Dahlia being hyrdo and sword is so fucking funny??? Like for people who are more lore enjoyers let me start by explaining Venti's kit.

Venti is an anemo bow user. But the bow is near useless unless you run crit builds. Venti's real dmg comes from his skill and ult. Venti's skill is a burst of anemo on the enemies knocking them into the air. Held skill pushes Venti himself into the air. Ultimate is a blackhole that sucks small enough mobs into it and can be element swirl infused.

Dahlia the deacon of the church the herald of Barbatos has these abilities. He with his skill can lay down an elemental charge to make enemies fly into the air. (It also looks like a tornado but sure whirlpool that pushes stuff up not down why not 💀) He can also set the skill on himself and lift himself into the air for plunge attacks. (it also makes a shield cause I guess?) So anemo with swirl right? NO wrong it's hydro that doesn't even apply hydro because it's so clearly not meant to be hydro!!

And each time Dahlia attacks he pulls out a book like a catalyst user but this is decoration because again he is a sword user for some reason.

Not sure if it would be funnier for Dahlia not to know Venti is Barbatos or he did know.

But if he does know, I don't know who messe with who, especially since Venti has an angel motive while Dahlia has had a bat/devil motive. And Dahlia is Barbatos' herald, and Venti's friend.

I now imagine in the prologue, Venti wanted us to steal the lyre just to mess with Dahlia. Minewhile Dahila Venti-proved the room the lyre was in so Venti doesn't steal it and comes to him for help. Because seriously, if Dahlia didn't know Venti is Barbatos, Barbatos could've just sent him a message to give the lyre to a bard called 'Venti' and he will share some of his powers with him as an answer to the prayers to stop Dvalin.

And at the end of the prologue:

Venti: Hey, I broke the holy lyre and created an illusion to calm Baraba. Hide it from her, please?

Dahlia *in the middle of work*: You did what?!

Venti: Here is some Dandelion wine! Bye~*teleports out*

Dahlia: Wait, Venti!

But I'd also like it if Venti started saying 'thank Barbatos' because of his friendship with Dahlia. But like how did they become friends?

I love to remember fondly how fans, pre-Campania arc, used to call Lizzie out for being an annoying and weak little girl, even though we've had evidence of how much of a little reckless rascal she is in the story since basically ch2

^ Or attending one of Druitt's parties all on her own (we don't see Paula at all), despite Frances canonically strongly disliking Druitt's type xD

The way I see this :

either Frances has to battle every now and then with her 14 year old teenage daughter who constantly leaves home on her own whenever she feels like it,

or Frances 100% trusts her girl and her fencing skills and doesn't care about where Lizzie goes, as long as Lizzie isn't arrested by Scotland Yard or something

Considering other examples like the Campania arc or the start of the Blue Sect arc, or even how Yana describes Lizzie seeing her mom as a role model, I'd strongly bet on the latter.

Last but not least, I think it's very funny that, before the Campania, whenever Ciel asks Liz 'does your mom even know you're here ?!', Liz answering 'nope' implies that 1) Frances doesn't know for sure where her daughter is but 2) is 100% ok when finding out that she is having a sleepover at Ciel's manor.

And also, it's even more hilarious to notice that, after the Campania, Ciel doesn't even bother anymore asking if Frances knows where Liz is (like in ch107), as if to say "yeah okay she can take care of herself, alright".

Soul Eater NOT Crash Out

Clarification, it's not about how bad Soul Eater NOT is but about a newer youtube video where a person harps on Soul Eater NOT while simultaneously proving not to understand any Soul Eater lore. Which is annoying because the video is formatted as a retrospective and not a review with personal feelings.

First of, Soul Eater NOT's run was from 2011 to 2014, while Soul Eater's run was from 2004 to 2013. So it started two years before Soul Eater's end, of course it couldn't be a sequel. Tsugumi was in fact shown in Soul Eater when Death talked about all the weapons.

Second, the spin-off was meant to show how ordinary people live and survive in the world, since the most ordinary person in the original Soul Eater was Soul, but we met him after he had already gotten used to Death City. Tsugumi is just a normal 14-year-old Japanese girl who found out she was a weapon, so she had to go to the only school for weapons in the world, which is in the desert of Nevada. As the school is specifically made to teach weapons to control their power. The Soul's and Maka's class, the EAT class is the only one getting invovled into fights. By the end of Soul Eater NOT Tsugumi isn't even aware she can eat souls because a civilian wouldn't need to know that, and they did it would probably be a bigger hassle than it's worth.

