Dante knew enough about his interest for the night to know that she had an interest for the theatrical. The moment that he caught sight of her silhouette, taking in every inch of what she wanted him to see, his head hung low. Behind the smile that touched his lips, there was a degree of knowing in his mind. It was this degree that left him with a simple understanding: tonight, he was going to be dragged here and there by someone who had the world in her hands. He was just as much of a player in this particular act, as he was about to get played with a vengeance.
Her voice called out to bring his attention to her, and with it, he manifested some kind of composure. For all the world, the Dante of old had returned, so long as one didn't look a little too close. Moving away from his bike, he approached, bringing himself to rest his arms along the porch. Casting his gaze upward again, he could only respond quite cheekily to her query. After all, to expect anything less would have been to underestimate him completely.
"I figured that I was in the neighbourhood, and that I should stop by. Now, I'm not usually one for house calls, but I've made a special exception. Because what I see is one hell of a fever, and what kind of guy would I be if I didn't put it out?"

♥ ——————— Persistent isn’t he. Wow, even if he did wanted something perhaps do the courtesy to ask in person, even if he has the title of being a son of someone more powerful down below inferno. Having the blood of a demon in him making him powerful but not enough to test his luck her he might have rounds of women waiting for him even swooning over his wake. She wasn’t the one to indulge in an activity that would make her regret the whole thing afterwards besides, if she made it easy for him it wouldn’t be much a thrill how powerful he is in the battlefield yet he can’t be a man to ask about his wants.
After she heard the noise of his engine enough to wake the whole neighborhood because of it. And he’s now parked on the pavement waiting for her. Turning on the lights the whole room her window draped with expensive curtains thinking of giving him a show before meeting him downstairs her silhouette showing each curves of her body getting on to put an expensive lingerie and a tight hosiery hooking it with garter belts after she was done spending half of an hour to get dressed up. She got out of the door then to the porch finding him outside.
"Well, look who’s here", She teased perching one hand on her hip. Feigning surprise smiling in her amusement. "I thought I was gonna spend the night alone, What brings you here this evening ?", She inquired casually smiling at him.

♥ ——————— “Do you think you have such luck ? Get a hefty sum of money on the bank and stuff it in a wallet. Perhaps a purse or a dinner can do. But, still no if I caught myself drunk with you. And I end up sleeping soundly, if you like your women asleep. I won’t judge, but dear I like my men asking for it, getting frustrated with all that sexual tension. If I were you I’d start that bike and get to my house as soon as possible”
Of all the scathing arguments he had been a part of, this one just so happened to be one of the most poignant ones out there.
What happened after that moment was so mindless, so pointlessly banal that he could have been mistaken for a drone. Packing away some of his earnings, not enough to break the bank, but enough to get the job done, he proceeded towards his bike. It was a short moment between then and the present that he was proceeding, the roar of the engine blocking out whatever reluctance he might have had to his own inane impulse.
Soon enough, he was happening upon her abode, stunned at the fact that he even found it. Cutting his own self off with a whistle, he took the time between his actions to sit against his seat, contemplating his own movements. A breathy sigh then followed, boiling down to one simple fact.
He was an idiot, yes, an absolute idiot. Even so, when someone positioned their wants with such purpose, and such utter confidence, he was stuck. Stuck in his interest for the same old fantastic and overpowering thing.

