Got a request, Jess Black react to the Judge aka the Deputy has renounced Joseph but has become a bigger tool: A Division agent. This going from the Deputy to the Agent.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is based off Tom Clancy’s The Division.
Jess is very confused at first. She isn’t sure what the Division is and needs a quick run down of what it is. After learning what it is and how they’re supposed to ensure the government continues after a catastrophic emergency, she’s not too against it.
The government isn’t an inherently evil thing and with the right people in place, the world can thrive and prosper with everybody in mind. It also definitely explains how they’re so skilled with every weapon they get their hands on and how they know how to craft all the weaponry as well.
She doesn’t like them being a tool though in any fashion. Yeah, getting humanity back on its’ feet is a good thing, but being a tool of some mystery faction is just as bad.
Overall she’s very iffy about it. On one hand, their skills and goal is a good thing and on the other, being a tool is always bad. She wants to help them in the end, though, and help get humanity back in good shape.

This might sound a little trigger warning-ish but....AU where David sent Chloe to a reformatory school where she got abused to the point she's "normal" with David finding out and getting her out with Chloe acting borderline emotionless and catatonic also stays in her house the whole day until Max visits her in her home with Chloe having signs of recovery.
Okay, I really like this idea (because I’m a slut for anything angsty XD) so I’ma do a short little drabble.
Chloe is sitting still on the couch next to me, and she hasn’t moved an inch since I walked through the door. Hell, she didn’t even come up to say hi… she’s just sitting there, staring off into the abyss with absolutely no emotions registering on her face.
“Chlo?” I whisper shyly.
“Yes, Maxine?” she replies in a monotone, almost robotic voice.
I swallow hard when she uses my real name, something she’s never done before, not even when we were kids. It’s been 5 years since we’ve seen each other so why does it feel like I’m sitting next to a total stranger?, I ask my self, subtly and quietly shifting away from the blonde haired girl.
“Are you upset at me?”.
She turns her head to me and stares at me with dull, greyish eyes, “No. Not talking to me was your choice. I respect it”.
I can’t help but whimper a little, You’re not Chloe… Chloe would have been pissed at me, she would have made me feel like shit for leaving then make me feel better because neither of us could stand being upset at each other.
I nod and turn away, staring down at my hands that rest on my lap. “Okay…”.
Chloe has… changed drastically in the last 5 years, and even though I’ve only been back in Arcadia Bay for less than 3 weeks, I can tell that she didn’t exactly have the best time growing up while I was away. For one, Joyce (Chloe’s mom) remarried an elitist prick who, after Chloe started acting out against his authority a few years ago, sent her off to some sort of reformatory school.
I’d done a little research on the place during my free time and found that the whole school had a long history of abuse allegations, teachers, and staff mistreating students, beating them for disorderly conduct and starving them for bad behavior and defiance.
I’ll give the man credit for pulling her out when things got too violent, but that still doesn’t excuse the fact that he sent her there in the first place.
I shudder when I think about Chloe being in that situation.I believe everything I read online and it scares me to think of the horror she saw, heard…felt. She’s so skinny now, and even though she graduated last year (From Blackwell thank god), and finally escaped the clutches of that horrid school, she hasn’t been able to gain any of the weight of muscle mass she once had. She’s super jumpy too, loud noises scare her more than they scare me. The rebellious little girl I I fell in lo-… I mean, the rebellious girl I grew up with is gone. Now, all that’s left is the husk of a person I used to know.
But the feelings are still there.
“So… I go to Blackwell now,” I say, knowing she already knows this, I’m just desperate for conversation, “I got into the photography program there… “.
“That’s great, Maxine. School and study are important, so be sure to do well. I know you’re more than capable to succeed. Do you enjoy the classes there?”.
I blush a little at her slight praise and shrug, “I mean… yeah, it’s still high school though. People are… rude and arrogant, but… I try to just ignore it”.
“People are … mean to you?”.
I turn to Chloe who’s looking at me again, her brows slightly furrowed in concern. I stare at her for a moment before nodding, deciding not to tell her about the time someone scrawled “Dyke” on my locker. “Um… yeah, but I try not to let it bother me,”.
“Do you stand up for yourself?”.
Chloe has fully turned herself to me now. It’s the most I’ve seen her move in weeks.
“N- No…”.
“Why…”.
I can’t help but chuckle. “It’s me, Chloe. Shy, cliche geek, Max Caulfield. No one is going to listen”.
