Small Pet Rodent Awareness Week (SPRAW) is dedicated to improving the health and welfare of pet rodents.
While they have traditionally been called "starter pets," rodents take a lot of care and knowledge to be happy and healthy! Knowing an exotic vet nearby and having emergency funds is important, no matter what sort of pet you have. Many items sold in pet stores aren't safe or recommended, but thankfully I've noticed that there has been a shift towards larger cage sizes, less plastic, and less sugar in treats and foods. Be sure to do your research! Your pet will thank you!