'Sweet' was a word that happened to be rarely attributed to him in that context. Cutting a demon in half while using his buddy as a surfboard? That was the kind of sweet that he was used to being attributed with. Any other context was something he presumed had died out in his soul a long time ago. His time with Juliet was, again, proving that he had a few tricks that even managed to surprise himself! When it came to pleasing Juliet, he'd take any surprise that worked as well as that one did.
"Kicking around outside isn't what I'd call alone together, but you crazy kids do have a habit of changing things while I'm not looking," he commented. "Anything more than you and I is a crowd that I'm just not willing to stand for. Call me greedy, but when I wanna spend time with you, I don't want to share."
Greedy was right, and he scoffed at his own words. Just a few meaningful encounters was all it took for the otherwise unattached male to go just a few shades short of crazy for her. When he looked at her, he just wanted her with him, on all days, and especially in all ways. That thought brought him to shake his head, only to come up smiling thereafter. There was magic in her touch, which is something he couldn't say often.
Well, magic in the sense that said magic wasn't out to tear his ass to dust.
While pondering that wonder, he found himself meeting a pause when his back touched against a particular surface. Turning his head, he found himself placed against the door of the Starling household. He hoped, of course, that there was nobody inside, so that he didn't have to have that conversation. The 'what are your intentions with my daughter' conversation that often lead to a shotgun-toted rebuttal towards whatever words he said.
"So," the male began, sliding off to the side so as to let his company towards the door. "How about a little 'ladies first'?"

{♥} It was incredible to think of how easily he had made his way into her heart, how quickly he became the subject of her affections. Something strange, an almost empty numbness that she had never quite acknowledged, seemed to be brought to life again by his presence. It hadn’t really hit her until she, at last, became connected to him, connected in a way she would have never expected.
Juliet had almost lost herself in her own curiosity, but the sensational heat she became aware of with his touch quickly snapped her back to the moment itself. Rotating her hand a bit, she easily laced their fingers together, growing familiar with the feel of his hand in her own. It brought a grin to her face, realizing how great their time together was sure to be.
His words, however, caught her a bit off guard, acting as enough of a surprise to bring a fiery blush to her cheeks. Giggling, she almost bashfully placed a gentle kiss on his cheek, her eyes bright as they met his. “Aww…~ Really…?~ That was so sweet of you to say…!~ I can easily say the same about you, too!”
Watching him break from her grasp, she let out another little laugh, speeding up her pace to again be beside him. She definitely had no intention of falling behind Dante!
"Hehehe, hey!~ Not really, that means we don’t get as much time to be alone together! Why would I want thaaat?~”

More and more, the man felt himself drift towards being absolutely crazy for this gal. For a man who spent the majority of his life committed to either pizza, or his own ego, that was no easy feat. It took a woman of considerable talent, considerable style, and considerable personality to make him feel as he did in this moment. Every bit of him felt exposed, and alive to the affairs of the world. In the company of this lovely blonde, he'd always feel that way. The Dante of old would have thought him to be a silly sort of sap, but the Dante of old also didn't have a lady like this at his side. As such, that old Dante could say whatever it wanted, and be ignored in the face of that.
Dante scarcely had the time to voice what he thought, before he felt the warmth of her palm resting against his chest. What he thought could only wait, as what he felt was something more satisfying to contemplate. He felt heat, he felt sincerity, and most importantly, he felt affection. For a man that willfully starved himself of the latter, knowing that feeling after so long was euphoric. It brought him to stop his pace there, only to place a hand of his own carefully against the one laid upon his chest.
"I think that you're working your way into this weird old heart of mine," he proposed, a smile touching his lips at his own musing. That's what she had done, wasn't it? Day by day of knowing her, through ache and through pleasant discourse, she had done just that. The wild nature of his desires were muffled, if only slightly, only to be replaced with thoughts of her. She was a tricky woman, and one hell of a challenge. Thankfully, he adored both. "That's saying something."
It was with that which provoked him to remove his hands from her body, only to take a few steps ahead. Only when he had gained a bit of a foot lead ahead of her, did he turn around, mischief and mirth heavy in his expression. To this woman, and to his woman, he gestured as to goad her into 'coming on'.
"Speed it up, sweetheart. I'm starting to think that you're getting a bit of a kick out of taking your sweet time~."

