Ruth Buzzi, a comedian who made more than 200 television appearances during a 45-year career, has died at age 88 from Alzheimers complications. I loved her most in Sesame Street. Rest in Peace 🙏

As a result of this data manipulation, billions of dollars in research funding and drug development have been wasted on treatments targeting amyloid plaques, while other potential causes of Alzheimer’s, such as metabolic dysfunction and inflammation, were largely ignored

The University of Minnesota, where the fraudulent research was conducted, failed to find misconduct in an internal review, highlighting serious concerns about institutional bias and the need for independent oversight in scientific investigations

Patients and families must take an active role in questioning studies, funding sources and treatment claims to identify reliable research

We ran into someone I went to uni with today at the doctors. She's unattractive and mean-- what Mom always referred to as a 'bitter bitch'. I didn't like her back then but she was friends with my roomie so I tolerated her. I say 'That's Susabella's friend Becky. Do you remember her from uni?'

Many people use Alzheimers as the term for all Dementia and Alzheimers does account for the majority of Dementia but this picture describes it best. Dementia is the umbrella term, like cancer is, and then you have specific types of Dementia like you do specific types of cancer.

Dementia is not a single disease. It's an overall term to describe a collection of symptoms that one may experience if they are living with a variety of diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. Diseases grouped under the general term "Dementia" are caused by abnormal brain changes. Dementia symptoms trigger a decline in thinking skills, also known as cognitive abilities, severe enough to impair daily life and independent function. They also affect behavior, feelings and relationships.
