A Doodle on the Screen and a Doodle of Thoughts (Of Desiring Control)
I had a funny interaction on Instagram and felt the urge to make this doodle.
An extremely long ramble below the cut, but to everyone who just stops here, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week. ❤🕯
[[[WARNING: LONG READ BELOW CUT]]]
And now that we're below the cut, so it begins.
The existential madness that Sky has driven me to has had me learning a lot about the Human Condition and how people move through a spectrum of helping and hurting others and themselves.
And one of the central overarching Themes I've been studying is of the concept of "Control".
I've come to realize a potential statement for myself about life:
"The source of all human misery is the desire to Control their circumstances."
Tumblr media
Everything you ever feel in terms of loss, passion, and desire, is felt because you have invested different levels of Control into those aspects of your life.
This isn't a bad thing, but rather just an objective study of what makes us want to hold on to things, to keep things, to protect and defend our beliefs and personal morals and attributions.
Realizing this ended up helping me begin to craft an understanding of the Spectrum of Connection vs Indifference that I've been endlessly pouring over.
Through these philosophies that I have extracted from the Core of Sky's messages, I have then taken it all into myself, and applied it to mistakes and trials that I would actively Experience in real time.
My research on what Control is and what it does to our lives on both personal and societal levels has been a direct reaction to realizing that, in so many ways, I have often lived life refusing to Love. In identifying that an obsession with Control is what caused me to not Love others and Connect to them, I've been able to grow.
All because of my research for Sky over this past year and a half. It has been a long process, and it won't ever be done, but Sky is genuinely transforming me into a better person, more and more. It's likely Jenova Chen and those who shared his Vision would never hear my story, even when it is more complete, but I just have to thank this experience for being what I needed. And the best way to thank Sky, is to keep working on being a better and better example of Connection every day. I owe it to every person I've ever hurt, and every person I'll ever care for, to keep learning. 🕯️ 🕯️ 🕯️
Tumblr media
"So why am I still here?"
Is a question I think about quite a lot as these years go by.
Okay, so you've learned a valuable lesson from life and that's wonderful. But... it's over now, right?
Why can't I let go? After all, it's just a game. It's just a story. It's just a community. You've been through plenty of those. Why this one? Why are you so caught up? Why are you still here? Every single other person takes in Sky as a brief-to-annual hyperfixation, then either moves on or idly holds onto it as a keepsake. And yet, after everything you've been through, after all the things you've done... you're stilll here.
Is this not Control? If you were to actually Love yourself, would you not take the leap to let go of these things that could have been abandoned already?
"What does Sky mean to you?"
I think it's crucial to see that all this talk of meaning and hidden layers is a Projection. I look for the nuance because I am nuanced. I am never satisfied with a lack of meaning to validate my place in the universe... because I have been constantly unsure of where I stand at all.
Tumblr media
"To Find Purpose"
I remain because I can still use this Space as a Framework, to further Understand, to continue to Define what Purpose is and what I want it to be for me. And so I will do that. Not out of Love just for myself. But out of Love for a world that is far greater than just who I am as a person. Not Sky. But Our World. Our hurting world, damaged and broken by Control. I want to understand more about Control, and those who work so hard to maintain it. I think this can be important. And even if it wasn't 'productive'? I will have Loved anyways.
Take care, be aware, be conscious of what you try to Control, and reach out to others, out of Love, out of Connection, not because you are obligated to, not because "it's healthy for you"
But because this universe is full of Love. You are Loved, everyone, and you are Love. Take care everyone. It will turn out alright. ❤❤❤❤❤🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯

I've spent the last year endlessly panning over TGC's work, understanding the source material and what their mindsets were when creating Sky, and here's a brief post on what I consider to be the most important investigation that I contribute to the Lore Community!
The foundational Theme over all other worldbuilding motifs in Sky, is "Connection". Throughout his entire career, Jenova Chen has been obsessed with this word, and says it constantly in many articles about each of TGC's games. You see, every single game that TGC has created are each a different expression of this idea that, in life, all things are connected, tied together, and that all life coexists and works together to create and form the universe we live in. But this Connection, this intrinsic "cosmic web" that ties us all together, is TGC's understanding of "love". Through participating in Understanding that we are part of communities that are greater than each of our single Beings, we are remaining Connected to each other, and that Understanding is Love.
Tumblr media
Halfway through Sky's development process, TGC had decided that there would be a Spectrum represented: of Connection and Indifference. This "Connection Spectrum", as we've called it before, was invented for the sake of visualizing the impact the Ancestors (the living mortals that built a kingdom but turned into Spirits when snuffed out by Darkness) would have on the Natural, Connected world of The Light.
This Spectrum would embody many things.
- Care vs rejection
- Tradition vs technology
- Humility vs hubris
- Acceptance vs control
- Faith vs doubt
Whether or not Darkness will be chosen to be an "ancient natural force" or not, what matters to Sky's "main" story is that Ancestors influenced Darkness to spread across the world, harming The Light, and harming Nature and Connection.
Using emotional backdrops in their concept presentations, TGC decided that, effectively, the Ancestor's hubris would be the primary cause of the spread of Darkness.
This disregard, this refusal to love and care for their world, and instead to control and hoard power for themself, is what destroyed their own kingdom.
Tumblr media
Rather than seeing the universe as a battle of equal and opposing forces (Light and Darkness), this Connection Spectrum is designed to suggest that all things exist within a scale of engagement or detachment.
1. Connection is the force that binds, sustains, and integrates. It is the will to engage, to acknowledge, to form relationships and create meaning.
[All done!]
2. Indifference is the force of severance, neglect, and detachment. It is the rejection of engagement, the failure to acknowledge, the choice to let bonds weaken and dissolve.
Tumblr media
I feel that continuing to explore these Themes as foundational concepts that design everything about Sky will help us Understand so much. ❤️ 🕯️
Tumblr media
But now, how and where do we implement these philosophical ideas into Sky, and what in Sky's physical world is inferred by each side of the spectrum? That's what we really need to keep asking. You can see Connection and Indifference everywhere within both Sky's world and the real world, if you try. In the people on the news, the people around you, and even within yourself. I have been no stranger to Indifference, isolating myself in places like this silly blog, and being hypercritical of everything around me.
We need to learn to Love; to care more about our Connections with people and the world around us, and what that means to us.
I need to learn to Love more. And that starts with letting go of Control. We're going to stop being so desperate here. I'm afraid that there will be no more systems, no more attempts to be the one to find The Answer. I'll post however, whenever, out of Love, not longing. Thank you for being here, and I hope that this means something, but I'm at least glad it meant something to me. ❤🕯

Short fic below the cut
Golden Wasteland
Once known for being the cornerstone of industrialization, now a haunted ruin. This was my home. Not necessarily beautiful - at least not by many metrics, I hear - but it was undoubtedly majestic. And damn it, I thought it was beautiful. This is where I grew up, all of my formative memories are here, this place was - is - everything to me.
Many of our dead lie here, beneath the sand and rubble. Between war, dragons, shard eruptions, and the dark illness, most have presumably been destroyed or are well on their way. I'd be lying if I said I had any real numbers, though.
The horrors didn't stop with the initial blast of what we now call the Shattering, instead, the blasts continue on a semi-regular basis. We can almost accurately predict the eruptions by now.
There's also the dark illness. A corruption, a cancer of sorts. It starts small, it can even go unnoticed for some time... but once it has hold of you, it slowly takes you.
We are all working on ways to honor the dead and dying. We don't know what the next life will hold for them, or whether they even pass on. All we have left of most are calcified husks, some already showing signs of wear from exposure to the elements, many damaged beyond recognition, and still so many more buried or destroyed entirely.
Our days aren't all gloom and mourning, though. Life persists. We learn to evade the dragons. We're trying to study the effects of pollution and how best to avoid it. We mend the wounded and tend to our ill and dying. We're rebuilding homes and community spaces from the rubble. Maybe it's not too late for us, after all. Besides, we're the golden society's toughest warriors, smartest engineers, and most adept boatsmen (and fishermen!). We don't give up and, most importantly, we survive.
Golden Wasteland, my home. May we live - and past mere survival, once we've grown old and weary and finally decide it's our time, may our souls live on to tell our tales. Light be upon us.