{♥} Her sexuality, while she may have been fine with flaunting it, was something Juliet had never frequently acted upon. Of course, kisses had been shared in the past, but the simple pecks never had a chance of surmounting what was currently being shared with Dante. If she were to be completely honest, there was a wonder of mischief building in the pit of her stomach…
But should she act on such so soon? They have certainly been developing said feelings of attraction for quite some time, but even then, Juliet feared making some form of mistake in it all. Pushing the worries to the back of her mind, the blonde was flawless at hiding whatever troubled her in that brief flash of a second. Already, her mood had grown lighter, more willing to act upon her urges and do her best to please Dante.
"A crazy idea?" Admittedly, she had not thought much on the fact that they were bound to be in contact most of the time, but Dante’s quick pat brought a hint of sense into her. "Oh, right… That’s a good point…~" A giggle soon followed as his hand remained upon her, clearly no annoyance felt from the contact.
"Straight to my house, then? We probably don’t want to get in trouble for public indecency or something…" With another teasing giggle, Juliet brought herself closer to the form beside her, a hand crossing over her own to rest upon his chest. "What do you think?"

Ah, the sweet smell of barely restrained sexual frustration. It had been a while since he had picked up on that particular scent, and longer still since it had come from such an attractive source. Dante had played this game before, and wasn't blind to the implications that Juliet offered. As far as said game went, he didn't know how it would end. Even so, it was good to know that was an option. Said option, as a matter of fact, grew more enticing with every kiss on the lips that she planted against him.
Dante had barely a second or two to recover from the dizzying kiss she placed against him, before they were off again. Her spunk, evidently, did not diminish while she was in a relationship. He was looking forward to seeing if anything changed in her, and if he was the cause of it. Certainly, there seemed to be a vibrancy and a life to her accentuated by his company. He loved that, just as much as he loved the gentle tingle that her lips left behind after her kiss.
"Stop by the pizza place? That sounds like a pretty crazy idea to me," he commented, breaking the touch of their hands only to jokingly swat at her behind. Said swat was followed by a lingering touch, as if his fingers somehow had to contemplate just how good it was to touch Juliet's behind. Or, more honestly, he just really wanted an excuse to slap said ass! "They wouldn't take too kindly to me shoving my tongue down your throat on the counter, would they?"
Joking as though his query was, he had to admit that this option wasn't a terrible one. Indeed, the thoughts in his mind told him that this was good, and the throb of quite a few potions of his form agreed. With a unified consensus, he dragged his hand upwards, dancing his index and middle fingers against the base of her spine. A little teasing never hurt anyone, right?

{♥} Her face brightening as his lips danced across her cheek, Juliet let out another giggle of joy. It was hard for her to hold back any laughter: Her enjoyment always resulted in breaks of chuckles and constant smiling. Feeling her affections be returned lit a fire in her, sparking more of a craving than she ever expected to happen.
"Well, what if I want to give you a lot of leeway?~ Hehe… I mean, I know there’s a lot you can say you want to do, but I’m okay with that!” Scanning his face as he pondered his decision, as if she could influence whatever decision he made, Juliet’s head moved to nod upon his request. “More pizza and more me… Sounds good to me!~ As long as I get some more of you, too.~”
It was almost a shock that he hadn’t suggested something else, but Juliet knew that Dante had respect for her and did care a lot about her. Besides, all she really wanted was to spend as much time with him as she could. Placing another kiss on his lips, she took his hands in hers, swaying them a bit as she spoke.
"So! To my house, then?~ We can stop by the pizza place, too, or just order it if you prefer.~" Juliet seemed a bit too anxious to get going, but she was simply overwhelmed with the exhilaration that had been building inside of her for so long.

Juliet, evidently, was not always the 'slow and steady' gal that he once took her for. It had not been long since he had admitted his attraction to her, and already, he was being smothered in affection. His younger, and more rebellious self would have recoiled at this touch, more concerned with his image than anything else. Now that he had grown a little older, and perhaps a bit wiser, he saw the benefit in this. Instead of recoiling at the kiss against his cheek, he swiftly repaid her back with interest, lining a series of his own kisses along her cheekbones.
"That's a lot of leeway that you're offering me," Dante began, his mind swimming with possibilities. Some were more innocent than others, but one stood tall above them all. There were certain desires that might have been quenched by this blonde's company, but one was not so easily handled! "I'm thinking more pizza, and more of you. Sound good?"
A man of his mood, and of his particular style might have carried an assumption of grander deeds. Indeed, if this was any other person, he might have suggested something more. But, Juliet was different, and with her, he felt a sense of peace. He didn't need to put on a show, or rather, a show of his usual variety.
There was a different 'show' to thrust himself towards. It was a simple show, and a humble one. It involved the both of them, and just whatever either of them could get up to. So long as there weren't any demons or zombies to attend to, he could focus on simpler things. Such as the way her body felt in his hands, and what it meant to walk the both of them away from her school, and towards something else.

