thank you for this. because i agree. attended three rituals now — it does feel different, even if the magic's still working. i mean, ritual recordings were precisely what got me to impulsively buy my first ticket because they showed just how different those concerts were (more an actual ritual-stage show-ceremony-gathering than just a concert). felt nice not to worry about taking pictures but also, i dont think i would have felt quite the same if it was my first ritual.

edit for clarity: i like the creature so much i just ended up making my own headcanons about him. still, not as fun as when we had copia acting like his goofy little self in official materials.

I think people think perpetua is a ‘nothing’ character because most people aren’t able to actually see him in action and take in his personality

Like yeah, we have what people that did go tell us what happens but that’s very different than seeing a clip or seeing him in person

You keep your gaze fixed on him, watching him move. He's a creature of intensity, of quiet concentration.

When he looks up at you, his eye is dark like the pit of the lake you used to spend hours staring into as a child, unable to look away from the void deep below. Only this time there is no one to make sure you don't stumble, fall and go under.

The other one glitters like the moonlight reflected by the waves.

Then comes the bite — sudden, precise; a sharp pressure, a prickling sting that blooms into something deeper.

You let out a cry as the pain pierces through skin. It is not an elated sound nor an attempt at a seductive noise; it is genuine, it is honest.

You feel your pulse stumble, the world around blurring, sound fading into a low hush. You're not sure if it's the buzz of your own blood or the whisper of the rain falling outside.

This is how you fall into a lake. This is why you don't stare into the dark. This is why you keep your feet on dry ground. This is why you pay attention to what lurks beneath the waves.
