kingsroaredâ:
the bait is obvious, and leonaâs far from prey - but malleus draconia has a way of getting under his skin, and his ear twitches at the comment, though he does little to otherwise acknowledge it. as far as jabs go, itâs a weak one - nothing to get worked up over.Â
listening to the other continue on though, he canât help but finally scoff, ââfortunate for meâ? itâs like youâre tryinâ to make me laugh. if anythinâ, this is the most unfortunate thing to happen to me since cominâ here.â
âbut go ahead - acquaint yourself. i canât wait to see the brats turn tail and run when a gloomy guy like you goes walkinâ up to them.âÂ
with that, he stands, refusing to look up at the other from the ground any longer - if leonaâs not going to get any sleep, he sure as hell isnât going to spend the rest of this conversation craning his head to speak to malleus.
âand you sure your conversational skillsâre up for it? you donât get much opportunity to use âem, after all. not everyoneâs gonna fall all over you like your lackeys just âcause you talked to them.â
Even if Leonaâs jabs hurt, it was still something familiar, still something Malleus found comfort in. In this situation, he didnât particularly mind. Any familiarity was better than none when being trapped somewhere against his will. Unfortunate. Well, Leona was right. Malleus always had an inkling that his presence alone pissed Leona off, but there was some small degree of hope that him being here would ignite some relief, if any at all. But it was no matter. He would continue to press at Leonaâs buttons. At Leonaâs comment, Malleus couldnât help but raise an eyebrow, a small scoff escaping his lips. âThis isnât Night Raven College,â he said. âThings will be different here, they wonât run.â Malleus couldnât be so sure, of course. He was hopeful. He made sure to add: âAnd are you sure youâre not talking about yourself?â
Malleus maintained eye contact as Leona stood up. Talking to Leona was better at this level. It felt as though they were both on more equal footing. This time, Malleusâ eyebrow twitched. âI can converse just fine,â he said. âIsnât that what weâre doing now? You continue to underestimate me, Kingscholar.â He had little evidence to back against his comments when it was clear that Malleus had hardly conversed with others back at Night Raven College. Still, he was stubborn. The reality was that Malleus didnât want anyone falling over him. If anything, the conversation he was having right now was much preferred, even though the two would often toss remarks at each other and nothing else. Something about it felt more natural.Â
âAgain, you seem to be doing just fine. That means the impossible can be overcome.â There was a twinkle in Malleusâ eye. âIâm sure you of all people enjoyed being dragged into things against your will. Do you even so much as try to find some enjoyment with these events?â Again, Malleus was asking partially because he was still curious. The mere thought of Leona partaking in these big events earned a small chuckle. âYou shouldnât take that for granted.â

Wow consider him dumbfounded really. hardly looks like it. âMonthly? weekly? daily? What do you even use?Your hair is shiny, but you need to mattefy it at least a bit because its gotten to the point it looks greasy.â
If Malleus was to admit that such terms went a little lost on him, it would be another stab wound to his pride. âI am well kept, thank you. I donât recall ever needing to ... mattefy my hair.â Had Sebek or Silver ever brought such a thing up? Usually theyâd catch him up to the little affairs of others. âIt is given the utmost proper treatment. Youâre quite bold to proclaim otherwise.â No. He certainly wasnât pouting ....

âYouâre a 10, but you donât wash your hair nor show up for meetings so seeing you here before me is a surprise. So youâre a 3.â
.... He stood there for a moment in silence. Then, Malleus lifted a strand of his hair between his thumb and forefinger, taking a glance at it. His voice was soft, almost inaudible. Malleus muttered:Â â .... But I do wash it ....â