{♥} “I don’t think it would be possible for you to lose your touch, if that’s what you can do after however long you’ve kept from doing that.” Juliet let out a laugh, “You are pretty good at it! I can’t say a lot about myself, but… I mean, I enjoyed it!~”
No matter how hard she tried to hide her blushing, it had never worked. Still a bit used to the habit, Juliet had to remind herself that there was no real reason to keep it a secret now. The bright pink of her cheeks only emphasized how much she had not only enjoyed the kiss, but how much she was attracted to him. Whatever the case, she knew their relationship would be something she would give her all to maintain.
She had hoped the hug would be something enjoyable to him, something that brought him a sense of relaxation and acceptance. Dante had done nothing but given her comfort and some confidence, and it was a treat that she wanted to return to him. Feeling his nuzzle brought a smile to her face, sending another wave of excitement through her body.
"Well, I don’t plan on leaving any time soon!~ As long as you want me around, I’m going to stick around.~" With a smile, she placed a kiss quickly on his cheek, continuing to hold him. His words sent a tingle to her chest, which brought a more intense heat to her cheeks.
"So, now that we’ve got that all sorted out… What do you want to do?~" She briefly giggled, brow raising to emphasize her question. "I’ll leave it up to you!~"

"Then I haven't lost my touch, good~!" Dante's exclamation surprised even him, and underscored just how much he wanted this kiss to seem right for the both of them. "If it wasn't for my stunning commitment to the little guy, I think I might've struck out as an Incubus. I am good at the whole 'face sucking' business."
His little quip served to quell his excitement, and bring something of a return to his usual confidence. The man's heart might have been beating a mile a minute, and he might have had a heat brought his cheeks for the first time in a while, but he was confident. Confident, most of all, in where this was going. No matter what, he knew, he knew that they'd stick like glue. Or, as close as a nigh-immortal demon hunter and a zombie killing cheerleader could get.
Despite his 'image', he relished in the hug that he was given, and leaned into the affection granted. How long had it been since he had felt such comfort? Too long, he presumed, much too long. Juliet had returned a great, if soft feeling to him. Already, he had much to thank her for, while he brought himself to nuzzle his visage against the top of her head. To nestle himself in comfort, and swath himself in her scent was a wonder. A wonder, a privilege, and something he would absolutely enjoy at his leisure.
"Stick with me, and you'll be at a loss for words often," Dante boasted, squeezing her just a little tighter for but a moment. "It's a gift, one that's well worth using on you, and you alone."
Honesty was something that wasn't too difficult to come by from him, but this was truly something he had never expected to say. She had earned this from him, and he hoped that she remained. For there was so much more of him to 'earn', just as he knew the same went for her.

{♥} Of course, she was too speechless after the exchange to give a valid expression of her thoughts… Wow was the only thing she could manage.
Too many thoughts and emotions began running through her all at once upon the contact that she had been craving for so long. Though she had, at first, refused to acknowledge the feeling, it had grown so rapidly that there was no way to ignore it. While most of his actions towards her had been intended to tease, this felt sincere, driven by a passion she knew he must not have triggered much.
While she had been with a few men in her past, no form of contact had or would ever be able to cause the relief she immediately felt. Her skin began to almost tingle, her stomach fluttering as he held her. Unable to express her emotions verbally, she simply clung to him, never allowing her lips to break from his.
Though the wait felt like it had been an eternity, all of the wait became worth it in an instant. Nevertheless, Juliet was craving more, but she wasn’t exactly sure if she should suggest it. Sure, it would be more than enjoyable, but was she ready for it?
Only breaking away to get a breath, she smiled at him, hugging him tightly. “I can’t explain how great that was.~”