Suddenly my hands are in Chloe’s and she’s staring at me with sharp, icy blue eyes which seem to have regained their full color. “You’re stronger than you think, Max. Don’t… don’t let the bullies win”.
I blink in slight shock. “You… you called me Max”.
Chloe’s eyes grow wide again, her eyes now returning to their faded, grey color, “Sorry. I meant, Maxine. My bad”.
I look down and sigh, watching as she removes her hands from mine and sits back up, going completely stock-still beside me. It’s a start, I think, seeing that she’s trying to recover from her momentary slip-up.
We continue to talk for a while after that, and when Joyce gets home, Chloe gets up and helps her wash dishes and prepare dinner, something I don’t think I’ve ever seen her do. David,(her asshole stepfather) watches her actions with slight concern.
You hurt her, you asshole, you knew exactly what you were doing when you sent her there. You got her out but you’re doing nothing to help her. I’m not going to give up on her like all of you did. Because unlike you, she means something to me.
Dinner is quiet, Joyce, David, and Chloe tell each other about their day, which for Sargent Dickhead is busting students at Blackwell for various misdemeanors, for Joyce, it’s your normal asshole truckers at the diner, and for Chloe, it’s staying inside and working on college courses online. I stay quiet, feeling as if I’m no longer welcomed in the family I grew up alongside
“Hey, Chloe? Before I go, can I tell you something,” I say as we slowly make our way to the front door after our meal, Chloe opting to see me out.
I pause on the porch, the front door shut tightly behind us and take a deep breath.
“Of course, Maxine. You can tell me anythi- ?!”.
I cut her words off with a kiss, something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I feel her lips stiffen up for a fraction of a second before they naturally reciprocate. It feels nice kissing her without fear of David catching us because god forbid he found out one of Chloe’s only real-life friends was gay… well, bi but Chloe’s the only one for me.
When I pull away, Chloe has her eyes closed and I watch as a visible breath passes over her lips. That makes me smirk and giggle a little…
“I love you” I whisper, taking a small step back, knowing it’s going to take a few moments for her to catch up with what happened… and by that time she’ll be back to her scared, brainwashed self, trying to forget that she has any free will over her own life.
Fuck you, David. I’m going to get her back.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, alright?” I tell her, taking another step back.
She nods, her eyes still closed.
“‘Corse. I can’t wait…”.
I smile and walk towards the sidewalk, leaving a stunned, lovestruck Chloe in my wake.
No matter how long it takes, Chloe. I’m going to get you back.
If you guys want me to continue this, let me know cause I’m really enjoying this idea XD

Description: With just one shot, she was free and she has much to atone for. Starting with her family. The Deputy was back....and another chapter is opening.
Be sure to reblog!
@red-king-4 @oh-the-bliss @lovely-murderous-innerbeast @max-amber @masterhuntressjessblack
There is only the justice of Gods hand. End this vicious cycle....Give me God’s justice.....Release me.....
And with that one fatal shot to the chest, it was finished before the former Deputy’s eyes and it was a relief. Joseph Seed was gone and slain by the hands of her niece who is wearing her old outfit from before, karma at its finest. The body of the cult leader falls on the ground as Patty knows the spirits of Whitehorse, Hudson, and Pratt alongside every other victim of Project At Eden’s Gate can rest easy now....it was all over. The former Judge looks at the burning tree with her niece then kneels in front of Joseph with tears in her eyes knowing it was all over....she was free.
Max sadly looks at the supposed shell of her former shell of her aunt seeing that she’s far too gone now but those tears weren’t for Joseph, they were tears of victory and she was victorious indeed. It was only for a few seconds before the deputy gets up and leave the burning tree of Eden while heading down never looking back as Max looks back then looks ahead and walks with her aunt. It was a silent trek down with Max not knowing what’s going through her head assuming it’s sadness but it was more like resisting the urge to dance....
The bar at Roughneck Craig is packed of the Guns For Hire as Max Caulfield sits on a stool drinking some scotch. Her head still hurts from all of the outpost liberating, expeditions, and so much more because of her powers. But it was a victory after all, a Pyrrhic victory at that. New Eden is in ashes with many homeless but are finding homes in Prosperity, the Highwaymen still at large but no longer a threat, yet her aunt is still stuck in the prison that is her mind plus Max has gotta get back to California or send a message telling them what happened to Rush. She wishes pastor Jerome was here so she can talk to him but he’s gone doing a prayer service with the New Edeners. Carmina sits beside Max causing her to turn around.
