As a guy with a Goodra... Yeah, do not get any dragon types until you're already a fairly experienced trainer. They're a pain to take care of, and really difficult to actually train for battle. Goodra especially. If you're thinking of getting a Goomy or anything else in that line, make sure you're okay with literally everything you own being covered in goop that you have to clean daily. And make sure they're not allowed in any rooms with electronics in them. That goop can and will short-circuit any tech it comes in contact with.

I’ve only ever had a furret before but i’m thinking of getting a dragon type. what do you recommend?

"ive only ever raised meowths but im thinking of getting an incineroar or a zangoose. what do you recommend?" thats what you sound like. the only dragon type really suited for beginners is applin. anything else should wait until you have more experience raising pokemon.

Intro/Info Post

Hey, my name's Derek. I'm a professional Pokemon Trainer as well as studying to be a Professor. My current focus is the differences between wild and trained Pokemon. My team right now consists of: Sync (Reuniclus, Male) My partner and lifelong friend. He was a gift from my dad, who's a Pokemon daycare worker. Sync was originally just an egg, and I had to hatch him myself. Ever since then, we've been pretty much inseperable. Although he does love to mock and tease me a lot, since he's got access to telepathy. Although he does also use that ability to translate what Pokemon are saying for me. Wisteria (Trevenant, Female) Caught her as a Phantump on a trip to Alola. Me and Sync found her being bullied by a few Ghastly, so we took care of them. Little guy stuck around ever since, even now that she's not so little anymore... Spriks (Galvantula, Female) Originally found as a Joltik in Chargestone cave. Me and my family were on a visit to Icirrus, so we had to pass through. I guess she just fell off the ceiling into my hood and like Wisteria, refused to leave. Bit too big for the hood now though. Suds (Azumarill, Female) Definitely the powerhouse of the group. Huge Power is a devastating passive ability for this thing, plus the fact it knows belly drum... Pretty sadistic in nature. Originally caught her because as a Marill, she managed to get bullied by a group of Murkrow. I trained her to be stronger after that, but at this point I think I might have gone too far. Rio (Lucario, Male) Yes, yes, I know, uncreative name. But I didn't actually name him. He was uh... rather forcefully handed to me by some guy running by on the street, along with a note. Turns out Rio was the runt of the litter, and his original trainer didn't want him because of that. Too bad for him though, because with some training he's a great member of our team. Slippy (Goodra, Male) Despite Goodra's friendly disposition normally, Slippy is actually quite shy. He tends to hide behind Wisteria in new situations, since she's basically his best friend. In battle though, he's still quite the powerhouse. When battling, it's like he's a whole new 'mon. I caught him when we were on a visit to Kalos. It was raining, and he just... fell out of the sky and somehow fell through the ceiling through our friend's house's chimney. We think he got dropped by a Talonflame that got spooked by the thunder. Anyways, sorry for the long intro post. My asks are open for whatever you guys feel like asking.