'Wow', if anything, was one of the bigger understatements that he had ever endured in his life.
The moment that their lips touched, he found himself overwhelmed with a great degree of things, far greater than a simple 'wow'. This moment had missed being his first kiss several hundred kisses ago, but it felt different than most of them. There was a sincerity to it that almost brought a sated whimper past his lips, which was no mean feat. Passion also took hold of it, but it was different than the usual sort. With their lips touching, he felt more than just the need for a simple tangle in the sheets. He felt more, and more was definitely better than he ever thought it would be.
At long last, through lovers lost or turned away, he had found someone. Someone that could bring him light, and comfort that he had never before sought out. Someone that was not afraid of him, and someone that could certainly lay him low with honesty. She did not fear him, she did not revere him, and she was not dependent on him. All she happened to be was herself, and she chose him.
To understand that was a powerful phrase, and when their lips left, he still longingly kept sight of her. For a moment, he thought to say something, but realized that words were nothing. Nothing at all compared to the action that had heated his body, and had emboldened his soul. Again, he looked to take her lips, displaying to her every ounce of enamoured feeling he had for her.
And in this, he swore to kiss her until his lungs, or her lungs could take no more.

{♥} She had no intentions to develop feelings for him as she did, but once they happened, there was absolutely no feeling of regret or even much fear. Something told her that he didn’t want to do anything but protect her, but that confirmation only strengthened her feelings for him. Of course, the age difference he claimed between them was no problem to her. Her dad was a few years older than her mom, what did it matter?
Waiting ever so calmly for his touch, Juliet said not a word, her breathing seemingly nonexistent as her calm demeanor began taking over. Normally, an excitement would be bubbling inside of her, so powerful that she wouldn’t be able to silence her heart to mask it all. It was even a surprise for her to be so calm at a moment like this.
Relief flowing through her as his touch finally came, Juliet became aware of her smile gradually appearing. Allowing him to lift her as he intended, his look brought a sense of both longing and relaxation to her. Never had she caught such a sight of truth in him, but it was a sight she could grow used to.
"I think you should definitely seal the deal. Maybe I’ve been waiting for it this whole time…" Juliet giggled, bringing herself closer to him before her hand placed itself on the back of his head, pushing him closer to her as their lips at last met. The contact felt as if it were a gesture she had been missing not only during their friendship, but through her past years.
Momentarily pulling away, Juliet’s breathing staggered, in a state of shock after the kiss. “Wow…~”

"If a couple of ghosts were all that it took for them to try to lock you way, then I'm sure they'd love the kind of stuff that I'm into. If they weren't busy passing out, they'd be recruiting any young kid that could handle a stick to hunt me down."
The idea of someone being hunted down over a different way of living was something he was not unfamiliar with. Being fingered as 'the devil child' at a young age practically confirmed that his own life was not to be a simple one. When his mother had been taken by Mundus, he was practically left alone, save for the chilled touch of his brother. Alone, he had to face the slings and arrows of the world, recovering from many a wound doled out because of it. This only made him feel all the more sympathetic towards Sally's struggles. He doubted that, when pressed, she could turn into a demotic entity to ward away even the most overzealous of his pursuers.
"Not much of a coffee drinker," Dante admitted. The taste of it wasn't something that sated his palette, and he usually had more than enough energy to handle the day on his own. His only exception to the rule happened to be when there was more 'Irish' in it than Ireland itself. "Why don't you surprise me?"
Dante might have grabbed for. . .something in this place, but he was quite concerned about the effects of doing so. Time had chastened him of his 'touch everything' approach to spooky scenarios, and left him with caution instead. Questions, once again, became his only currency, and with them, he looked to barter effectively.
"Speaking of surprise, is there anything else you can tell me about this place. I'd rather have a 'heads up' if it means avoiding something bigger than a few of your friends running their mouths at me."