I want to ignore the beginning of the video but can't because the youtuber acted like the English dub is the definitive way to consume Soul Eater NOT, so when the eng dub said 'senior students' the YT questioned if years even matter in the school, instead of harping on the clear mistranslation of 'sempai/senpai'. Because yes, years and age don't matter, Maka is younger than Tsugumi and is her Senpai, as Soul Eater NOT is before the first chapter of Soul Eater, during their 99 soul hunt. And of course, the youtuber doesn't comment on the fact that we learn that the school provides allowances for its students, which is something we didn't know in Soul Eater. Nor do they mention that internal struggle Tsusgumi has about her belonging in the school where we get more insight of why master's would join the school. Maka, Black Star and Kid weren't regular kids, so you didn't question why they are at school.

They also completely ignore the fact that Akane had a role in Soul Eater, and when I watched their Soul Eater manga video, he ignored the parts of the manga where Akane shows up, calling it unimportant side-quests. And then proceeds to completely misrepresent Akane's past and make it seem like NOT broke the canon because Black Star was stated to be the only person left from the Star Clan. Which he still is because Akane isn't from the Star Clan but Hoshi Family which the Star Clan branched off of. They have similar abilities, techniques, and conventions, but are not the same thing. Or the fact that the witch they are up against is the third Gorgon sister we hear about in Soul Eater and we now know what happened to her.

However, what got me positively seething was the complete ignorance of Kim's character. First off, even in Soul Eater Kim tried to extort people for money, it's just that the main characters are stronger than her, so she couldn't. Second, weapons can't be witches. We know how weapons are created, the youtuber should know it as well because they read the original manga. But even in the manga video, they call Jacqueline a witch. No, Jacquelin is in love with Kim and wants to protect her, so when Kim's identity is revealed, Jacquelin wanted her to be with other witches. AND NO YOU CAN'T BECOME A WITCH NOR CAN YOU STOP BEING A WITCH. That's Kim's and Angela's entire point in the story. In NOT we just see how being born a witch affects. She didn't ask to be born a witch, but just because she is born, she is hunted and considered a monster. Black Star was sent to kill Mifune and Angela a child, and her human bodyguard, who didn't do anything wrong aside protecting a little girl who is a witch. At the end of Soul Eater Kid stopped the hunt for witches because it was unethical to begin with.

Aside that they couldn't even tell that Liz imagined what Patty deserved and thought that they were maybe rich, and were shocked at Patty being mean and not a 'ditz'. She lived on the streets of Brooklyn, that's all she ever known, in Soul Eater we do see her being mean or see 'gangster' side come out. But she doesn't really need it anymore because they have Kid, she is safe and sound and can eat and act like she wants, and being ditzy is just the way she is when she isn't in survival mode. They still didn't trust Kid in NOT.

The two complaints that irked me as well were: Tsugumi letting Maka fight for her. Yes, that's Maka's job, to protect civilians, and Tsugumi is a civilian, she can't even transform properly. There so many manga where the protagonist is saved by their mentor or somebody they admire, why are you complaining about in this one. And, the second Tsugumi having a grigori soul because to the youtuber it somehow 'invalidates' Soul Eaters established 'it's like to win the lottery rare soul'. That doesn't even happen in the manga but the Youtuber refused to read it. However, Maka doesn't have a grigori soul in the anime, it was never even mentioned. So Maka has it in the manga, and Tsugumi has it in the anime.

I came to the conclusion that SAG-AFTRA fight against Mihoyo and Hoyoverse for 'AI-protection' is utter bull.

In Tears of Themis, (a game I actually played before Genshin) a simplified Chinese VA ended up in jail for embezzlement and since his voice was popular Mihoyo made deal with him to let them use his voice to train an AI but he was still being payed.

So they did use AI but it was with CONSENT and they were still paying the person.

So they are trying to make Genshin an Union Project which would lead to Genhin loosing their non-union VA over time or pay SAG 500$ for each time they use a non-union VA. And the union VAs(or at least most of them) are in danger of losing their roles since you are not allowed to work on non-union projects if you are part of the union, but leaving the union will lead you to be blacklisted. And if you are Fi-core, you essentially still pay the yearly fees but have zero benefits aside being able to work on union and non-union projects.

I also find out that what I thought was 3000$ entrance fee is actually just an admission fee. You pay that and it is still not guarantee you will enter.

i don’t know about y’all but if i were asked to replace someone’s job by a shitty company that rips peoples livelihoods away in the blink of an eye because they dared to fight for basic human rights and protections, i would simply refuse, no matter how much money i think i’m going to get. i am not selling my soul and my morals for a multibillion dollar corporation that refuses to pay their employees a living wage.
