I often wonder what Emily Dickinson would have been like had she lived one hundred years later? Would she have gotten a college degree? Found a job in a library? Moved away from Amherst? Would she own a typewriter? Travel to Paris? South America? Would her "gorgeous nothings" have been written on Post-it notes?
One of the most ubiquitous tools of a bookstore employee is the Post-it note. Here are some that I wrote on, stuffed in my pocket, and somehow saved from oblivion. They contain quotes, snatches of ideas for poems or songs, jokes, conversations, etc.

The Good Book Every Sunday :
The Emily DickinZINE - Vol. 9 / no. 1
It is always interesting to print up a Zine. I like to hold a physical copy, whether or not I can get them into other hands.
I had no idea that this one wanted to be printed in Black & White. Printing imposes a margin of about an eighth of an inch, which cut off some image and text. I went back and inked in what was missing.
A day or so passed before the Zines asked me for some spot coloring (adding in the process some unintentional Emilies). As an artist, I enjoy making multiples that are identical and yet not, because of the slightly ajar embellishments that hand fixes will make. Each one looks alike, but each is unique. Only seven copies made.

Like Emily Dickinson's fascicles, I don't know what is going on here. This one is part commonplace book, part first draft, part final draft, part new poems, part translation, part news headlines, part dog-walk journal, part sketchbook, part art object.