Once, you took everything.
Once, I would drown in the suffering you left for us.
Once, I would hear the cries of my kin.
Once, I'd fear the act of going back in.
Once, I'd cower against the onslaught.
Once, I'd suffer the cacophony of the Storm.
Once, I'd feel your eyes glaring from the horizon.
Once, I'd have believed we'd never reach you.
Once, we thought we'd never find a way.
But now? Now I'm ready.
This ends here. This time will be different.
This time?
We just won't die today.

"Hey, can I ask a question?"
"What is on your mind, my friend?"
"You believe that the Light has designed us with Intention, right?"
"Yes, that's true."
"Everything about us, every little quirk and difference we feel, every emotion we bear, every touch of the world against our hands?"
"Everything about you has been beautifully and wonderfully made. There is nothing in our design that has ever been a mistake."
"Everything that we have ever felt; the Light in the Sky wants us to feel?"
"They want you to experience, to love, and to learn to care. Every little thing that has happened to you, good and bad, is important. This has always been the Point."
"But then...."
"What is it?"
"Why does it... Why does it want us to suffer?"

The Entrance:

Does it look like there might have been a built-in waterfall to anyone else?? Like that straight indentation follows the whole top of the roof to the center of the doorway. The question to me then becomes... regular water or dark water?? If not a waterfall, what else do we think it could be?? The triple-embedded diamond is also interesting to me, as are the rays shining down like the sun from it. I assume it's a motif of the Eden diamond. Also, the statue isn't centered with the building and it drives me nuts. Speaking of...

I LOVE to hear about someone approaching the canonical connotations that Ancestors and Descendants likely do not have a very expressive face, and were likely Created with no musculature for uniquely showing emotions!
This is exactly why our Expressions are primarily through body language and body movement, and there is plenty of reason to believe that it was (at least somewhat) the same for the Ancestors too.
We either don't have mouths at all, or the area where our 'mouth' is is likely completely inflexible.
Skyblr is doing AMAZINGLY with visual lore concepts recently, and I just love to see it ❤️🕯️