bindingheartâ:
Despite the eelâs laidback personality, he was awfully perceptive. one had to be with his familyâs business and now the work her does in mostro lounge. while a difficult read, floyd wasnât going to let this moment slide and one day he hopes of cracking open this dragon like a clam shell. a quiet hum rumbles from his throat as he thinks about the question. âwhat good would freaking out be? i get a bed to sleep in and a roof over my head so who cares. â
âDo you wanna return home already?â he wasnât going to answer the question about rather this place was better or worse than night raven college. going to school, forced to do lessons was something he couldnât care either way about. as long as his brother and azul were there with him he didnât really care where he was. even if its a weird place that has been out to kill him and others randomly for fun. floyd could sympathize with the diasomnia dorm leader. no magic- especially when youâre supposed to be one of the most powerful magicians alive- must make him feel really lame right now. that and it didnt seem like there was anyone else from diasomnia here.
There were proâs and conâs to this place already that Malleus could list. For starters, heâd been interacting with his previous classmates and peers more than he ever did in Night Raven College. Perhaps the obscurity that was his lack of powers made it easier to approach another - the prior tension seemed to be lessened, but it was hard to figure out whether Malleus was happy or mad about that. Secondly, they were all in the same predicament. Sure, Malleus had come later than others, but it wasnât like heâd missed out altogether. His own dorm wasnât here, but heâd still met others from his world, and feeling like he was on equal footing was certainly elating. It had been something he had unknowingly craved yet denied, but right now, Malleus had been pretty much thriving. But he was someone sentimental. Floyd mentioning home had Malleus remain quiet for a bit longer. Home. That was certainly where ever Lilia, Silver and Sebek were, wasnât it?
âI suppose that is right.â Floyd had a point. Matters could have been worse, but Malleus would have been less reluctant to agree if still being powerful. âThen, what of your magic?â He asked. âYour unique magic, too. Were they not stripped from you, too?â If their circumstances were different, then that would be a problem. Malleus was relishing on the single fact that he at least wasnât alone. He didnât want to be stripped of that, too. âIt depends,â he said. âI find this place rather interesting, despite the predicament we find ourselves in. It could be worse, like you said, but Iâm not overly happy either.â He assumed the reason for that was obvious.
âYour twin, and your dorm head. Are they here, too?â

kingsroaredâ:
when it becomes clear that no, malleus will not suddenly decide to go away and leave him alone, leona clicks his tongue, entertaining the idea of just turning his back and trying to go to sleep - but he doubts that will work; the stench of lizard is too strong to ignore.
glare settling into something less severe - no point in wasting energy maintaining it if malleus is determined to stick around -, he replies, âdepends on what you consider âlongâ. have i been here longer than you? definitely.â
leonaâs being purposefully difficult, and is about to stop there, but then the opportunity to take a dig at the other presents itself - and who is he to resist?Â
âlong enough to know that this place does whatever the hell it wants. once in a while thereâs some big event - the kind that you just get dragged into.âÂ
lips curl into a mocking smile, showing a glint of fang, âhow lucky for you. you wonât even have to worry about getting invited.â
Malleusâs persistence knew no bounds, but Leona Kingscholar was someone who definitely knew how to sink his claws into places that would hurt. Not that Malleus would show it, again, but there were often times where his emotions would betray him. Mentioning invitations again had Malleus piercing his lips, an almost inaudible scoff given. It seemed that he was going to give in easily, in any case, and whilst Malleus knew it would be challenging, the repetition of this certain affair was particularly aggravating. Yes, he was finally a part of something, and yes, he had found some of his peers. He narrowed his eyes but smiled again. âSo even you canât control whatâs happening here? I suppose youâre glad most of the work gets done for you.âÂ
A big event? Of course this only brought on more questions, which he would continue to bombard Leona with, also for his own amusement. âThen how fortunate for you that Iâll be guaranteed to be here with you. I suppose this place does have its perks.â Invitation or not, Malleus was finally included in something to the same degree as everyone else. As jarring and obscure as this entire situation was, there was also some positives. Perhaps now would be his chance to talk to his classmates. Most of the obstacles that had been set between them didnât matter here, even if only temporary.
âThis only gives me more opportunities to acquaint myself with you all.â There was a snide grin in his tone. âIf even Leona Kingscholar can get himself comfortable, then I have nothing to worry about.â

