Chapter 1: Positioning the Researcher
Define which field of design you want to pursue? What type of industries or problem areas interest you? List your strengths as a designer and consider what type of design career this might lead to.
A field of design that I want to start my career in is Marketing and start-ups I want to work on software development. Some industry with problems that interest me are Covid-19 with covid-19 affecting supply chains it limits the options of choice which in return affects the supply and demand chain which leads to more expensive products for the general mass to purchase. Some strengths I say I would have my communication skills with peers, sufficient user testing of my current project, being very tech driven which allows me to want to test new ways of achieving my goal, I believe another skill of mine would be experimenting which goes with being tech driven. With these in attributes in mind I think the design career I would want to pursue is working in startup companies as well as website design and branding.
I want to create a platform that allows users to have access to healthier and more sustainable food options via produce delivery or food delivery.
AIM: With the drastic change to our daily lives due to Covid-19 the masses have adapted to a more shut-in lifestyle only venturing outside for essential needs and services. Currently, ordering takeout is as simple as a click of a button while ordering fresh produce is both a hassle and a long and tedious process with very limited options which leaves large amounts of food waste. Most of the options for current food delivery apps allows you to click one button and the food would arrive in ten to twenty minutes, I want to create a platform which has a similar aspect to this ease of use but with a health focused twist. The problem with produce ordering platforms is not that they are hard to use its the limitations it carries with its format it forces the user to stick with one specific recipe or cooking with ingredients that are unfamiliar to the user which is why the more reason users are more hesitant to use these platforms they are inclined to use the delivered goods once delivered which limits their lifestyle.
My aim is to provide a platform that allows the user to have a produce delivery service that caters to their needs and lifestyle my goal isn’t to stop users from eating from food delivery app but to give them a healthy alternative that allows them to experiment with cooking and trying new things while style catering to their lifestyle which is the main focus of my project
Inexpensive food consumption is probably the biggest contributor to poor diets this
Food and beverage/food catering
