He blamed himself for using the vanilla syrup instead of caramel syrup during that big influx of orders…and that’s roughly how he got the coffee stain on his shirt and apron.

“…I-I not good at co-hee…b-but I-I h-had to help…m-many ordahs…”

The drink she had wasn’t overly sweet but to the peach boy, the original customer did have good reason to believe that the caramel syrup complimented the beverage well. A touch of sweetness to the bitter drink did wonders…or was supposed to. Characters were very picky about how their drinks and meals come out.

“Nonsense. They’re still a moron. There’s something called manners, you know.” 

Her voice lifted in pitch as she ordered a pretend coffee, mocking the rude customer. “Excuuuuse me, I noticed my drink is the wrong flavour, could I get another?” Cereza gestured wildly with her free hand, rolling her eyes again as she spoke. “It’s that bloody easy.”

“Anyway, what would you like to do on your break, my little fruit?”

“Wanya??” The Waddle Dees up at the registers were startled at the intrusion…and then seeing that Momotaro was whisked away. They looked to each other with concern until one of the customers asked, “Hey, you gonna take my order?”

…They were met with befuddlement, and some annoyance.

As for the peach boy, he let out a squeak when he was scooped up by the witch. He takes a moment to process the situation…

….scooped up by familiar arms…offered familiar lollpop…that very *cup* that he remade was in one of the hands…the peculiar hairdo and glasses…

“M-Miss Reza??” He uttered in both shock and awe.

Seems like the one Bayonetta he trusted had returned.

“Miss me? Oh, who am I kidding, of course you did. Sorry I was gone so long. Pesky angels, you know.” She pat one of Momotaro’s legs reassuringly, sipping at her stolen iced coffee.

Bayonetta turned her head slightly to peer up at the boy on her shoulders, raising an eyebrow as she spoke. “What was that moron’s problem, anyway? Honestly. People need to learn to respect employees.” 

She rolled her eyes, smiling up at Momotaro as she kept walking, heading in the direction of the garden. Sometimes you just need a break from work.

And here we have Momotaro with a huge coffee stain on his uniform. Fortunately this was formerly a cutely decorated cup of iced latte, so no burning sensations here.

Was he crying? He was a few moments ago, but he’s determined to get back to work regardless…despite his unsightly appearance. But his hands and face are washed and hair was tied back, so he’s …sort of raring to go.

A Waddle Dee does peek at the boy in concern, but they had to resume taking orders from customers. Even if the one who threw the cup may still be around.

The kitchen staff just had to keep working to make sure everyone was fed well…that was their job.

There was a loud CRASH from the dining room, a yelp and another crash. That particular customer won’t be coming back here any time soon.

Cereza appeared in the doorway to the kitchen, casually smoothing out her hair with one hand, an iced coffee in the other. Did she pay for that? Probably not, but whoever had it before didn’t deserve it anyway.

“Momotaro’s taking his break now. He’ll be back later.” Without any hesitation, she picked him up one handed and placed him on her shoulders. A lollipop was produced and handed to Momo, the witch smiling as she walked out of the kitchen, peach boy aquired.
