I recently went on a trip, and there was this amazing stationery store. I just had to buy this cute little sketchbook.
And (of course) the first sketch is Saint-Just. I drew a lot of inspiration from lrf SJ (and I KNOW what everybody thinks about him, but it was sort of a sentimental thing ig).
I purposefully chose the cooler colours to match the descriptions of Saint-Just “walking like a statue…” etc.

well thats two furry-ish description of fouché.
cat and weasel.
As for Louise de Vaudémont, she doesn’t spare [Fouché] and treats him with a familiarity that he’ll never seem to hold against her, going as far as making fun of his face. One day, as she attended a dinner with him at Auteuil, hosted by Madame de Brienne, she amusingly placed him in front of a mirror to get a better look at him: “My God! My little Fouché, how you look like a weasel!”

Helloo! Genuine question, yk that animation you made of Robespierre with that cloth in his hand? Who’s cloth was it and why was he crying over it?
Alsoo maybe a rough lil bonus drawing of the aftermath of the Valentines post you made on your main? Ok have a good one I luv ur art sm!
Hi! Thanks sm! For that animation it was mainly an acting exercise. Tho I had in mind it was probably from Camille and Robespierre is crying after Camille’s execution.
And heres the drawing! (Went a little overboard oops)

Hey! I've been curious about this for some time now but I can never find anyone talking about it anywhere. Do you happen to know if Marat and Desmoulins were friends? Did they like each other? The only thing I know about this is that Marat wrote a letter to Desmoulins, and from what I've read he seemed friendly.
Hi! Marat and Desmoulins, despite their likely later differences about "excesses of the terror" (a part of what led to the Dantonists' execution), seemed to be at least relatively friendly towards each other! You're correct on Marat writing to/about Camille in "L'Ami du Peuple." He actually regards Camille as his "brother in arms" and "friend." The issue/article can be found here.
You can find some more info here about Marat and Camille's interactions, derived from the letter below!

hi! i’ve recently started getting into the french revolution and i’ve seen a lot on sj’s ‘totalitarian views’ and the quote ‘You have to punish not only the traitors, but even those who are indifferent; you have to punish whoever is passive in the republic, and who does nothing for it’ but i dont see many people here discussing it, so i was wondering if there are any misconceptions abt his views, and if not, why people dont talk abt it more? thanks!
I'm a sporadic contributor to the French Revolution tag here on Tumblr and I must confess I read very little of what is being discussed on other people's blogs due to a lack of time. So I feel that I am not qualified to answer that question in relation to Tumblr specifically.
There are many good books out there which soberly touch on the paranoic crescendo which swept up the revolutionaries and led them to commit more and more extreme and irreversible actions in the name of protecting the most precious and extraordinary thing they created: the Republic. I wouldn't take Tumblr as the yardstick of the discourse on Saint-Just.