"So, what you're telling me is that if I lean on one of these 'veils', I'll just fall in? Sounds like a bit of a pain, and from what you're saying, it sounds like I'm not going to have much luck getting out of here for a while."
Dante, being an expert in the fine art of 'getting stuck in places where he shouldn't have been stuck', took this news better than most would. A moment's irritation at his fate bled away into a moment of calm, and then a moment's introspection. If he was stuck here for a while, it made sense to learn the lay of the land. Or, that's what he would have been doing, if not for the pacing that appeared to overtake his guide aspirant's steps.
"If we're going to go on a coffee binge, I suppose a cup or two wouldn't kill me. Between everything else that's tried to kill me, it'll be an easier thing to tackle than most. More for me, I figure, also means less for you. And, that's probably a good thing. From the way you've wound yourself up, you'll probably start going through walls if you drink anymore," he commented, ever the soul of wit in situations like these. "Not that I'd complain about seeing a show like that."
When she spoke of memory loss, Dante could only shake his head. There was nothing in his mind that was scattered, or missing, much unlike the state of his body. While it might have felt out of sorts for its travel, he found his memories as sharp as ever. At this, he looked to lean against a wall bereft of anything hanging against it, and loosed yet another quip towards her.
"You know, if you were looking for my life story, all you had to do was ask."

Dante would have been lying if he expected her to say anything else. Since the moment they had met, he had understood there to be a spark between them. Whether he was chowing down on pizza, or winning a game of strip poker, that spark only grew in intensity. Sober, or drunk, it wasn't something he could quell, either. He couldn't be quite sure if the tingling feeling in his heart was love, but he knew that it was a sight better than lust. It was something, and it was something worth exploring.
When she confirmed, at last, that it was him, any pretentions to his hesitation failed in an instant. Normally, he wouldn't have waited for an out and out confirmation before making his move. But, what he felt for Juliet was more than a simple stab at normalcy. It was bigger than that, and far more valuable than a quick bang or two. He might have been rusty towards the steps beyond that, but he was willing to learn them all again.
She was worth the risk, and more than worth any hurt he'd suffer in the process. After so much sacrifice on his end, and many a suppression of his actual feelings, here perfection stood. To turn away from it again would be an unforgivable sin. As such, he deemed it the end of his flight. It was time for him to act, and thankfully, he was quite the actor.
Close to her as though he was, he found it a simple matter to link his hands around her waist. If successful, he'd pull her by it, and lift her, only so that he could meet her eye-level. And, if she allowed it, she would see him. She would see him with a smile that lacked arrogance, and a serenity that came from peace. Peace, and a sated sound brought out his reply at last.
"Then I guess I better seal the deal, shouldn't I?"
At last, his lips were moving, ready to seal themselves against her, and embrace all that he possibly could in her company.

{♥} It was a bit amusing to her, realizing that his current thoughts matched the burning intensity of her affections that she had held back for so long. Juliet had no problem admitting that she could fall rather quickly, but growing attractions were different than claiming a sort of love. Love was something she would take time to admit, but she knew passion when she felt it… All she wanted was to share that with him.
Expecting him in that moment to do what they both must have wanted, the absence of the action only added to any flustered emotions she had. She wanted assertive, but at the same time, knew the wait would be worth it if feelings were first discussed.
Raising her brow, Juliet’s head fell slightly to the side, a chuckle breaking through her lips. “I do have my eye on someone. I thought I made that pretty clear…” Pausing, she looked away, her silence intended to build his own anticipation.
Knowing well that he already had his answer, Juliet again took a break to tend to her nearly-finished lollipop. Giving the last bit a crunch, she swallowed the bits, stick remaining in her hand. Doing it all painfully slow, it took everything in her not to lose her composure.
"I mean, my little lecture to you before all of this started was to the point. If you weren’t the winner, as you say, why would I have been so flustered? You know it’s you!”

