His past few nights have been posessed by nightmares & flashbacks from... that day. He can't sleep; he can't eat; he can only mill over his paperwork with an empty feeling in his body. He is, as he tells himself, now, daily... “Restless.”

"Tch..." Saruhiko stood warily before the King, eyes lidded in utter boredom and exasperation. "Happy... birthday..." He'd been pressured into passing on his good wishes to their aging King, and nothing more. He supposed he could have just ignored it, but he would no doubt have been pestered about it later. Better to save himself the trouble. //hihi mun passes his wishes to Reisi as well~

         As per usual, Munakata sat in the seat behind his desk, simply watching the time spent in the office pass by. He was, in fact, quite pleased when many of his clansmen came to give him celebratory wishes -- though, by now, it was extremely obvious that Awashima-kun had prompted them into the matter. She had always been the first to wish her king happy holidays, and today, was the first in his office to wish him a pleasant birthday today; and, judging from the sullen, embarrassed, and/or frightened faces that all took their own toll in dropping by, his clansmen had either forgotten or never knew in the first place of the days importance.

         Consequently, it would only make sense for someone to remind them. And, at the moment, Awashima seemed to be the most attached to her captain; it wouldn't be such a big surprise if she had been the one to nudge them slowly into being polite and sending their good-luck birthday wishes.

         But surely, Fushimi would not have been one to mention happy birthday at all, even if stripped of all he could possess and forced to do so. In fact, it was because of his rather sudden and surprising -- even amusing, as it were -- appearance into Munakata's office, that the man found himself with a bit of a growing smile.

         He nodded once, in response to the blessing, and offered his own thanks in the matter. "Fushimi-kun," he began, eyes seeming to twinkle in delight, "what a surprise that you should visit and wish me my good day today-- I would have never expected..."

         His lips parted to give way to a small chuckle, and as he completed the laugh finally, he said, "Nonetheless, I thank you, Fushimi, and appreciate the gesture fully."
