played with lord of pain in commander the other night and holy shit do i love this card i thought valgavoth was my fav commander from that precon but i think this one took its spot in my mind hehe anyway im building him in commander right now and i think im going to use this deck as an opportunity to test out new rakdos cards ive wanted to play with but was too scared to :3

ahhh understood i shouldve realized that it was invaded at some point and that the ask must've confused it with something else. thats really interesting and i love the idea that valgavoth "protected" the survivors so he could continue hunting and eating them lol. thank you for telling me the real lore!!

Extremely funny to me that the phyrexian wiki says that duskmourn was unaffected because the phyrexians just. Couldn't get into the house. They breached the multiverse but the front door was locked so they left ig.

i never heard that before thats really funny but i think it makes sense. i like the idea that valgavoth can keep his house body free of phyrexians by keeping all the entrances locked, meaning that valgavoth is clearly stronger than the phyrexians. demons keep on winning lmao. i honestly love that there was no sign of phyrexian influence on duskmourn that kept the plane feeling very much its own thing, kinda secluded from other things that could make it less horrific to the people within, with little hope of escape. although the phyrexians wouldve fit in design wise pretty well on duskmourn lol
