Hange Week Day 7 Prompt: Free Day
Bit of Levihan that takes place before the fall of Trost. Enjoy!
— — — — — — — — — — —
It was Hange’s day off today. She hadn’t had one for ages. She decided that she was going to go into town to wander around for a bit.
Unfortunately for her, she didn’t have the best day out. First, she had been walking through the streets when she was heckled by a group of men for being a ‘waste of space Survey Corps member’. She moved quickly to get away from them and found herself in a china shop next. There were many pretty things for her to look at but she kept almost knocking things over in her excitement and was asked to leave.
Hange was very deflated by this point. She had spent all day feeling like an outsider. She was on her way home when something in a shop window caught her eye and lifted her spirits. Once she had it, she rushed back to HQ.
Levi was doing work in his office when Hange burst in calling his name. “What do you want four eyes?” He asked with slight agitation in his voice. “Isn’t it your day off?”
“It is” Hange said. “Look what I got.” She said and held out her hands. In them, she was holding a packet of tea. It was Levi’s favourite too and she knew that. “I don’t really fit in with the outside world so I thought maybe I could help you with work while we drank tea?” She offered.
Levi was truly touched by this gesture but played it off cooly. “You want to spend you free day drinking tea with me? You really are abnormal.” Levi mused but there was a hint of a smile on his face. He stood “Alright, sit down, I’ll make us some.”
Hange sat down across from Levi’s desk giddily as he prepared their tea, smiling at him intently the whole time.

Hange Week Day 6 Prompt: Compassion/Cruelty
Takes place right after ACWNR. Enjoy!
— — — — — — — — — — —
It was the day after that fateful expedition. Everyone was allowed the day to rest and recuperate but Levi was nowhere to be found.
Hange had lost many friends to the titans in the past so she knew what he was going through and sought out to find him. She eventually spotted him on the rooftop so she made them both some tea and took it up to him.
“Do you want some tea?” Hange offered as she approached him but got no response. Despite that, she sat down nearby and placed the tea out near him. “I know what you must be going thro—“
“Don’t.” Levi interrupted her. He kept his eyes fixed firmly on the horizon.
Hange persisted anyways. “You can always talk to me about it if you’d like, Levi.” She offered.
Levi finally snapped when she spoke his name. “Just fuck off!” He yelled and glared at her.
“Alright.” Hange said, she didn’t want to push him too far. She left him with his tea and headed off back to her room.
Hange was a little bit hurt by his sudden yelling but she wasn’t discouraged by it. She knew they would become great friends one day. After all, she could be compassionate and he could be cruel and opposites always attract.

Hange Week Day 5 Prompt: Bright
Set before the fall of Trost. Enjoy!
— — — — — — — — — —
Levi was sitting in Erwin’s office helping him with some mind-numbing paperwork. Desperate for a distraction, he piped up to start a conversation. “How bright do you think four eyes is?” He asked.
“That’s a very random thing to ask,” Erwin noted, not taking his eyes off of his work, “unless of course you’re interested in her.” He teased. “Why do you want to know?”
Levi ignored his tease “I’m just curious because everyone here tends to pass her off as some crazed psychopath and ignore her but you always listen to what she says. You don’t even listen to everything I say.” He complained.
Erwin put down his pen and looked up this time. “Hange is not a psychopath. Sometimes she can be overly enthusiastic but when the situation demands it, she is by far the brightest of anyone here.” He declared and paused for a moment to let Levi take it in.
That’s when of course Hange burst into his office. “Erwin! Erwin!” She exclaimed and then proceeded to ramble about titans and science too fast for anyone to actually make out before sprinting out of the room excitedly.
Levi simply turned to Erwin. “Are you sure about that?”