“Something the matter? You haven’t talked since you got here. Don’t try to hide it, there’s lots of smiles in this place and you stand out among them.” Carmina spoke grabbing Max’s attention. She could always just rewind again but she had to be honest with herself and Max is always open to her emotions. The Irish-American sighs to Carmina....
“I know we should be happy and all. We’ve been through so much....yet this doesn’t feel like a victory. Everything is over and done with....yet it feels hallow.” Max replied to Carmina while taking a sip.
“I know what you’re thinking of: The Judge. Listen, I know she’s been through a lot and you thought slaying Joseph Seed would work. It takes time to recover, to heal. I’m sure she’ll get around.” Carmina advised while Max lowers her eyes looking at the reflection at herself in the glass.
“The last time I spoke to her was when I was thirteen years old and she yelled at me.” To that comment, Carmina Rye loaded her assault rifle.
“Excuse me, I’m gonna find her.” Carmina bluntly announced but Max gently grabs her shoulder and pushes her back to her seat.
“It was justified. Very justified....A friend who would turn out to be my wife’s father died, she was broken and I left her in the middle of it. Patty was waiting in Seattle to help us unpack with her friends Pratt and Hudson, she talked to me in private....and I told her everything. An argument broke out between my mom, dad, and I got wrapped in it....she called us cowards saying that we abandoned her and her mom with my mom slapping her in the process while her friends held her back then telling her to leave. I started crying not because she was being mean....but she was right....” Max begins to tear up with her face turning red.
“I abandoned my friend and when I returned, it was the greatest weeks of my life to the point I married her. But she wasn’t there....maybe she hated me and cut off all ties with the family. She did shoot me a letter with a congratulations text on a card before going to do a raid on Seed. I just didn’t know....she would here....I thought she died in the Collapse.....but it turns out I was wrong....and I don’t know if I have the courage to talk to her.....” She begins to sob while Carmina’s eyes widen in confusion then lower in understanding then hugs the crying captain. Nana peers through the entrance upon hearing what happened while adjusting her glasses alongside Gina, Timber, Horatio and Hurk.
“Hey Max, I just wanna know: We’re with you.” Gina assured while Timber cuddles against her leg alongside Horatio.
Pastor Jerome places a cross on what used to be the settlement known as New Eden while the remaining residents stand beside him singing Amazing Grace as he walks to find some bodies to bury. This was his new flock after all and they needed him the most right now....he stops at the Judge’s house hoping she’d be there. The house is full of essentials like a fireplace she made for herself and table....yet something catches his eyes: A broken bow on the ground. He tilts his head at the sight but even more is a broken mask. Jerome kneels and touches the remains for a moment before realizing what this means....he shakes his head while smiling.
“......Welcome back Deputy.” He whispered.
Max fires her silenced SA-50 sniper rifle at the target with Nana who smiles at the pseudo-deputy who has taken her aunt’s place. Gina on the other hand is busy smoking but spots someone walking up to them, it’s a woman with grey-ish black hair with a pony tail wearing an alley rat jacket and pants from that stolen suit Max got from that crashed paladin. On her back is a sniper rifle just like Max except it’s an MB-50. Gina has never seen this woman before and she looks like trouble.
“What do you want?” Gina asks the woman who looks around while she smiles. That goofy smirk of hers reminds her of Hurk for a moment alongside an aura of familiarity....The woman leans over behind Gina then places her hands on her hips.
“I see Hurk chose wisely just like I did. Maybe it’s because we’re into the bad girls ya’know?” She said causing Gina to grip her machine but realizes she knows Hurk from out of nowhere. Gina remembers how Hurk and the Deputy aka Patty would hangout with a hooded chick named Jess Black all the time and implied to have had sex.
“Wait a minute....you’re.....” Hurk walks from behind carrying a glass of scotch but pauses for a moment before having a mischievous smile on his face before turning to Max who is reloading for a moment.
“Hey Max, you gotta visitor. Said she knows you! A lot!” The redneck called causing Max to turn around. The brunette walks over while the black haired woman crosses her arms and smiles at her causing Max to pause for a moment. She walks in front of her and stops....
“Annnnd.....hug. Like seriously, hug it out now.” Hurk implored while Nana looks at Hurk confused but realizes who it is.
