I'm going out to one of the valley villages today, it's been a while since I last got to go.

physically, yes, i could fight a bird. but emotionally? imagine the toll

There's always snow around here, no matter the season. The closer you get to the stripe the less you see it, but there's always snow. I'd say you've been succeeding too, considering that you're not dead.

Ja I’m pretty well, I’d say. I’ve just been busy clearing snow out of the doorway enough that the slush won’t flood our house now that it’s getting warmer. What have you been up to lately?

oh damn i haven’t seen snow in forever. i haven’t really been up to much. mostly trying not to die because it’s getting so hot. i’d say i’ve been succeeding.

Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), 07/05/17

Another nester, this starling was just about to pop in underneath the roof tiles to feed its chicks. The pair of adults keep coming back and forth all day to bring them food.

There’s a pair of jackdaws that have been nesting in this chimney this year. How they can get in there and find some kind of comfortable space is anyone’s guess…

House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), 07/05/17

Finally able to get out of the house for some real close-ups, this beautiful sparrow was willing to let me get right up next to her.