The only way he'd find someone better than her, in his eyes, was if she dropped dead. So long as she breathed in, and out, she stood on a pedestal that none could touch. All of her form appealed to him, and her attitude served to kick start his own. She was a live wire, and he was happy to be caught by her currents. None could ever think to equal the rhythm of his heart when he took sight of her. And, if he was lucky, none ever would.
In a normal situation, that would have been enough for him to seal the deal. In front of the eyes of all that looked past him, he would have made sure that Juliet was his. Whatever that meant for the students, and all those who wanted her mattered not to him. If he was to be assertive, that was what would have happened. Even so, he just needed a bit more mental encouragement before he acted.
"It sounds like you've got your eye on someone. If it's not one of these guys," Dante began, gesturing towards the school and its inhabitants. "Who is the lucky winner of your sweepstakes? I have to imagine that he's pretty stylish, if anything."
A not-so subtle hint never hurt anyone, and it continued the game he allowed them to play. Under the balmy heat of the day, he found his emotions just a little more set on her than usual. The sound and sight of anyone else was slowly blurred away, leaving only her in his mind. As compared to the rest of this place, he found it to be quite the improvement.
"I'm sure that you've just been dying to say what's on your mind."

{♥} “I’m sure that you could find someone even better than me at some point… But, I mean, if you’re sure about that, I’m definitely not going to complain!”
Beginning to grow suspicious of the meaning behind his words and touch, Juliet found herself with no disappointment in the little surprise he had arranged. It felt like he had the answer she waited for her entire life, and though she knew it wasn’t the case, she couldn’t fight the excitement billowing within her. If only he would hurry to the point…
His answer had to have been in her favor. If not, why would he continue his interactions with her as he had been? Teasing without purpose at this point would only lead to hurt for her, and he couldn’t do that to her… Unless everything he had said until this point had been a lie, and that was something she had been no stranger to.
Silent once again, Juliet’s lollipop again came to her lips, hidden away from sight as Dante began. Hoping not to distract herself, she refrained from indulging in her treat, instead staring intently at him before again freeing her mouth to speak. “Well, I don’t want the other guys, anyways, so I’m okay with them missing out!”

To say that he had been prepared for the deluge of information flooding his mind would have been a lie. As sharp as he was, he was also the sort of man that couldn't take on too much, too soon. All this talk about docile spirits, rage dolls, and metaphysical mumbo-jumbo was enough to force him to sit down. There was a lot to absorb in her words, especially with the peanut gallery chiming in now and again to muddle his mindset.
"I'm pretty much a living, and breathing hot spot, so I wouldn't put yourself down. With a life like the one I lead, something like this is guaranteed to happen every second Tuesday. Sometimes every week, if I'm unlucky," he commented passively. "But, as far as 'unlucky spells' go, this is better than most. You're looking pretty promising, all in all!"
As far as 'dolls' went, this one appeared to be a cut above the rest. At the least, she wasn't trying to split him from stem to sternum, as the others he ran into were wont to do. If others took after her example, his life would have been so much easier. While mulling this over, he took a sweeping gaze around this 'store', of sorts, before his attention was hers once again.
"About these 'hot spots'. . .how long do they usually last? Am I gonna be around here for enough time to drink a cup of coffee, or are we going to be fiddling around with this song and dance for months? Between the two, I'd pick the first, but the second's not so bad.
You're the best 'squishy and human' thing I've gotten to take a look at in a while."

"As far as the peanut gallery over there goes, I've seen worse. If dealing with a couple of chatterboxes was the worst of my problems, I'd never complain about anything again, Let 'em talk, for all I care. Either you silencing them, or me firing off one of my girls in the air will keep 'em quiet."
Having steeled himself against whatever the aforementioned could throw at him, he chose to deal with something that did make sense. This figure, so happened to be his ever so helpful 'greeter' in this strange world. If he was a worse man, he might have used this way in for all that it was worth. Thankfully, he was a man of (admittedly little) conscience, and as such, he could play nice. Especially when 'playing nice' rewarded him with such an easy sight on the eyes.
"Don't be so quick to put yourself down, either. I've seen weird, and I've felt weird. You, lady, are not even the closest thing to 'weird' in my books. Until you sprout a few ugly mugs, or turn into an oversized roach, you're fine. Just fine."
This place, for all of its wonder, did not overwhelm him. He was not afraid, nor was he suspicious. As a matter of fact, he found himself quite at ease. If the world could have been like this, less of an abuser, and just more. . .annoying, he might have liked that. A click of his tongue brought him back to reality, and towards all that swirled his aide of sorts.
"So. . .'Pumpkin Queen', how long have you been playing gatekeeper to guys like me?"

