Hi folks! Technically, we have reached the end of Deter Week 2024. Thank you all so much for your participation and engagement. It has truly meant the world to me.

That being said, don't feel like it's over just yet! If you're still working on things, or still floating ideas around, that's fine! I'm going to leave the collection as it currently is (open, unmoderated) for an additional week before moving it back to moderated (what this means is you'll still be able to post to the collection, it'll just have to be approved to avoid works being added to the collection by accident).

Additionally, I'll be making a roundup post once the collection moves back to being moderated of everything that was made during that time. Once again, if you post after that, it's still fine! Still feel free to tag @deterweek if you're posting about your works or add them to the collection!

It's almost like having a pet, Peter thinks, though dog jokes are usually beneath him. It's fitting, though, the way Derek follows him around with his wide, old eyes and looks at Peter with an entirely undeserved devotion. Peter begins to really think of it that way as Derek grows, and the clinginess continues. It's devotion, like Derek thinks of Peter as some kind of god.

Late post for @deterweek 2024 days 5 & 6: Opposites & Creatures It's an inspiration that makes sense in my head, hopefully it does if you read it too!

Derek x Peter (Teen Wolf) Rated: Teen Word Count: 3.5K Tags: Bad Parent/Alpha Talia Hale, Derek Hale Angst, Angst with a Happy Ending (happy being relative...), Violent Peter Hale but no graphic violence

Summary: That cold, frigid emptiness inside of him was where his wolf should’ve been. With spells and a Nemeton and the darkness of a new moon, Derek’s wolf was gone - given to Peter.

Derek was human, while Peter would never be human again.

Feral, his mother said with a voice so, so gentle. Too much wolf for one soul. It wasn’t like a natural influx of power when becoming an Alpha; it was another wolf, a merging of two, an abomination that was never meant to exist.

Peter was gone. Peter was feral.

Peter was dead, because while he’d ran before Derek’s mother and Alpha was forced to bestow a mercy killing, eventually hunters or other wolves would catch and kill him. It had to be done, and hopefully before Peter slaughtered innocents because he was out of his mind, unable to control himself. It was only a matter of time.

At least Derek would be spared the pain of feeling that death, his mother assured. He couldn’t feel the breaking of a bond he didn’t have, because humans didn’t have mates.