Mufo is KILLING IT with Lore posts!!!
Tumblr media
An Exposition on Anatomy.
The placement of the Soul is incredibly important to each Being's anatomy, due to Connection to The Light (the megabird) being so crucial to maintaining one's place and purpose within the Soul Cycle.
We can observe some notable correlations to these themes of Connection, the Soul Cycle, and the Purity of Natural Beings through the Soul's position in a Being's body, so let's take a look.
[[[Long read ahead!!!]]]
Everything from Mantas to Jellies store their Soul within the top of the head. The reason for this forward-facing placement lies with their Purpose in the Soul Cycle; to give themselves willingly to the Light...
Tumblr media
This can be viewed as
Submission: surrendering of their core
Directive: homing, intention
They present themselves openly, unashamed, unafraid, selfless, and confidently.
Which showcases just how strongly the orientation of their core strengthens their Connection to the Light! They are both -focused and -willing to bring their Experiences back to the collective, and this is made possible and Natural through their design.
Such beautiful and intentional anatomy. 🕯️♥️
But how intentional could the design of the Ancestors be? I have long been a fan of the idea that Ancestors were accidentally Created. And yet Mufo illuminates a fascinating concept; that Ancestors (and then to that effect, Spirits) are also wonderfully designed in their own way! So let's abandon my personal bias for a moment and imagine.
If The Light did intend to send these humanoid Beings down into the world as they were... then surely they intended for their Connection to the Light to be weak, but their capability to harness the World to be strong. Perhaps from the very beginning of the kingdom, the Light had intended for the humanoid Beings to go through all of that pain and wonder and triumph and death. If the Megabird's objective truly is to gain Experiences, then what greater Experiences are there... Than via the ups and downs of human civilization.
Voiding the philosophy (I'm sorry about all of that) we can see a very direct reasoning for the "How" of the formation of the humanoid Being's anatomy. All creatures of Light form slowly and gently within the clouds and the sea, after Light particles float from the Sky and rest in those bodies. (It is a prevalent theory that water + Light equals Light Creature)
But Descendants began as Stars, and Ancestors possibly did as well. The Light of both of these Beings likely Fell down, rather than floated down. When Light crashes to the earth from the Sky, the shell is created, possibly instantaneously. Using the earth around it, the Light reacts to the violent crash and impulsively takes form in order to obtain a defensive position.
Tumblr media
This immediate reflexive motion creates an immediate developmental psychology in the newly-born Being. They are selfish, in stark contrast to the creatures. They fear, cower, and isolate, afraid of exposing themselves, afraid of giving themselves up.
Before the Being can really even 'think', these emotions flood its Soul, and give way to these... These instincts.
It raises arms it didn't realize it could have until it uses them, and pulls it's legs in tight even though it had never had legs before. Through this instinct; this impulse: it has become humanoid. It is Unique.
Tumblr media
And lastly, candles. Mufo's concept works perfectly for Spirits, but as for living Ancestors, we can't know for sure if they could summon candles. They do not have an orifice on their chest that the Soul Flame visibly leaves from in the same manner that Descendants do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Two Embers trailers that have been released, we have only seen the scholar control Light that had been contained inside of lamps or pots or the like. I think this leans heavily towards proving that Ancestors were not able to use spells that conjured effects using Light projected from within the body; they have so little Light already!
This is super exciting for me since I've theorized for years ever since Enchantment that Ancestors could only use spells via collected Light, rather than personal Light.
Tumblr media
This would mean that half of the spells that skychildren and Spirits are able to use likely didn't even exist during the kingdom's history! Very interesting.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for giving me more motivation to write. I really need it and seeing others in the community have at it really helps so much. We're making so much progress ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
(Transcript included at the bottom of post.)
Tumblr media
The Spirits, unlike other creatures of light, had their light located on the inside of their bodies.
This feature had its advantages and disadvantages. Their body served as a barrier to environmental threats, but it also served as a barrier to each other. In other words, Spirits couldn't recharge their light by being near each other the same way other light creatures can.
For a long time, the Spirits overcame this drawback by using portable light sources like torches and candles (hence their symbolic use as currency). The Spirits later learned how to move their light outside of their body, forming the basis of magic.