Hange Week Day 4 Prompt: Hange Squad
This one takes place before the fall of Trost. Enjoy!
— — — — — — — — — — —
Hange’s squad had been hanging around in the stables. They had finished training and were just waiting for Hange to return from one of her spontaneous science adventures.
Nifa was the one to bring it up when the conversation had lulled. “What do all of you like most about Squad Leader?” She asked. “Personally, I think her leadership skills are admirable.”
“I like her intellect best.” Keiji said “She always comes up with a plan that no one else would have thought of.” He explained.
“She always has so much energy, which I like.” Goggles chimed in. “Even when it makes literally no sense. I’m starting to think she could get shot and still be trying to make plans and talk about science.” He joked.
“You all make valid points.” Moblit stated. “But I think her best quality is her scientific genius. Without it, there’s lots of things we know about titans now that we wouldn’t have otherwise.” He finished up. Everyone nodded along in agreement.
The door opened and they all turned expecting to see Hange walk in but instead it was Levi. “Where’s Hange?” He asked them.
“She’s run off to go find something but said she’d be back here soon.” Moblit explained.
“In that case, I’ll come back later.” Levi said curtly and started heading out again.
“Wait, Captain.” Nifa called out to which Levi stopped and turned around. “We were all just talking about what we like most about Hange and I just wanted to know what you like best about her?” She asked.
Levi responded almost instantly. “What I like most about her is the intense glint she gets in her eyes when she starts rattling off about science or titans.” He explained and then headed out the door.
“That was a fast response…” Nifa mused. “And oddly specific.” Hange’s squad all looked at each other, each wondering the same thing about Levi and their squad leader.

Hange Week Day 3 Prompt: Vision
This one is a lot lighter than my others so far and takes place before the fall of Trost. Enjoy!
— — — — — — — — — — —
She didn’t remember where she had put them, she just knew now that everything was a bit blurry. She could still see technically speaking but it was impossible to make out details of pretty much anything. Earlier she had even confused Petra for Nifa.
Levi had been making tea when he saw them. Of course she left her glasses in the weirdest possible place. He picked them up, intending to find her and give them back after berating her about it first. However, curiosity got the better of him and he lifted them up to his eyes to see through them. Instantly he had to put them down due to the massive mind fuck it gave him. That four eyes really must be blind, he thought.
He took the glasses with him as he left with his tea and went to find Hange, which didn’t prove difficult for him at all seeing as her panic could be heard from all over the HQ. He eventually ran into her in the hallway near Erwin’s office.
Hange couldn’t see Levi’s features in much detail but she knew it was him because she could almost feel him scowling at her, not to mention she could make out his short stature. “Hey, Levi. Have you seen my glasses?” She asked.
“You mean these?” Levi asked and held them up into her view.
Hange had to squint a bit to try and see the thin frame but she knew Levi must have them anyway. “Yes, thanks for finding them.” She said and reached her hand out for them but Levi had already moved them away.
“Not so fast.” Levi said. “You can have them back when you finally bathe, four eyes.” He declared. It didn’t seem to matter how many time he forcefully bathed her, she never seemed to learn.
“What? That’s not fair! I don’t have time to bathe!” Hange exclaimed.
“Well make some, otherwise I’ll wear them instead.” Levi said. He put them on again, this time acting as if it didn’t mess up his vision just to piss her off.
Hange carried on at him to give them back and tried to grab them off of him, starting a bit of a brawl between the two until a door swung open and they stopped suddenly.
“What the hell is going on here?” Erwin asked. Levi and Hange turned to face him like deer in headlights, Hange squinting madly and Levi wearing her glasses. ‘Great’ Erwin thought, now he has to deal with this crap.

I apologise if my depictions of Hange’s eyesight are inaccurate, I am not a glasses wearer. Thank you for reading!

