Out of all the Despairs Enoshima collected, Izuru is the least interesting and most predictable out of all of them. It’s irony at his finest and he doesn’t even think the other realizes it.  “I achieved my personal goal in all of this ages ago. I do not care what the rest of you do or what happens from here. If amusement is what you seek, go find the others. My role in all of this is finished.”

              He will die. Body will burn in flames as He takes back this world. Makes it more entertaining more heavenly crafted in his very image. Hope & Despair. They are both unpredictable & yet both unsatisfying.

              This world. It becomes more of a bore.

              And the man before him, the most boring of them all. He is a predictable mess. The epitome of wasted space. Death should have came for him long ago & of course it would be DEUS to push him into the grave. Watch the life leave his eyes. He wonders what he would --- he will say something boring. Uneventful.

                           " Then die. Your existence as a tool is done. You simply are just stalling for the inevitable. "

              " Capture this. Commemerate this moment. " he is GOD standing above the fallen. Slain by his own hand. Their tactics even motivated by despair were mundane. Easily predicted. BORING. Mighty armies fall to him time & time again. And nothing changes. Nothing changes.

Izuru was definitely entertained with the results of Junko’s killing game against her classmates. Seeing such powerful (and genuine ) hope come from someone so mundane and ordinary peeked his interest. Seeing that hope overcame the most despairing of situations and even killed Junko made Izuru Kamukura extremely interested in Makoto Naegi. 

This also propelled him into the initial thoughts that perhaps hope can be just as unpredictable as despair ( which at the time I can imagine was starting to get run of the mill for him ). But once he saw nothing come out of it and more importantly saw how Makoto Naegi was he predicted the outcome. Which is why he initially starts his plan of just making the world entertaining for him by Kamakura-ing the classmates. 

He is entertained for the final time as he loses to Hajime though. Even if he’s filled of hatred for losing.
