“Ah yes I’ll have some iced coffee and then I’ll probably be sleepy so I’ll just have a lil nap”
took me way too long to learn that this was not normal for everyone lmao

5 Tiny Writing Tips That Aren’t Talked About Enough (but work for me)
These are some lowkey underrated tips I’ve seen floating around writing communities — the kind that don’t get flashy attention but seriously changed how I write.
1. Put “he/she/they” at the start of the sentence less often.
Try switching up your sentence rhythm. Instead of
“She walked to the window,”
try
“The window creaked open under her touch.”
Keeps it fresh and stops the paragraph from sounding like a checklist.
2. Don’t describe everything — describe what matters.
Instead of listing every detail in a room, pick 2–3 objects that say something.
“A half-drunk mug of tea and a knife on the table”
sets a way stronger tone than
“There was a wooden table, two chairs, and a shelf.”
3. Use beats instead of dialogue tags sometimes.
Instead of:
"I'm fine," she said.
Try:
"I'm fine." She wiped her hands on her skirt.
It helps shows emotion, and movement.
4. Write your first draft like no one will ever read it.
No pressure. No perfection. Just vibes. The point of draft one is to exist. Let it be messy and weird — future you will thank you for at least something to edit.
5. When stuck, ask: “What’s the most fun thing that could happen next?”
Not logical. Not realistic. FUN. It doesn’t have to stay — but chasing excitement can blast through writer’s block and give you ideas you actually want to write.
What’s a tip that unexpectedly helped with your writing? Let me know!! 🍒

I appreciate how insistent you are about the predatory nature of gachas. I know this is partially because your own experience with them, but it's a relief to read.
I think people defend them because they enjoy them and don't want to admit they're supporting something evil. And I understand that. But I also think it's pussy shit. Gacha games are evil. They make money by targeting the vulnerable and ignorant, and then wringing them dry. And this disproportionally affects neurodivergent people. So morally I feel a need to speak out against them whenever the topic comes up. Not just because I was victimized myself, but just out of principle. I've devoted my life to the videogame art form, and I see gacha games as a black stain on the art form I'm passionate about.
#my very first game job as a baby out of school was this studio with the shadiest ceo man#this was in like 2013 before gacha games were as widespread as they are now#and this mfer wanted us to add gacha mechanics to the game we had#because it makes so much money in asia#because he said and this is a direct quote#“the chinese are compulsive gamblers”#anyway that was the moment that radicalized me against gacha games

They’ve been rebuilding the Tower of Babel, but this time they have a team of linguists on site. Every time God smites the builders and invents a dozen new languages, the linguists have a dozen decently sized translations in about a month and work can start up again.
The linguists have been really into it. They say the new phonemes are fascinating. As for God, I assume that at this point he’s just curious to see how far this goes.

How come a badger would fuck up a coyote
you wouldn’t necessarily clock this from just looking at one, but all species of badger are basically just little fucked-up biological TANKS with hearts full of murder.
adorable murder.
to start with, badger skin is so tough that it can resist most attempts by other predators to bite through it, and is also very loose so that even if it’s grabbed by a larger creature, the badger can still turn around and bring its own claws and teeth into the situation!
which is very bad.
and on top of this, badgers are STUPID strong and ridiculously hardy- badgers can shrug off just about any injury that doesn’t kill them outright and will immediately seek retribution by attempting to open you up with those big ol claws like a can of beans being fed into an industrial shredder.
badgers can even 1v1 fucking BEARS and walk off without a scratch, they’re that op.
no, I was not kidding.
the coyote, a fragile creature built for speed and maneuverability, would stand NO chance if it tried to start shit with the badger, and they both know it.

Maybe it's just me as a Filipino who has lived through a murderous dictatorship and oligarchies in a queerphobic country controlled by the rich who brutalize grassroots pro worker movements all under the military abuse of US imperialism but...
You just gotta keep showing up. Support each other. Don't just fight for yourself. The work is hard, but you just gotta keep doing it. You'll always see results, even if they're not always the ones you want, or as big as you want them to be.
All your work always matters. Even if it doesn't feel like it at first. It always matters.
