their visual vernacular. Color temperature of light, repeating visual imagery, (which is why all lore-tiny's are kind of unhinged because the point is to connect 'I saw this thing back here which is now repeated in the new mv over there' and figuring out what the connection tells out about the story and the timeline. Which is why I always pay attention to all the trailers they give us, even if the surface it just seems like 'visuals pretty'. Nah man, everything is deliberate with these dudes,
once you get caught up on the storyline, you'll realize that every single song on every single album has essentially two meanings. The meaning of if you know absolutely nothing about ATEEZ and you are just casually listening to a song and take the lyrics at face value, and then an entirely different second interpretation where if you think about the lyrics in the context of the point in the lore to which that album belongs, it is about that part of the lore.,
GOOD LUCK!!

Or, lest we forget, Cottagecore 🙏🏻🥲
There’s certain hobbies and interests that aren’t inherently conservative or regressive but do attract a lot of people who are those things or worse and when you’re a progressive person involved in those hobbies hearing that someone else is interested in your hobby usually has to involve some “But are you normal about it?” conversations before you get too excited

Okay so there is something that has been bothering me for a while based on something I saw on Pinterest, I saw someone make a post about how "respecting but not supporting" is (I'm paraphrasing the whole thing) just homophobia that sounds pretty, The entire comment section was filled with religious people who had no queerness to them at all defending themselves and it was so frustrating how they think they have any right to determine if something isn't homophobic, how they think they have any right to determine if our existence isn't something that should be considered right and I fucking hate it I hate having to pretend like I give a damn about respecting someone's "opinion" that my existences is an incorrect way to exist when they clearly don't respect me otherwise they wouldn't care that I'm trans and they'd just use my preferred pronouns
Religious people have no right to say we're wrong for existing, that our existence is a sin when our existence is older than their religion, when our existence predates their beliefs, when we exist outside of our species but they don't
It pisses me off so much how they think they're so "holier than thou" because they "respect but don't support us" they don't respect us if they don't support us they just tolerate us and keep their mouth shut about how they think our existence is wrong they don't have to worry about anything queer people have to worry about
And honestly I mean this for every single religion not just Christianity I think you can follow whatever religion you want if you say "I respect but don't support because my religion says it's wrong" I think you're an asshole and I don't want to be in your company if you think my existence is wrong go fuck yourself I don't want your respect because you have no idea what it's like to be queer and you have no right to determine that you are above us, that you get to decide if we are worthy of respect because that's what it sounds like when you say that like you're being so gracious for respecting us, that you're risking your salvation for respecting us but can't risk supporting us
I have such a clear memory from when I was 13 of my grandmother who is very Christian telling me that "she loves me but doesn't love that part of me" referring to the fact I was very openly and loudly queer by that age, I remember her trying to make me hide it around my younger cousins(who she has custody of) because apparently my existence isn't age appropriate, I couldn't be openly queer around my little cousins but their abusive parents could see them whenever they want, I couldn't talk about being trans around them, couldn't go by my preferred pronouns around them, but their parents who had(in that same year) grabbed one of my younger cousins by the head and pulled him so his head was upsidedown while in my lap to scold him for something small? They can be around the kids as much as they want whenever they want
But it's not homophobia when they say "we respect but don't support" right? It's just seeing someone's existence as inherently sinful and still deciding that you're gracious enough to not be cruel to them for
Fuck all of you who think I'm just being hateful by the way, fuck all of you who are looking at this post and already thinking about how you're going to lecture me on how it's wrong in your religion but you don't think it's wrong to be queer, if you didn't think it was wrong you'd support queerness
#thank god I’m not the only one talking about it#please get this post on Pinterest for the kids with strict parents to see before it’s too late

