[ It's really frustrating to be where I'm at mentally rn. Because I want to be here and on discord writing/creating with other people. I want to have fun and play and do things I enjoy. But the current sociopolitical climate as well as my work experience deteriorating my mental and physical health is making that impossible. I don't find joy in the things that I like to do because I'm so fucking exhausted by the external experiences I have all around me on a 24/7 basis.

And it pisses me off. I'm so fucking sick of feeling tired all the time. For fucks sake please give me a god damn break. If I could promote up to a less emotionally demanding role, I'd feel significantly better but so far I've been rejected by 5 of the 7 internal roles that I've applied for in the past month without so much as an interview.

Please fucking pray for me that something changes soon and I'm given a fucking break whether that's through a promotion or I win the god damn lottery and can quit my job forever. ]

"Country music?" He scratches the back of his head, wondering why he was being asked about this all of a sudden. "Eh... I don't hate it, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan either. Most of it is pretty same-y in my experience, but now and then you come across some really good ones."

She wanted to. Maybe that made her a coward. Maybe she didn't deserve Arceus' blessing. Maybe she just wanted to stay home and leave saving the world to somebody else.

But she couldn't leave well enough alone. Much as she put on the act of being cold and aloof, if someone needed her then...

"No I guess I can't, can I?" She regarded Irida for a moment with a slight smile, barely visible under her Zoroark mask. The smile is gone in an instant.

"Apparently more than someone who's lived here his entire life. Go figure." She didn't bother to hide the disdain in her voice as she addressed the accusation thrown her way. Though she knew she should be playing nice, she didn't care that this guy was part of the Diamond Clan member. Melli was insufferable and she had enough on her plate already without having to suffer through his disrespect.

[ I was at brunch with some friends today and was showing off the shiny Pokemon that I've hunted recently. And one of my friends looks to me, holding back a laugh and asks,

"Are you making a team of Pokemon with no braincells?"

She wants to turn it down. She's gotten by plenty well on her own thus far. The less help she took from others, the better and she never wanted to get too comfortable with anyone again after what happened some months back.

However, her stomach had other things in mind. The offered food caused a rumble that sounded loudly enough for the both of them to hear.

With a sigh, she took the offered ball of rice.

"Thanks... I got so wrapped up in my work that I forgot to stop and eat. Unfortunately I'm not done yet..." Her work was never done it seemed.

(off your chest meme, for katsumi) I know if you knew me better your rejection would hurt me on a level that I cannot even bear to think about, but I would take it on the chin, grit my teeth and try to get past it. I wish I could change past decisions I made that have since become history, fixed points in time upon which reality depends. Your reality is not mine. I'm not a guest, I am not welcome. I broke into here with force, and in some ways, I want to take what I want by force, but I don't. Because it isn't right. Because I don't actually want that.

All I want is to make it right, but I know I can't. And every day I wish I could end it all, because I don't deserve to feel for you the way I do.

[ You didn't give me a specific muse, so I spun the mental roulette wheel. Drayton gives me big "Dancing Through Life" from Wicked vibes. Obviously, I'm talking about Fiyero's role in the song. Sharing the original broadway version cause I still haven't seen the movie. ]

[ anyway, this song is VERY Drayton core. Sums up a lot of his feelings about school and life, while hinting at the turmoil that's bubbling beneath the surface. But you're never gonna see him openly admit to his problems. It's just easier to coast through life without putting too much thought into the repercussions of his actions and what they really mean to him. Also it's a bop and as lighthearted as he come across. ]