Spot on!!!
SO glad to see Skyblr's lore community going so strong recently 😭 it actually makes me so happy I can't
Some of our first in-game mentions of the prince/Ruler's path (not in order) are these:
A child falls from the Sky
-- Stargazer's memory in Isle of Dawn
The child found by Stargazer and Rejecting Voyager would be brought to the Dawn Elder.
-- The beginnings of the Prophecy found in the prophet's cave in Isle of Dawn
A 'chosen one' who would create a beacon that would bring forth a new age of Light for the kingdom.
-- The complete Prophecy found in the prophet's cave in Isle of Dawn
(This Chosen One is assumedly connected to The Trials, leading the Lore community to believe that the one who defeats all four Trials would become the Final Elder. This means that in order to officially become the Prince, the Chosen One defeated these perilous Trials.)
Tumblr media
A stored memory of a haunting figure of a King holding, and possibly Absorbing, something strange, as the Ancestors worship over the event.
-- The Final Constellation of the Realms as revealed to us by the Vault Elder.
Tumblr media
A dark ominous shape with a crown loomed over the Eden Crystal as the Shattering began.....
-- The final trapped memory of the Light buried into the Void by the Shattering.
Tumblr media
We've ALWAYS had information and little lore snacks about our favorite tragic protagonist Resh Starface. But it's always been subtle, and though we'll get a MASSIVE explosion in Knowledge over the course of Two Embers, I feel that prior Knowledge will continue to be leaked subtle-ly. I have a feeling Two Embers will NOT answer all of our questions, and actually, I hope it doesn't. I still have so much work to do.
But since Resh has always been so subtle and shy with how he appears in the game, it was JARRING for them to just throw Stewie right in our face as our new in-game main character. Resh has and will continue to be strange and a mystery, but Stewie? They're literally just there lmao. We still know so little about how the chronology of this will work. Resh grows up, but if Resh and Stewie are siblings, did they actually both know each other when they were kids? Or was Resh born first, and Stewie arrives when Resh is much older? We do not know if Stewie ages like new-generation skychildren.
How they present the story will be so interesting to see indeed...
PLEASE infodump to me, how do we know for a fact the skiddo in the trailers and concert is the prince? I am starved for Alef lore
💫 HAYYY~~~~ 💫
I will GLADLY info dump about my favorite sky kids!!
SPOILER WARNING FOR ANYONE WHO HASNT COMPLETED AURORA!
Obligatory nothing is absolutely confirmed in sky unless stated by creators since there's no dialogue. So lots of stuff is always up to interpretation.
Howeverrrr the likelihood of Alef being the sky kid we see is essentially 99.9%!!
So here we go!!!
First thing to note is that the spirit from isle and the concert is totally the same Sky Kid. And we can tell thanks to MAMA Spirit! Or well- the adoptive mama spirit! More specifically... the adoptive mama spirit who unfortunately dies :(
One of the FIRST spirits in the game is a feminine looking ancestor with a relatively high pony tail, who discovers a fallen sky child (likely to be Alef)! This occurs in the Isle of Dawn!
Tumblr media
Then, in the concert, we get a similar looking spirit ( high ponytail ) who ALSO took in a sky child-- who dies tragically :( leaving the sky child orphaned and alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Granted it is a different body type!!! But considering the amount of retcons and redesigns of areas / updates to the game around this time I'll look past it for now. But regardless, ponytail stays the same.
Tumblr media
And of course lastly is our mama from the trailers with our Dawn Ember :(
Who is also wearing a bag on her shoulders like the aurora spirit (you can see the rope strap!)- and who also tragically loses her life as confirmed by TGC during the anniversary livestream. This can be found when they state it's the tale of two ORPHANS... implying our Dawn Ember does not have a guardian. Or at least not anymore. (Which also implies our Dusk Ember/The Stewards parents who gave him the butterfly pendant ALSO die, but that's for another time)
Something to note is that Sky Kids and ancestors are NOT the same race. They are completely different. Ancestors do have children!! But Sky Kids are a separate thing.
And they're rare.
Very rare.
So rare in fact that it's heavily believed by the fandom that Alef/Resh was the FIRST sky kid.
So the likelihood of two different pony tailed ancestors (who live in the Isle of Dawn AND who die tragically) adopting a sky kid is SUPER UNLIKELY!
So that's how we vaguely know it's the SAME Sky kid. BUT!! Most importantly, we know the Sky Kid is Alef forrrrr kinda shallow reasons, but they hold water!!! So it counts!!!
Which is basically to sayyyy... Dawn Ember is wearing a baby version of King Resh's mask.
So like- not the most GROUND BREAKING lore reveal. But---
Tumblr media
Like-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's our favorite star prince right there!
Also the implication that he got the extra four points AFTER prophecy, explains why as a kid he only has the main 4 points at the top and sides. Plus he already has suspiciously placed "cracks" in his mask where the 4 other points will come out of. That's our baby boy for sure!!!
Obviously, this isn't concrete proof of tgc just going HEY that's Alef!
However, for a game with zero dialogue and the most complex game of charades ever, this is basically as good as it's gonna get when it comes to tying everything together!
Also his name is Dawn.
Dawn Ember. For isle of Dawn. Which took me until 5 minutes ago to realize.
Which explains a lot, because we've all been kinda side eyeing the names like why tf did they name Hopeful Steward the Dusk Ember. But, if they're naming them off of AREAS and not literally the day/night motif that makes sense. Especially since a ton of Dusk Embers trailer scenes seem to take place in Wasteland, which the devs call the Dusk area. Despite him probably being from prairie or aviary village.
So badabing badaboom that's our baby boy right there!!! 3 different ways. 3 different flavors!!! All for the sake of mama spirit dying. Tragic. But that's our boy alrighttttt yayyy!!!!!!!!
Watch me be totally 100% wrong and all the fanart make zero sense a couple months from now. BUT IM DYING ON THIS HILL (for now!)
🎉🎉 That's our Prince right there!! 🎉🎉

