I’m simply astounded by just how clueless the average person (myself included) is about the cost borne by others (human, animal, and the Earth herself) for nearly every convenience, morsel of food, drop of drink, casual consumption of entertainment, or vehemently held belief.
Is it even possible for the collective, let alone the individual, to hold the entirety of our shared experience in balance?
Does the ever-widening gap between extremes maintain a sustainable equilibrium?

I read this article and it made me a bit more sullen than the average reality check piece. I suggest you read it too because it’s only through awareness that light can be shined on darkness.
Acknowledge that an animal likely suffered for our cheap burgers. Our water is a closed system. Our convictions are not universal. Admitting this and acting accordingly is the very least we can do.
