sorry for inactivity! this week has been extremely busy for me, and this weekend is packed too.

i'm working on a masterpost for lukas's neurological conditions, but let it be known that he has memory issues and they'll get worse with time.

it'll never get to a point where he won't be able to function or have any sliver of independence. but epilepsy meds and eventually surgery will do a huge number on lukas's short term- and long term in some aspects- memory, which is already pretty shot from TLE and his TBI (and ADHD too, which can mess with that).

if you befriend lukas, you'll have to learn to put aside your offense when he forgets important things. i know he's a man, but he's got valid excuses to forget your pet frog's birthday.

fun fact: dyslexia interacts heavily with short term memory function. so you can't make fun of the way lukas spells either. don't you dare. (it's funny. do it.)

lukas sort of looked at eli like he was crazy. how could he ever suggest such a thing? of course they were friends, duh, but lukas asking for help? never.

he leaned back on the park bench, scuffing his feet on the pavement below him. it was hard to act like this stupid thing wasn’t bugging him. and of course, lukas was the one that brought this conversation on himself anyway. he does want help. he just has a hard time getting there.

“well,” lukas began, clearing his throat slightly. “i’m boutta turn twenty, you know? big whoop, an’ all.” that’s later this month; the 28th, to be exact. “i asked for no big parties this year, and i mean it, but—” he sighs. “do you think it’s depressing if i don’t wanna do anythin’? i kinda just, want it to be another day. z'at seem weird to you?”

leave it to lukas, mr. ego, to be insecure. truth be told, he’s a very insecure man if you dig deep.

lukas was quick to take the napkins from her as blood continued to spill quickly out of his nose. he did as instructed, using one hand to cup the bottom of his nose with his napkinned palm and pinching the bridge at the same time. he tilted his head back slightly, feeling some warm substance dribble down the back of his throat.

he swallowed thickly, eyeing the woman. “just caught me by surprise,” he replied. “you should see him,” lukas continued, somehow managing a somewhat smug look under the wad of napkins covering his face. “he ran like i was a fuckin’ lion n’ he was a mouse. hah!”  the confident look on his face grew more obvious at that, even though he sounded funny talking through a pinched nose.

naomi  was  standing  at  a  taco  stand  waiting  for  her  order  when  the  fight  broke  out.  she  simply  glanced  over  at  the  guys,  smirk  forming  at  how  pathetic  they  handled  themselves.  not  that  she  was  by  any  means  a  competent  fighter,  but  the  sloppiness  of  the  hits  was  mildly  amusing.  she  paid  for  her  food  and  stood  against  a  nearby  building,  chewing  and  watching the drama unfold.  the  girl's  who  had  instigated  the  whole  thing  eventually  walked  off  and  naomi  sighed.  the  guy  left  behind  was  bleeding  pretty  badly.  her  brows  raised  when  he  called  out  for  help,  addressing  her.  she  held  up  a  hand,  tossing  the  taco  wrapper,  and  grabbed  a  handful  of  napkins  from  the  stand.  “here.  pinch  it  at  the  top  and  hold  your  head  back.”  naomi  instructed  with  a  frown.  “shit,  he  really  got  you  good.”

honestly, i would kind of love to explore the (anti-?)villain!lukas AU. he could be associated with the brotherhood of evil mutants, or just some more rag-tag team that's inspired by magneto/mystique's team. i think it would be cool if he had a larger role though than just street shenanigans.

i'm leaning on the idea of the leader of the brotherhood (whoever it may be at the time), finding him after he unlocked his powers— which is a whole other story— and taking him in at just 12 years old. not as a team member right away, but i'm sure he made a field appearance when he was young. 14 or 15. yeah yeah...

i think it would be funny if lukas ended up in a relationship where it seemed like they argued too often to keep it together but really, it’s just their way of keeping things interesting 🔥 (it’s never as serious as they made it seem)

“i’m just glad i ran into one of you, not the both of you,” lukas says, scoffing slightly as he pokes a finger at his injury. as much as lukas likes being doted on by his friends— or anyone really (though he will never admit it), kie and layla together would have been too much. way too much.

it’s easier to mess with khione when she’s on her own..

lukas crosses his arms and leans against the cool brick wall. “oh, i’ll be here,” he tells her easily. “got no where else to be ‘cept right here.”

well, it’s true. the only reason why he lingers around the school is because he has friends here and the teachers sort of felt sorry for him. lukas doesn’t like people feeling sorry for him, but if it works to his benefit, then he lets it slide. 

at least he tries to be helpful around the campus when he can be. when he feels like being anything more than a loitering nuisance. 

“take your time,” lukas say,  then lifts a finger, “but not too much time. don’t want the infection gettin’ to my brain, y’know.” 

he’s not serious. he’s really not, but he sounds like he is— just to see if khione will hurry up. he sends her off with a lazy wave, smirking to himself.

"no, i meant afterwards---" but the conversation is already moving on at a break-neck pace. and don't think she doesn't spot that amused smirk tugging at his lips, mister twister!

he's not about to keel over if he can look amused at the way she's almost going cross-eyed over this.

gods, what she wouldn't give for the people in her life to take care of themselves, for once. if only to spare her cold little heart.

"okay," khione says, holding up her hands, "ixnay to both of those. got it." for a moment, his eyes go as wide as hers had been before his grin returns, slow and lopsided.

"be glad you ran into me and not layla," is all that khione says in response. "williams, not miller." the only reason she's biting her tongue as much as she is? because he's hurt, obvi. "one ice-pack and antibiotic cream, coming up. stay here, don't move, and so help me, gods, if you're gone by the time i get back, i'll be freezing all your drinks for a week, gōrā."

and with that said, she's off like a shot. time is of the essence, after all.

the fight actually hadn’t been that intense. it wasn’t like lukas was picking himself off the ground, limb by limb, but the other guy had caught him by surprise and landed a good knuckle-punch to the nose. 

lukas wasn't purposely causing any trouble, not like he sometimes did. honestly, he was sort of just flirting with this girl and her friend, and out of nowhere this dude— drunk as hell before the sun was fully down— was throwing hands. a jealous ex, it seemed. a guy who couldn’t fight for his life if he depended on it. the man had fled the second lukas grabbed him by the collar and sent him to the ground with a punch-kick combo.

it was rewarding to see the guy scramble away while lukas waved off help from the girls. “i’m fine,” lukas had told them. it looked like they wanted to leave anyway. 

of course his nose had delayed bleeding right until they’d turned the corner. a hand flew up to his nostrils the second he felt a warm substance dribble down onto his lip. shit. 

“hey, ma’am— miss!” he called out to the first person he saw walking by. “d’ya have a tissue?” lukas asked, pressing the back of his hand to his bleeding nose.

lukas has a minor speech impediment. it's not prominent enough that i'll write it in rp— unless his speech is slurred or tired, in which it gets worse— but it's there if your character's ear is able to catch it!

he has a lateral lisp, the kind were /s/ and /z/ sound like /sh/ and /zh/. so like "sleep" turns to "schleep" or "dogs" is "dogzh".

like i said, it's mild, but most people notice it after hearing him speak for awhile. he knows he has it too, and he's kind of insecure about it. sometimes lukas will spend time practicing articulation and correct placement for the /s/ and /z/ sounds. he knows what he needs to do to get rid of the lisp, but it's takes a lot of effort and focus when he's just trying to relax and talk to people without forcing himself to speak a certain way.