Exactly!!!
Spirits are Beings of Light 🗣️🗣️🗣️
I am so glad to see others discuss the misconception. They are not just 'ghosts', and are now rather simply Pure Beings. One with the Light once more.
I similarly went over the exact same rhetoric and it's just amazing to see it elsewhere.
Beautiful work! 🕯️

Tumblr media
As light creatures age, the bond between their body and their inner light gradually weakens. Once the body expires, the bond is severed. The body returns to the earth, while the inner light returns to a place called "orbit". This is how things went before the construction of the crystal in Eden.
Following the crystal's fracturing, petrification took out much of the Kingdom's population, Spirits and light creature alike.
For other light creatures, death by petrification isn't so different from normal death since their light can still escape their body. Spirits on the other hand are different. Because their light is located on the inside, their petrified body serves as a shell from which their inner light can't escape.
The bond between a Spirit's body and its light severs the moment the body is petrified, but over long periods of time, the light "forgets" there even was a body in the first place. When inner light is finally freed from its petrified body, the idea of "light" and "flesh" will have merged to become one, creating the ghostly appearance Spirits are best known for.
In this state, a Spirit's body *is* their light. Physical interaction with objects and others takes conscious effort due to their bodies being partly incorporeal. Spirits are also quite fragile compared to their former selves. With light-based bodies, things like dark rain or dark creatures can be extra dangerous.
Because they no longer have "flesh" to maintain, Spirits are also functionally immortal. Keeping their light alive is the only condition for maintaining their existence. Spirits also do not age and their appearance reflects what they looked like at the time of petrification.
Additional notes I don't feel like editting into the original image:
To make understanding this whole thing easier, I would liken Spirits and their state of being to an egg without it's shell. Normally when you crack an egg, the yolk will escape (when a Spirit dies, their inner light returns to orbit). If you leave the yolk inside the shell for many odd years, it turns solid and maybe a little gross (when freed from their petrified prison, a Spirit's inner light assumes the role of their body instead of immediately going to orbit).
Because they no longer have their body barrier (assuming you read about that from my previous post) Spirits can now recharge their light by standing next to each other.
Spirits can still do magic in their ghostly state.
Spirits can go to orbit and return to the earth as they are. Why they don't stay up there and get "reborn" is a discussion for another post.

Every Being feels the Call. Every Soul looks up to the Sky and yearns for Home.
Don't you feel them crying out to you?
The Answer was never in the darkness of the unknown, rattling in the void.
The Answer was right there all along, within the Light.
You are not too lost, child. You will always Belong here.