"My mom always did say that I was gonna be something special when I grew up. I guess that 'strong energy reading' is just an example of me being special."
Out of all the ghastly creatures he had ever encountered, he found them to be more. . .demure than most. The majority of spectral entities he encountered were not nearly as well behaved. Then again, he also tended to hunt down the spirits that weren't so well behaved, so it was something of a self fulfilling prophecy. Prophetic or not, he found it prudent to stay here. While he didn't see this place as the life of the party, it held his interest all the same.
Her efforts to practically 'force' the words out of her system were met with an interested cant of the head, but nothing more. If he was to remain here, then he'd learn the lay of that land. And he swore that he'd do it with style, even with those spirits hissing at him! Just when he thought he'd have to lay down some phantasmal discipline, this individual managed to cow them all with a simple phrase.
"Not bad!" Dante's exuberant exclamation was met by light applause, and a shifting of his weight from one side to the next. "When did you learn that trick?"

"Getting snatched up by any other cheerleader would mean having to blow you off. It'd take a hell of a cheerleader to try that, and they'd still end up falling on their face."
Today was a different day, and he approached it with a different attitude. The teasing remained, but unlike his prior instances, there was a purpose behind them. Unlike the past, the touch of his body against hers wasn't for the simple sake of empty satisfaction. She had infected him with purpose, and their outings were to reflect such a thing. Now, if his tongue could only stop itself from being so tied, he'd be able to say what was on his mind, and be done with it!
Of course, life had not been easy on him in the ways of attraction, or perhaps it had  been much too easy. The 'givens' of life, of women, and of the 'give' of a particular bed had keyed him into attraction of a particular short. Said attraction was short, barely enough to fill a thimble's worth of actual romance, and it was over generally before he knew it. Until Juliet, and all of her amusing idiosyncrasies showed up, he believed that was all his life would ever amount to.
Beds and badassery, while fun in the short term, lefft him rather empty in the long term. Had his age addled his mind, or was this blonde simply so wonderful. His decision-making process eventually decided both, and acted further under that knowledge. He looked to sling an arm against her shoulder, and prepared himself for what he was to say next. Honesty didn't really come easily to him, but to her, he'd struggle through it all.
"Those guys at school are missing out, because you're better than any damn 'squeeze' they could get," he promptly began. "And if you want to know why I'm here, you only need to look at yourself. It's just that simple~."

{♥} “Well, you never know! I mean, any other cheerleader could snatch you up at any moment, I’m sure…”
Wondering to herself if he felt the same tension as she did, Juliet almost lost complete track of any words that wanted to leave her mouth and fill his ears. Though she wanted to express how glad she was to see him again, her lips instead clung to her lollipop, as if scanning the treat for some form of an answer. What would she do if he decided against acting upon whatever feelings he had? It wouldn’t only be awkward, but she would have lost a friend, something she never hoped for.
Unaware that her enjoyment of her candy had such effect on him, Juliet continued at her habit. Her consumption grew even worse when worried, and it was easy to admit that was all she had been.  Somehow even oblivious to his widening pupil, the only real thing she noticed was his change in breathing. That alone was enough to set her curiosity aflame.
Eyes trailing to his coat as it moved with the wind, Juliet felt her lip curl in a smirk, a giggle coming from her as he bumped against her. Accident or not, she would never mind his contact, finding it to be something that always either put her at ease or… Well, did the damage he intended.
Brows furrowing to meet above the bridge of her nose, Juliet removed her candy from her mouth, shooting Dante a puzzled look. “What? No, I’m not on a hot date! Eugh, I can’t stand the guys at this school. But… What made you decide to come here out of the blue? Something happen?”