“If you two don’t hug then I swear I’ll glue you both together!” Nana chimed before Max grabs her and holds her close with tears in her eyes. The black haired woman is caught off guard for a moment then returns the hug and smiles....
“Welcome back, aunt Patty....” Max croaked before Patty shushes her and caresses the back of her hair.
“Hey it’s okay, it’s okay. I was always here, I waited for the right time otherwise the Highwaymen would find out....but I’m here. Always was and always will be.” Patty assured while holding her tight and sniffs. Walking behind her is a blonde woman with grey streaks and a worn out jacket and bow on her back.
“Oh damn Jess Black! Out of nowhere!” Hurk saw causing Jess to roll her eyes for a moment.
“It’s Jess Caulfield now. I’ll explain it later but for now, let’s enjoy the moment.” Jess sighed looking at her fiance and her niece-in-law. Jerome arrives on his sidecar and walks up the hill to the bar and opens his mouth with the intent to find out where the Judge is but standing before him wasn’t the Judge. He closes his mouth knowing the Judge was gone and standing before him is the Deputy who saved their town years ago with the only family she has left.....
And she was free.

Here she is! Post New Dawn Patty aka Deputy Patricia Caulfield.
Name: Patricia “Patty” Caulfield.
Age: 46
Biography: After the fall of New Eden, Patty has never been more free than before. Joseph trapped her in her mind that was full of guilt at yelling at Max for leaving Chloe but that all changed when she arrived, the “Father” is gone, New Eden burned, and the Twins except for Mickey left Hope County as the chapter begins to close. She’s been looking out for rumors of a certain international CTU she was rejected in still active also doing operations and a group called the Strategic Homeland Division. But there’s more work to be done with the Highwaymen still out there but they have to look out now....cause the Deputy is back.
Personality: Patty is sort of back to her normal self after years of sticking with Joseph as a husk of her former self because she no longer could forgive herself for yelling at Max. She still has aspects of her bubbly personality but has matured throughout the years yet she is haunted by dreams of Joseph which still plague her till this day of course. Patty is also back to being flirty as hell yet is now a fully committed relationship with Jess Black who she loves deeply although they are in an open relationship but she’ll always pick her over some chick.
Relationships: Max Caulfield (Niece and bridesmaid) Jess Black (Wife) Pastor Jerome (Friend and father figure) Hurk Drubman Jr. (Best friend and best man at wedding) Sharky Boshaw (Best friend and best man) Kim Rye (Friend and bridesmaid) Nick Rye (Best friend and best man) Carmina Rye (Goddaughter and bridesmaid) Nana (Friend) Gina Guerra (Friend) Grace Armstrong (Friend)

“Hey Max?” The downed paladin should’ve been a warning sign that something was off yet it was more familiar to the Deputy....now she wishes she should’ve known.
“Yeah auntie?”
“As much as you like your new outfit and all, I suggest you should take it off once its owner turns up and I highly doubt he’s dead.” Patty advised.

Patty In New Dawn Headcanons
Patty feigned her guilt over the collapse, she thinks it was a coincidence. Her REAL guilt was over the fact she yelled at Max and never saw her again.
She contemplated on killing Joseph numerous times but gave up. Although she won’t hesitate on using Ethan.
When Joseph left, she hoped he would be dead like Ethan.
Patty tries to talk to her niece numerous times but relents because she has no words to say and if she has something, she’ll doubt herself so she keeps quiet until this is all over.
Max thinks she hates her for leaving Chloe, it’s not true. Patty loves Max a whole lot and Nick Rye knows it, especially how she would brag about how her niece got into Blackwell Academy in her dreams to become a photographer.
She gets flashbacks of how she yelled at Max and causes her to cry resulting in Nana comforting her.
Nana found out that she was her aunt and immediately lectured her that the past can’t be changed so she’ll have to talk with her niece despite burning bridges with her.
Hurk knows Max a whole lot because Patty would brag too even Jerome knows. The moment the name Captain Max Caulfield was dropped, everyone knew and Jerome too, almost as if God sent another Deputy to save them all.
When Max killed Joseph, Patty took off the mask then threw it away before destroying her bow symbolizing that the Judge is gone and the Deputy has returned.
She started wearing her typical Militia outfit and tactical pants then ran into Jess Black during an expedition. The two had the best makeup sex ever.
