I'm about to have it.
I'm starting to hate "typical eurowestern dragon" in media on principle.
I'm starting to despise fire element immediate, default association with draconity.
I can't not look at scale four legs two membranous wings spiked scutes platemail tail spade and not feel disappointment. Or hoarding gold and precious gems feline behavior medieval setting cave and castles powerful and large and feel like wanting to tear up something.
Having a couple of these in a setting at a time is fine. But treated as a default state, must have for dragons?
This is NOT about identity (in case I need to say it). This is about dragons as design, dragons as creatures created, for story narrative and game pieces, this is about people's imagination--or lack thereof. This is about putting dragon in boxes and maybe anglocentrism in media. Because sometimes people give eastern storm dragon fire power--just because it's a dragon.
Having some people think that dragons are to be a specific way is disheartening. I grew up with stories of dragons around the world, with media that are expansive with what dragon means. This? This little box I keep finding people put dragons in? This is an utter disgrace. Madness.

At Target this lady told her son he couldn’t have a Wonder Woman doll because “that’s for girls” and then bought her daughter the same one. It got me thinking about how often I see people bar young boys from appreciating girls/women as protagonists and heroes, and my own experience with it as a kid.

You know, it really is quite frustrating the amount of times I scroll by a post that says "if men experienced [thing that trans men experience], this wouldn't happen [except it does, to trans men, usually worse than to cis women]"
"If men could have periods, tampons would be free" >>> trans man gets beaten up for requesting sanitary products in bathrooms
"If men got uterine cancer, there would be a cure" >>> trans man killed via medical neglect due to being trans as his doctors wanted to punish him for being transgender and betraying womanhood
"If men were catcalled, it would be considered assault" >>> trans man gets catcalled and then sexually assaulted for ignoring their advances
"If men had to worry about being alone at night, there would be a streetlight every 5 feet" >>> trans man murdered while walking home alone from work
But then if I say anything about it, I'm told I'm a misogynist "erasing women's struggles".

It's amazing how much of our knowledge of "animal behaviour" is based on very old studies that just went "we half-starved these animals and put them in a tiny box together and just assumed that whatever they did reflects their natural behaviours and social structures"

my friend just told me that there's a secret second dashboard that solely contains posts from people you've turned on post notifications for, and when i click the link in the messages it opens it within the tumblr app, so the tumblr app also has a secret second dashboard for post notification blogs, and the only way to access it is to open the link for it within the app.
i literally love tumblr

I love Stardew Valley, it's such a comfortable game to play, but the plot feels a little light at times. I bet it would be more compelling if the farmer had amnesia, crippling substance dependence and was suffering so much mental degradation that he thought his clothes were speaking to him.
