Side Note To Fan Fic Authors

Here’s the thing.

I read a lot of scripts.  A lot.  From professionals to aspiring writers to complete newbies.  Features and pilots.  Specs and treatments.

And 8 times out of 10 the fan fic that I’ve read over the last, oh, 15 years is leagues better than this stuff.  It’s more inspired.  It’s more compelling.  It’s genre bending and creative and heartfelt.  It’s well-paced and intense and funny and sexy and meaningful.  It’s smart and thoughtful and good.  It’s novel-quality.  Better than, sometimes.

Rare is the script I don’t want to put down, but how often have we stayed up until 3am to get to the last chapter of a 100k fic? And it’s not even a fan fic author’s day job.  This is what they do on the side.  In their spare time.  For free.

So my point is, fan fic authors, you’re good.  You’re good writers and great storytellers.  I know it doesn’t always feel like it, especially if you’re one of the authors who’s not a BNF and doesn’t get the notes/hits that a few do.  And  because some people still view fic as “not real writing.” You guys know the shit that gets made into movies.  You’re better than that.  So be better than that.  If writing is what you think want to do, then just know you’re already doing it.   You’ve already started.

And you’re more talented than you might think.

BnHA: Jerking It

The guys of Class 1-A discuss the cons of their quirks when it comes to jerking off. 

Aoyama: "If I get too excited, I could accidentally shoot a hole through a wall or my ceiling.”

A Snarry snippet

Here's a little sneak peak at what I've been working on since August.

The first letter wasn’t so much delivered as it was found. In fact, Severus knew, by the way it laid, it was not purposely left behind but had drifted away from its owner. Severus Snape had just taught the fifth-year Gryffindors and Slytherins double potions, and for once, not a single cauldron exploded. Neville Longbottom had managed a halfway decent potion without incident, and Potter had gloriously kept his mouth shut for a change. It was almost like a dream come true.

So, of course, he was suspicious.

Maybe Severus had hit his head and was unconscious in the hospital wing. Perhaps he had too much Odin’s before bed and was still asleep and dreaming. Regardless of what reason for having a blissfully uneventful class, he was grateful for it. With Umbridge and the constant interference of the Ministry, Snape was exhausted.

Thankfully, they were also the last class of the day. So all he had left was to clean up odds and ends left behind with a wave of his wand and make sure the chairs were pushed in before locking up.

As he made his way to the back of the room, a folded piece of parchment lay on the floor against the wall. He nearly vanished it with a simple flick, but something told him to inspect it first. What with Potter and his hooligans constantly getting themselves into trouble with Umbridge, it might be important.

Wordlessly summoning the paper, he snatched it out of the air effortlessly. Only folded once he flipped it open, and Severus’ eyes widened in abject horror while his face paled while he read it as each new word caused his heartbeat to quicken, but in the way that created` the fight or flight reaction.

I love saying your name. Severus Snape.

Sometimes I think about other things that roll off the tongue, but I don’t think you’d appreciate what I had in mind.

Written in what could only be considered a horrible attempt at calligraphy. Severus wasn’t sure what to make of it. Was it a poor student’s moment of delusion? Perhaps the fumes of the day's work had seeped into their walnut-size brain and flooded it with nonsense. Because it simply couldn’t be the other alternative. A confession of some type. Shaking his head in disbelief, he flung it into a desk drawer and promptly forgot about it.

BnHA Omegaverse Schedule

I have the schedule for the month of July all set. Like last year, the event will take place over the course of July with two AUs given per week; every Tuesday and Friday. The first Au will be on Friday, July 1st.

Due to the votes, because there were some that tied in popularity, I took the liberty and combined Supernatural with Hybrid. They're similar enough that they can be combined into one AU., however, you're more than welcome to pick one over the other or combine the two. This allows for all the winners to be used instead of dropping one.

Also, instead of assigning Keyword prompts to AUs, I'm going to list them so you can pick and choose which you want to use, (or not use) for each trope. You can even use more than one per AU if your heart desires.

With that being said, here is this year's schedule!! I felt like there were two different themes here, so hopefully, I got them listed in a good order for everyone.

As always, feel free to use Free Day whenever you want in place of an AU or keyword prompt. You are always more than welcome to go back to the main list and pick something else out. Or, ignore the AUs and prompts altogether and just write whatever you want. No matter what you choose, we look forward to your story/artwork this coming July!!