kingsroaredâ:â
after telling the previous occupants to scram, leona had planned to lay down and take what would no doubt be a nice, well-earned nap in a warm, comfortable spot - but that plan was quickly thrown out the window when he heard that irritatingly familiar vice call out to him.Â
his tail, once calm and still, now rapidly flicked back and forth in discontent; and as he sits up from his spot on the floor, he makes sure to send the unwelcome intruder a particularly nasty glare - not that leona thinks itâll phase the other third year, annoyingly thick-skinned as he is.
âlook who finally showed up. what - finally being a part of somethinâ put you in a good enough mood to come bother me?â
There was some merit to getting such a reaction out of him. Malleus had long since learned to grow accustomed to their bickering and take it for what it was, like some game shared just between the two of them. He was confident that Leona, compared to most others, would know just what to say to try and get under his skin. And it had worked before, much to Malleusâs dismay. Of course he wouldnât admit it openly, but the scowls on his face would prove more than a sufficient amount of evidence. But this was an entirely new place. Even if their grudge still lingered, what grounds was it based on? Here, things were different. Technically speaking, Leona had an arguably better standing than Malleus did now. This is something else he wouldnât admit. âSeeing you slack off has only heightened my mood, Kingscholar.â Though there was some vulnerability. Malleus did have questions to ask, but just the thought of getting anything through to Leona would be more difficult than usual. But again, Malleus quite liked the challenge, most of the time.
âYouâve been here long?â He asked, calmly. âI suppose itâs expected of me to be late to the party. Care to fill me in on what Iâve missed?â

Perhaps this was some twist of fate, but Malleus Draconia wouldnât really consider it cruel. It was more amusing that he would recognize this voice almost instantly, given their bouts of petty words thrown at each other. He was almost immediately tempted to do just that, spotting a familiar tail before the rest of him. He lingered for a moment, his presence easily silent, phantomlike, almost, before speaking as though this was some casual meeting, disregarding the obscurity of their predicament. âAh, it seems Iâve bumped into another familiar face.â There was some relief. However hard it was to notice, even seeing Leona Kingscholar brought some sort of ease and familiarity. it was like an instinct, however, that Malleus had a slight teasing lilt to his smile.

unblot asked:
â Lord Malleus, have you looked into dating apps? â Silver has no interest in them himself but after witnessing Sebek's explosion, he thought maybe this would solve this no bitches problem his lord is troubled with. â From what I've heard today's generation uses them to acquire...bitches. â The last word is spoken at a low whisper. Using such crass language in the presence of his highness feels disrespectful.
..... interesting. although the pride malleus had was clinging to him; a moth to a flame; there was a slight twitch of his lips, his acknowledgement subtle but noticeable nonetheless.  as much as malleus was someone highly distinguished,  he was unable to hide the pout to his lips.   subconsciously tilting his head at silverâs low whisper, he gave a low hum and sat in silence for a moment. no matter how crass the word sounded, he couldnât help but want to be intrigued. he really, really did.
eventually, after thinking to himself for several quiet moments, his frown deepened. malleus muttered in response, to both himself and silver:    â   .... to acquire bitches ...   â  ... a sigh.   â  ... these dating apps.. perhaps you could. install one for me.   â

Send my muse âđ + a questionâ and theyâll have to answer with 100% honesty.
Anonymous asked: đ + what's something you fear?
this question stunted him for a moment. of course there was an answer, but the admittance, especially for someone like malleus, was seemingly too far-fetched.    â  ... being powerless.   â  a pause.   â  i suppose i take a lot of pride in my strength, so to lose that is not a thought iâd like to entertain.  â   he left the meaning of strength open, perhaps on purpose.
#ask meme#i think it's hard for malleus to admit a weakness in any scenario.#he'll just be cryptic (as usual)
