Just want to point out. My aunt has that exact same type of concrete around her pool. It looks like that because it’s supposed to be cooler than regular concrete. So you don’t burn your feet when you get out of the pool.
…I don’t think I want to visit Arizona.
“Ay yo, Arizona check!”

Exactly. It’s like Prince when he was “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.” His original record label had the rights to “Prince”’s next however many albums. And through that contract they controlled him and the music he could make so long as he was performing as “Prince”.
They had a contract dispute, so he just… left and called himself something different for a while. It wasn’t to regain privacy, it was to take back control. He then released a bunch of new music using a symbol instead of a name and did it without his original record label.
Obviously everyone still knew who it was. But he technically wasn’t making albums under the name “Prince” so the record label couldn’t stop him.
It’s the same thing here. The V-tubers have a contract for their persona/character with the production company. So long as they use that character, the production company gets a cut of what they make and can control what they do. Often the company even owns the copyright to the character design.
There are benefits to this arrangement. With a company, new v-tubers get access to platforms and resources independents rarely do. If you watch people who start out indie, their models are usually pretty static, if they move at all. But company v-tubers can launch with beautifully designed and expertly modeled rigs. But still, it’s a lot of control.
So when the v-tuber has an audience and gets tired of the leash, they’ll “graduate” (aka quit). They leave the character behind and then, like Prince, make a new, legally distinct but obviously the same, character to launch their independent career. Old company can’t stop them and their fans can find them right away.
my vtuber mutes... please explain to an unknower. why do the vtubers retire and then immediately start a new channel and everyone knows who they are anyway? doesnt that defeat the purpose of escaping the attention?

During my highschool Europe trip, some of the guys got a hold of everclear while we were in Rome. They had a crazy night of fun from what I heard… until about 1 AM.
They proceeded to vomit all over their own room, ruining their own beds, went to another one of the guys’ rooms and vomited on those beds, then went to their girl friends’ room and vomited all over their beds before passing out. The girls got the chaperones, left the boys to deal with their own shit, and knocked on my group’s (also all girls) door at 3 AM asking to share beds or sleep on our floor. They looked sick while trying to describe what had happened, so my best friend and I doubled up and shared the space.
We were a Catholic school. We were visiting the Vatican in the morning. The chaperons had zero sympathy for the hungover boys. They may have made them do most of the cleaning so as not to traumatize the hotel staff.
And I? Have never been remotely tempted to try everclear.
This is rapidly becoming my favourite brand of reaction video to see

Spin this wheel first and then this wheel second to generate the title of a YA fantasy novel!
(If the second wheel lands on an option ending with a plus sign, spin it again)

I used the shovel to get the drop cloth onto the wash line and beat it. Then decided it wasn’t worth it. I’m gonna give the spiders some time to evacuate but then it’s going into the trash.
So I need a new canvas drop cloth. I also need a new gas can. The gasket in mine broke.
But I managed to mow my lawn before the heat wave hits. And my hammock is as clean as it’s gonna get.
I gotta go back to work tomorrow (for a single day) but today was a good day.
I have today off. Since it’s supposed to be hot as an oven (actually, given the insane humidity as well, quite a lot of weather experts have called it “tropical jungle-like”), I’ve spent a good chunk of the morning doing outdoor tasks that:
Need to be done
I have been putting off doing
Will be a lot worse to do when it’s that miserable outside.
One of these tasks is cleaning out my shed. And retrieving my hammock.
I’ve been jumped-scared twice already just getting the hammock out. Once by a garter snake (I don’t mind having snakes in my yard, but their movement activates such a strong instinctive startle I’d much rather not see them. Every time. Every. Time. I jump so much no matter how small or harmless they are). The second by a black-widow-esq spider. Pretty sure it was a False Black Widow, it had white spots, but dear Lord seeing it scuttle on my hammock freaked me out.
Anyway, the hammock is currently being cleaned, and I still have not done pretty much any other part of cleaning the shed. My heart can’t take it.
The next time I move something, I’m using the hoe or the shovel to poke it a few times first.

There may be some confusion. I assumed you were talking fruit, but others may have thought you were asking which is the better color. Because the answer may change based on that initial assumption.

I got a hummingbird feeder on Sunday. Today I got my first visitor!
And after he was done feeding, he flew off and hung out on my clothesline for a bit until a robin scared him away. From the distance he had blended in with the clothespins.
Tomorrow I have to clean and refill the feeder. I’ll put a lot less nectar in as my little guest barely made a dent in the reservoir.
Slowly, but steadily, I’m making my house and backyard the place I always wanted it to be.

I have somehow started following a French Revolution/Napoleon fan blog. The question is, how?
I don’t think any of the blogs I currently follow would reblog revolutionary France and Napoleon content. Did someone find a new hyper-fixation and I just didn’t notice? Did I follow someone back without actually looking at what they post? Did it happen completely randomly while I was searching for something unrelated?
Like, you do you French History enthusiast! But I’m not interested in that particular part of history. So how did you get on my timeline?

“Oh, honey, no”? Condescending much?
Well, if you bear in mind I was responding to a specific person who I saw had reblogged the OP and not the general “you”, I don’t think so.
Like, that’s how I speak to people I care about. I call them honey, or sweetheart, or dear. I was responding to *that* person I was worried about.
Though I am glad my thoughts have reached so many other people! I check the reblogs occasionally and it’s wonderful to see people of different politics, ideologies, genders, religions, nationalities, etc. resonating with the decision to go looking for hope.
And I hope you find those good little things in your life, too.

The main reason I don’t cook more is because cooking for 1 is a pain. But I have several recipes in my repertoire and the confidence that I can follow most new ones put before me.
I'm curious. Reblog this if you know how to cook
I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.

Ao3 consistently outperforms their fundraising n goals every year. I think they can afford the server space for a few dead or quiet fandoms. That’s kinda the whole point of an Archive.
Don’t fall for this shit.
Tumblr media
THIS IS NOT REAL. If you get this comment, they’re just trying to get you to delete your fic.
1) I would have gotten some kind of email from Ao3 if this was true
2) this comment is formatted to be perfect to tack onto any fic they choose
3) ALSO why on earth would Ao3 get rid of entire fandoms off the site? Even if they WERE inactive? Who knows if others will be ‘late’ to the fandom and want some fic to read. Who knows if someone wants to come back to their 6 year old account only to find most of their fics deleted.
I’m lucky to be a reasonable adult who has seen tricks like these who also had a very kind person comment their own doubts.
Please let your Ao3 friends know <3
