I don’t think I was ever a true jakola tbh. It just annoyed me to see the people who ignored their relationship or who hated them for no reason so I defended them. They look happy together and that’s amazing and at the beginning it was exciting to guess if they were together but their relationship doesn’t interest me that much. Not anymore at least.

I’ve been scrutinized by Jakolas whenever I imply I still ship Nic and Luke even though I know she is in a relationship and I respect that. Nic’s fans say I’m nıot a real fan when I say something criticizing Nicola and her overreactions. Luke’s fans claimed that I’m not a real fandom because I criticized the way he handled his relationship in public. Lukolas claim I’m delusional to admit that Nic is in a relationship with Jake.

Yeah the more I think about it I think Nic's constant friendzoning especially since the tour ended of Luke has more to do with Jake than anything. Which look I get it, I mean I will speak from my personal experience, I had a relationship with a guy friend similar to Nic and Luke's and our dynamic sort of shifted depending on whether one or both of us were in a serious relationship. Like I remember I had one bf who really was uncomfortable with our dynamic and made me feel like I needed to put boundaries up with my friend. The emotional closeness we shared remained the same but I became much less touchy with him, which is what I see with Nic. Like I think she probably has Jake on one end who she loves and feels like she owes something to as her partner but she also has Luke who she also loves and has been a part of her life for a long time and it's sort of a struggle for her maybe to figure out how to not jeopardize anything in her relationship with Jake but also preserving the special friendship she has with Luke. So I do understand, but I will also say that if your dynamic with a friend has to change to accommodate a romantic partner then I don't really think you're just friends and that's all it is.

Honestly I have a very simple take on this whole situation. I think Luke has been down bad for Nic for a long time but she doesn't feel the same. I think potentially she could've had a crush at some point or some lines were blurred but it was innocent for her, Luke not so much, guys are very very obvious when they are into you I think every woman knows that, you will be able to tell, for me he gives all the signs that he has feelings for her but tries to hold them back bc he knows or assumes she wouldn't feel the same way. So I don't really think it'll ever happen with them but I do think Luke will forever be a simp for her lol. Just my hot take.

Sorry I'm gonna go on a bit of a rant lol. I feel like a lot of the time people make drama out of something that isn't dramatic lol. I have seen so many damn theories about Nicola following Antonia. When in reality I think Antonia was in LA with Luke and because Nicola is a very important person in Luke's life and they are genuine friends they were all hanging out and for the first time Nic actually got to properly speak with her. Simple as that. Do I think the timing is odd considering that Antonia had already tried follow Nicola? Yes. But honestly my take on the current situation is that I think press tour time there were a lot of blurred lines and I think Nic and Luke probably took it too far and things were confusing but they maybe never talked about it. I think now that more time has passed and they're both settled in other relationships I think there are more clear boundaries between them (most likely from Nic's side) and the dynamic has shifted slightly, although not in a bad way, just different a tiny bit. I think maybe Luke still harbors feelings for Nic and has trouble controlling himself around her but I don't think Nic does for him honestly right now, but in the past I think she has had feelings. I think she loves the shit out of him but whatever might have come up for her I think she's worked through and moved past. I understand that Nic friend zones Luke and now is saying he's just a friend but I can't forget a lot of what I saw on the press tour, you have to admit things were way more blurry during that time and answers were vague as to if there was something more between them. People need to remember that relationships ebb and flow, including Nicola and Lukes. It's going to continue to evolve but I think that deep kindredness and understanding they feel with each other will never go away. The people they are with now may not be who they are with forever. I just say let time do its thing and for now just enjoy whatever they are willing to share of their friendship.

I also think some people are operating in this mindset that feelings and attraction automatically equates to a relationship. But a relationship is a choice between two people and you have to be compatible. I think even if there are feelings between them it doesn't mean they're going to date. Personally I don't think they've ever seriously considered it. I think during filming and press they got VERY wrapped up in everything, probably flirted a little too much, and maybe blurred some lines but I think that's as far as it goes. I mean they are friends who clearly care a lot about preserving their relationship and they work together on a hit netflix show, it's not as simple as people are making it out to be. For me as cute as the shipping is I wish people would stop pushing it so hard bc it must be difficult for them to feel like they can't really show their friendship in a genuine way in public. Although they seemed very comfortable at SAG and not overly stressed I do think especially Nicola holds herself back with Luke a bit now. I do think they feel probably an inner struggle to maybe want to share more like they used to but whenever they do it cause chaos in their lives so it's better to protect their peace. At least we know bts they're good.

I'd like to point out that based on what we've seen of these relationships Nic and Luke are in there is a very low likelihood they will last in the long run lol. I mean never say never but I have a sneaking suspicion these people aren't who they end up with even if it's not each other. So truly people freaking out over them is pointless, we all know they're there it shoudn't be a surprise anymore so it's better to just keep it demure and let those two idiots sort their shit out themselves. We just get to watch the show for free.