Yes!!!
When we meet Elders, we are meeting them in Spaces, very similar to the Voids we find the memories of the Shattering within.
Tumblr media
It's my headcanon that Elders have some amount of influence on the Spaces created for us to meet them in; their memories and emotions mixing with our mind to simulate a room. The generation of this room relies on both the Descendant's thoughts and the Elder's will.
In Isle, Prairie, and Forest, the Descendant doesn't understand much about this world yet, and therefore the Space is very empty.
But Valley, Wasteland, and Vault give such strong emotions that the Elder can use our current experiences of having been through those lands, and create a Space that tunes to our Understanding.
What if the elders seeming bigger in their cutscenes than, say, in Orbit, is just the mind of the moth making them look like that. It's commonly theorised that our perception of the Vault is warped because we're looking at the world from the eyes of a young, newly fallen star that doesn't know any better. The moth is making it look magical and starry, but it isn't what actually reflects reality.
So it's possible that the cutscenes show them bigger and scarier and intimidating because that's how the moth sees them. Big, Scary Unknown people, that are, for some reason, familiar and in need of help.
It's a similar case to the use of cinematography that's used in them, Daleth's is middle ground, a lack of comparison of them and the moth, because they are in the same (but not really) predicament (weak and a lack of knowledge of the situation they're in) and therefore equals. Once they got their light back, boom, they're big and intimidating, they Literally Look Down on us, and we Look Up at them.
A parallel to their cutscene is Ayin and Tsadi's cutscenes, seeming big and scary, literally roaring.— "they're strong, aggressive and loud, they could hurt us"— but once we understand they are no threat, that they need light too and that they don't mean us harm, the camera angle suits it, in Tsadi's case, the camera angle evens when we interact.
Teth's camera angles never really change throughout their cutscene, even when they've regained their light. Which makes sense mind you, they never did anything to show they weren't a threat, but never overtly did anything to hurt us. They are not intimidating, but it's uncertain if they're trustworthy.
Lamed is the average size of an adult, because when we meet them, they are sitting, and possibly hurt. We do not perceive them as scary or big or anything because they don't present themself to be (or are capable of).
Sahmekh is a bit of a thing that I'm not bothered to touch on lol, their cutscene speaks for itself imo.
Anyways, that's all, I'm tired and needed to ramble about this lol (have wanted to for a while, I definitely could've worded it better but that's for a later post) anyway ty for reading

Dude this is amazing tyfys 🙌
You make a great point that they wouldn't make this design AFTER finalizing the launch-weslen temple... So I'm gonna have to say that this is very possibly a design they were trying out all across weslen to show the temple.
Once they got the design they wanted for the actual temple, they must've decided they weren't going to change or delete the old temple model and just use it as a background piece for each area.
This is so crazy though! I remember how much people would theorize about all the factories in the distance that you can see at shipwreck and the initial are before the broken temple. I wonder if each background piece all use the same model, wow.......
Took some really interesting pictures in Wasteland today
There's this one - just two skids casually sitting inside a turret, wondering what exactly it used to shoot
Tumblr media
I don't necessarily think this is true, but the pipes hooked up to the big middle one made me think of them as giant polluted waterguns
Tumblr media
Were all of these turrets? There's 5 total confirmed on the Temple, and potentially another 4+ on the ground.
Tumblr media
Were these meant to target people? Light creatures? Dark creatures?
Also, side note, anyone else notice that absolutely massive wall directly behind the turret to the right? It's spans the whole back of the Temple. Kinda interesting, especially considering all the giant doors inside the Temple. But when the main door opens, it opens to a long hallway into the Vault. So... I guess we are technically seeing the bottom outer portion of the Vault there? Makes sense to keep all that knowledge and stored technology behind so much protection.
Tumblr media
Anyway, what about the king statue on the front of the ship? Is it also a turret? Or just a plain ol' king statue?
And just for some more random fun:

This is what it looks like looking back on the Temple after you cross the spirit gate near the shipwreck - it looks a bit different. Wonder what that's about.
And finally, these bad boys - I know we all have our theories, I'm thinking they're water treatment plants - an attempt to rid the water of pollution once it started becoming an issue incapable of being ignored. What are you thinking??

Just "Heyyyyyy Llama can I uhhhhhhh tamper with the very fabric of our universe by ABSORBING THE SUN on top of your library"

I like that everyone mutually agrees that Lamed (vault elder) has probably either the most war crimes out of all the elders (excluding Resh) OR has done a lot of "evil" stuff for the greater good

Just saying:
there's no evidence Ancestors DIDN'T do this 💀😃😃😃
In fact... depending on how long their civilization lasted, it wouldn't be so strange to assume that they captured and killed plenty of different creatures, and rarities probably were even more valuable as delicacies........
sky suggestion number 5: you should be able to cook and eat manta rays
