I’ve gotten a few burns myself in my life, b between working in a grocery store deli and cooking/baking as a hobby, I know my way around a first aid kit. Like a second degree sucks ass and will absolutely take a while to heal but I don’t recall anyone ever jumping in a car to my house over it!

but I didn’t realize how awful that placement is until I saw the picture

Like year I had a bigass scar on my forearm from when I had to catch a tray of hot chickens coming out of the oven to keep the grease and water from the steam bath from going all over me (the only time you should be trying to catch hot things is when not catching them covers you in boiling water)

but that’s like in the middle of my arm I just slapped some burn cream and a bandage on it and hopped back to work, those chickens weren’t gonna package themselves after all!

But that’s like all the bits that MOVE and STRETCH how do you even bandage that????

my bf has many interesting stories and observations from his new job as a 911 operator

my favorite is how meandering people are, even in the midst of a terrible emergency

they respond to “what is the emergency” with “well, the thing is, four weeks ago–”

and then he’s like “WHAT IS THE EMERGENCY RIGHT NOW”

and they’re like “so what happened this morning was, i said to my wife, i said–”

“WHAT IS CURRENTLY HAPPENING AT THIS MOMENT”

“oh i’m having a heart attack”

my second favorite is how specific he has to get sometimes

like, “what is your emergency?”

“i’m sitting in a pool of blood.”

“… is it… your blood?”

“yes i think so”

“do you know where it’s coming from?”

“probably the stab wound”

“have you been stabbed?”

“oh yah definitely”

hey i just found out about this app called No Thanks that you can use to search brands or scan bar codes to see if theyre being boycotted for Palestine!

here and below is the apple store link, and you should be able to find it on other app stores by the same name

the app is free, its made and run by a Palestinian developer, and all funds (which i believe come from ads and the in-app store) go towards organizations that are actively working to help those in Gaza!

thought id share this for anyone unaware and having difficulty navigating the boycott stuff like i was :D

Remember that petition that I posted here a bit ago? We got a victory! Now, let's make sure it STAYS non-existent!

How do we do that? One idea is to get RFK Jr. OUT off the Health and Human Services department along with his other anti-vax/"vaccines cause autism" braindead pals!

Lemme say this once.
