Vergil x Reader: Everything Will Be Okay

You sure can! Sorry if it's a bit brief, but I wanted to get this out for you asap. Panic attacks suck and I really hope this helps you feel better!

Panic attacks had become a regular thing for you of late. Your partner was almost always out hunting demons and your job was so demanding you had no means to escape the overwhelming, crushing weight of it all. Having just gotten off work, you tried to relax but as you finally settled in you found yourself tense with an all too familiar fear. The onset was always sudden, but it had never been this fast before. You felt sick to your stomach, hands trembling as you felt around for something, anything to clutch to for comfort.

Finding nothing, you began to panic more and your breathing bordered on hyperventilating - until something warm and heavy was dropped over you, the familiar scent of Juniper and sword polish overtaking your senses as someone scooped you up from where you'd curled up at. Recognizing the weight as an oh-so-familiar coat, you shifted it just enough to look at the person who had picked you up. Vergil looked at you from the corners of his eyes as he made his way down the hall, towards your shared room.

This was just one of the many ways he reminded you that he would always be there when you needed him most.

Another big update.

Unfortunately, the fix they attempted to my dad's bypass tube in his leg a month ago hasn't done much and is blocked right back up. So he came in at a quarter to six this morning as of when this gets posted to get another surgery. We had to wait a while due to an emergency (I hope whoever it was is okay!) and then they finally got to him. Well we ended up in a consultation room with the doctor post-surgery and it looks like things aren't going well.

The fix they're going to try and do likely won't last more than a couple years at best. Which means that an amputation will eventually happen. And with him STILL off work, I'm really having to scour for a job to help my parents out with bills. So, yet again, there will be an extension to my hiatus. I am SO sorry this keeps happening, I really hate letting all of you down. I can only hope all of this clears up as soon as possible.

Big Update!!!

I've been meaning to update you on my dad's situation. He is fine. He's still at home recovering, but the worst is over. They managed to get the bypass tube reopened, so he didn't have to lose his leg! That being said, however, I'm still going to have to try even harder to land a job so I can cover my folks in case things go south again.

I genuinely apologize for leaving y'all hanging, but just know I'm not abandoning you. I will return to write as I have time. I love you glorious people do much, and writing for y'all is so fun!

MAJOR UPDATE

So you've likely noticed that I've basically been MIA on this blog again. No I'm not abandoning it, but something major has happened. And not a good kind of major.

You're aware that I've been job hunting, so I'll cut to the chase. Not only have I not managed to secure a job, but my father is in the hospital. Back in 2017 he had a bypass done in his lower left leg that required them to use a tube of some kind, and on Sunday that tube collapsed. My dad was admitted on Monday and they've tried doing a clot breaker on him to clear up anything before they tried to reopen the tube.

They managed to get it reopened, but it's already showing signs of collapsing again. If they can't get it to stay open, my dad is very much in danger of losing that leg from the knee down. Which will most certainly cost him the job he's already so dangerously close to losing due to health issues - which were the driving force behind me trying so hard to find a job.

This is by no means a post begging for aid. Just understanding. Until the situation is resolved, I will be absent from this blog as far as writing goes. I will try to pop back in here and there to let you know how things are going. I'm so sorry to continually keep you waiting for your requests.

And on a final note before I go, I want to express my gratitude for your continued presence and patience. You folks keep me going, and I hope that, when I finally can return to writing, it'll be worth the wait for you.

Alright, I know this is one of the most boring things to read but for your sake and mine, I'm gonna be laying down a few rules for this blog.

Don't spam requests/prompts. This one should be fairly simple. I get it, you're excited to have things you want to read cranked out, but I only have a certain number of slots I can take before I close my inbox. But you need to give everyone else a chance, too. If you sent something in but you're not sure if I got it, please DM me about it.

I reserve the right to decline a prompt/request. Another fairly self-explanatory rule, but I'll elaborate. There are things I absolutely will not write, such as r*pe or inc*st. I'll provide a full list of things I will and won't write for at the bottom of this post, but the basic gist is if it's gross or makes me uncomfortable I won't be taking your request. Be respectful to both myself and other people/blogs that visit this page. I do not and will not tolerate hatefulness and disrespect. I'm generally quite willing to give second chances, but an offense of this magnitude is an Immediate Block. And I'm talking disrespect and hate like "Are you fucking stupid?" or "kys". Things like that are a big no-no here.

Do not rush me. I know that sounds harsh, but hear me out. There's a difference between being genuinely curious about the status of your request/prompt and being entitled. I'm more than willing to tell you where your request sits in the queue, but that does not give you any rights to demand that I work on your request ASAP. Not to be "That Bitch", but I wish I could hug you right now. You are an absolute sweetheart and I'm so glad this actually made it into my inbox. I straight up cried when I saw this. In a good way, I promise! I probably rewrote this five or six times trying to express my gratitude for this message, but humanity hasn't invented a word close enough to what I'm feeling so this'll have to do. I have no idea when you sent this in, but I really am very grateful for it.

I'm sorry for being gone so long, I really am. I've been dealing with a lot in my absence and I apologize for not letting y'all at least know I'm alive. But today absolutely broke me. I'm not much of one for talking about my personal life, but this is important. A very dear family friend in my life has passed away, in a manner very similar to the uncle I adored as a child. And it's messing with me mentally and emotionally.

This family friend used to play games with me when I was lonely and would visit me when I was sick. He always had some advice and a snack ready when I would start to feel lost in life. And now he's just gone. He's somewhere I can't reach him now. And I don't know how I'm going to handle that. Because he was my go-to for situations like these.

The nutshell summary is that, several years ago, he married an absolute Karen of a woman and that turned out to be a mistake. Because she left him, wouldn't let him see their kids, and now he's gone. I'm trying to avoid going into to much detail because I'm certain it would trigger at least a few people here and I don't want that.

So I will be gone a little while longer. I very much appreciate your patience and I want to express how grateful I am for each and every one of you. You're all so very precious to me, even those of you who just lurk. I can find the strength to at least keep moving because I know y'all are right here waiting.

I'll be back, I swear it. I'm not gonna leave y'all waiting for much longer. I just need to sort myself out after all of this. Thank you for still waiting, even with all that radio silence.

And, to answer the question I got on my last post, no. My PMs aren't working either. Anything you send doesn't show on my end. I had a few friends help me test this the other day after one of them tried messaging me and I just didn't get it. I have no idea what's up with Tumblr, honestly.

Edit: This sounds funky, but my friend messaged me on discord when I was radio silent in PMs here. That's how we found out, just to clarify.