was talking to my dad (noted occasional user of chatGPT) the other day and realized most people don't actually understand the logic of generative AI. He brought up that test thing where they showed that chatGPT was quite bad at chess and he said it surprised him and i basically, was kinda a dick, and said i could have predicted LLMs would be bad at chess in two years two years ago. I was being honest. He really seemed to think i was mocking him for lacking some obscure technical knowledge, but no, this is BASIC and INTEGRAL to the technology. An analogy I use is that we all need to be able to predict cars. If you are driving, you need to be able to predict the speed you'll gain from pressing on the gas pedal on any given slope or surface, or you will in fact rear-end someone. As a goddamed pedestrian you need to know the space cars need to break, to turn, etc. You do not need to be able to fix an engine. I am not expecting technical knowledge. I am expecting an understanding of how this shit works.
The industry actively works against this goal. LLM manufactures really want the investment of idiots who have no clue what the next feature will be. They want users who expect this stuff to get better, who think long term investment in the ecosystem is a good call. They do not benefit from educated people.
So uh, why does chatGPT failing at chess not surprise me?
ChatGPT is based on training. It is predicting upcoming words. It basically views the chat session as an incomplete char log it is finishing. It has a hidden set of instructions, but those are just words before the chat. It understands nothing. Does this mean it is stupid? I mean yes, but no, it can know quite a lot of stuff. how can we predict what stuff it knows? Well, there are a few rules (This is entirely unresearched and is just the set of rules I use).
there must be training data. Large volumes of text of the sort LLMs are trained on often lack enough listings of chess games to teach actual good form, and certainly do not show examples of translating between chess boards and into notation or the other way around. Why do we need such a large volume to "learn a skill"?
There must be volume, with contingency. LLMs do not learn like humans. If you are being taught how to make tea or something, you can work with an instructor. The instructor can show you steps, express complex ideas like "only check the closet if the tea is empty", etc. You only need a single good walkthrough to get an idea, and you can practice so you remember longer. This is NOT how LLMs work. They receive massive volumes of examples. If the instructor checks the closet during the only example, the LLM will do that always, if they do not, the LLM will never and will do unhinged things after finding no tea. They need enough many examples. They will need enough context to notice the example person always checks for tea and goes to the closet when they find none. If there are varieties of tea, room layouts, etc, you need VAST amounts of training data. The possibility space of chess is simply enormous. While large neural networks seem kinda able to fill in gaps between training sessions, the comprehension of all of chess is too large of a gap.
There must be an interface to accomplish this task. LLMs are language models. Understanding chess as language makes very little sense. Chess notation is a compressed storage system, chess boards are not language. So, how does chatGPT generate images? How does it remember things from a long time ago? How does it program video games for "vibe coders"? Some asshole at openAI made a system for it. It hands off the task to an image generation AI (which follow very similar rules), it uses RAG systems to get tokens from long ago, it uses the MCP to interface with external systems, etc. These are not holistic intelligences, they are fragmented apps plugging together solutions for problems.
They will not beat dedicated systems. ChatGPT is not a general purpose machine. It is fundamentally a text-prediction machine stretched too thin. It is widened through extensive training, fine-tuning, and more. It cannot add two 10 digit number reliably. It may understand addition to some degree, but implementing long addition is hard. It will perform better when asked to show it's work, because it can then implement algorithms. However, many algorithms rely on calculators. What is the square root of 17? No clue, but once it's time to estimate, a $4 calculator can cover me. chatGPT does not have that luxury. Chess AIs (which is a reasonable thing to call them imo) are fantastically advanced. They use concepts like game-tree-search fully unavailable to LLMs. (game-tree search means you can list your possible moves, list all possible responses, list counter-responses, etc. This means you can do things like assume you and your opponent will make good moves, a find a move that leads to your opponent having few good moves, or you having really good responses to good moves. Your immediate intuition about the quality of a move may be imperfect, but thinking ahead and applying that intuition a few layers in is really effective.)
point being, we can predict this stuff (without massive amounts of technical knowledge). LLMs can do wild things outside of this, but usually because some asshole at openAI glued something on. If they glue on a chess engine and a calculator, i could eat my words, but they never have.

I need to stop making my ocs siblings with other people’s ocs, bc I love making ocs who were abused by institutions (like forced to be assassins from a young age or something) but my friends can’t match my energy so now I have a bunch of characters whose family dynamics are like “here’s so and so my wonderful overachieving son, here’s so and so junior the wonderful light of my life, and this is TRASH boy and he SUCKS get a load of this loser”
#I’m out here trying to create the next Ramil Buchongpisut#and then my friend turns up like ‘here’s his well loved brother who lived a good life and gets along well with his parents and elders’#wHAT#anyways#my post