Hange Week Day 2 Prompt: Support
Enjoy some physical and emotional Levihan support!!
SPOILERS!! May contain spoilers from up to chapter 108 but takes place at the start of the 4 year gap.
— — — — — — — — — — —
They didn’t talk on their way over, nor did they speak while they were searching to find the exact rooftop. Sure enough they found it. His body smelt of death but they didn’t care. It had only been a few days and he still looked the same as he did when he left them. Sleeping, finally having escaped from the torment of his past actions.
Hange finally broke the silence. “Where do you want to bury him?” She asked calmly.
Levi didn’t take his eyes off of Erwin. “It’s probably expected of us to bury him in the cemetery with the rest.” He stated.
“Alright then, we’ll do that.” Hange said with a soft voice. This was hard for both of them.
After a few more minutes just sitting with Erwin, they wrapped him up and took him back to be buried.
Once burried, Hange left Levi at the grave and came back with some flowers. “I know that they’re just flowers, but I thought it would be nice.” She said.
“They’re nice, thank you. Just make sure you save some of them, there’s something I want to show you.” Levi said. He led her a few rows down to a different grave. “I know that his body was destroyed but he was important to you and he still deserves a place beside his comrades.” He said.
Hange gasped softly when she saw it. A place in the cemetery for Moblit. “Thank you Levi! Thank you! Thank you” She exclaimed and engulfed him in a quick hug which today he didn’t protest. She placed the rest of the flowers down beside Moblit’s name and stayed a few minutes longer.
“I guess we probably should be heading off now. We still have lots to get done today.” Hange said but she didn’t want to leave. She wouldn’t be able to focus on work today.
“We can do work some other time.” Levi said as if reading her mind. “I know a place we can go instead.” He said. He walked with her up to a nearby hill that overlooked the area.
Sitting beside each other with their backs against a large tree, they silently looked over the cemetery and remembered their fallen friends fondly. As the sun set, Hange leaned her head on Levi so that his shoulder was supporting her. He simply responded by letting his head be supported by hers.

Hange Week Day 1 Prompt: Leadership
It’s quite late for day 1 but Uni has been killing me so here is my first public writing ever.
SPOILERS!! Takes place after chapter 108. Here we go.
— — — — — — — — — —
After her encounter with Eren, Hange slumped into her desk chair. She put her head in her hands, feeling the smooth texture of her eye patch. That day. That was the day when everything changed. Hange Zoe was officially the Commander of the Survey Corps following the death of her predecessor.
Erwin. It had been four years since he had passed and it still didn’t seem real to her. Erwin always had such strong conviction, so much so that he seemed almost indestructible. But she had still learnt so much from him over the years and wanted to lead as well as he did but she knew she never could. Making her commander was a mistake.
Hange sighed loudly as her thoughts drifted now to Moblit. Despite all her insanity, his loyalty to her never faltered. Even he had taught her lots during their time together. He kept her balanced and taught her to have some level of restraint but he also believed in her leadership. Hange missed him deeply but thought now that if he could see her, he would be disappointed.
Hange was on a roll now, who else had she let down? The next person that came to mind was of course Levi. She had been fascinated with him since the day he joined the Survey Corps. He was so short and cranky and didn’t approve of her messy lifestyle but he was always there if she needed him. They had barely left each others side the past four years, something she was grateful for while adjusting to her new position. She wondered now if Levi could see how truly pitiful a commander she was.
Those three. They meant so much to her, taught her so many things yet she felt as if she could never be like them.
Hange suddenly let out a huff and a light chuckle. “All men!” She exclaimed to herself. “No wonder I’m so crazy!” She joked further, a comforting way to ease her mind.
Hange turned to look at her reflection in the mirror beside her desk. She looked at her messy hair that she hadn’t washed for a few days now, her bolo tie, her lips, her nose until she finally looked at her hazel eye, the last window into her soul. In that moment she saw herself as if for the first time. She wasn’t as charismatic as Erwin, she wasn’t as loyal as Moblit and she wasn’t as strong as Levi but she was Hange Zoe. A scientist. An eccentric. A leader in her own right.
She stood up abruptly, no longer feeling pity for herself but as if a newfound fire had sparked within her. She could do this, she had to, Paradis depended on it.

If you made it this far, thank you so much for supporting my writing and enjoy Hange week 2018!!
