8. How did you spend New Year’s Day?
At a family dinner, as always
Trying to avoid my father whilst i watched him put on a fake performance. Whilst now knowing how much of a liar he is. And if I drank too much of the champagne so be it. Better that than make a scene right?

"A full fairy tale princess it seems- once again." Amos wasn't used to seeing Penn like this. It wasn't bad thing, not one bit, it was just new. He liked that she felt confident this evening. In fact, he hoped she continued to feel this way more often, she absolutely deserved to. "Pftt, no, the only predictable thing is you bringing me a new plant each month". It was amusing watching her lead for once, and Amos decided to go with it. "Hopefully at least some of those dances are reserved for me" he teased as he playfully bumped her with the side of his arm "after you Miss Borgin"
***
"Did i specifically learn a charm to turn water into champagne just for this evening? yes. are you thanking me for it? i'm going to assume also yes" Amos boasted as he handed Penn a flute of champagne. He had taken a sip from his own before bringing the drinks to her, just to make sure the charm had worked properly. Friend date it might be but Amos intended to be attentive this evening. He knew Penn well enough to know she would want to fully experience an event like this. Whilst he couldn't fit the bill for her romantically he could at least be a good date. He was determined to make sure his friend had a great evening. "Do you want to get some food, or should we dance first?"
@hortusdea
The days leading up to the yule ball had been a blur, a rush of colors that lead up that very moment she now found herself in. When days prior Eavan had come to assist in changing the dress to something more regal and festive it had all seemed like a silly joke, yet the moment her eyes had fallen upon the dress it had all somehow made all the more sense than the pink flowery ever could have. Penelope had to make a mental note to than the other whenever she got the chance to, again.
When she'd finally made her way down the stairs it felt like the witch had stepped into a whole other world all together. It was the same and yet filled with the warmth of a festive atmosphere, brightened by the one to greet her at the bottom of the stairs. The brunette couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her at his words. "You could say I had a fairy godmother show up and turn my rather pretty pumpkin of a dress into something all the more festive." The smirk that graced her lips said everything, it would remain her secret. "Why, do you like it?"
Perhaps it was the fact that Penelope for the very first time in a very long time had goals in mind and dreams to chase after but her confidence was blooming, adding a glow like a candle in the dark. "It's good to know I can still surprise you after all that time. And here I was worried I'd become all too predictable." The Gryffindor enjoyed the way he seemed to stumble and fall over his words. "Come on, there are many dances to be danced." - @diggoryxamos

"I'm never too busy for you Sybill" he smiled softly. She wasn't wrong per se. Amos was usually in high demand, but then he could always make time for people he genuinely liked, and Sybill had definitely become one of those people "Penelope?" Amos looked at her confused, he didn't expect Sybill to be one to listen to the idol gossip about them that had been happening for years. Something Amos mainly just ignored. "I honestly don't think she could care less" he chuckled, amused. It was a completely honest answer "we're not here as that kind of date- she's just been my friend since forever- wouldn't want to go to something like this with some I didn't trust and stuff"
"I'm sure I can work with that" Amos was quietly confident of his dance skills, having been taught a range of formal dances when he was younger. "As long as you're happy to let me lead that is." He pulled Sybill onto the main dance floor, "May I?" he asked, checking before he placed his hand on her waist.
@sybillctrelawney
Sybill saw Amos across the room with Penelope, quite a nice lady from what she knew. She had to be if someone like Amos was there with her. She stood back and watched them so perfectly paired.
Amos had been such great company to Sybill. She didn’t feel like he was just humoring her when they laid there looking at the stars. She felt he actually wanted to be there and interact in a genuine way. There weren’t many people who gave that to Sybill. There also weren’t many people she felt she could calm herself enough to have a conversation where she wasn’t a spaz. Sybill was grateful for him.
When he saw her, Sybill stood up straight. “Hello, Amos,” she said surprisingly. “You looked busy. I didn’t want to bother.” Again, surprisingly he asked her to dance. “Won’t Penelope mind?” she paused. It would only be a friendly dance. “I warn you. I have two left feet.”

Where: The Ball; main room Who: @alexdiggory
Amos was always proud of Alex, but there was something about seeing Alex laughing happily with his date that made Amos' heart feel warm. In certain ways Amos thought that Alex had his shit together more than he did. Amos might be the eldest brother but he didn't always feel like it. As Amos walked back from the drinks table, he noticed that Alex was stood on his own. He approached him from behind, throwing his arm casually over his shoulder. "Looking dapper little bro" Amos meant it too, if there was one thing you could say about the Diggory siblings it was that they had style. "How's the date going?" Amos loved romance, he just knew it wasn't for him, so instead he enjoyed living vicariously through others.

Where: The Ball; main room Who: @sybillctrelawney
Amos hadn't been at the ball too long before he saw Sybill. Penn was talking to a group of her friends so he excused himself, promising that he would be back shortly. Amos had a tendency to end up getting distracted when they attended events together. Of course, they were here just as friends like always but he wanted to at least try and honour the idea of going to an event like this together and spend most of the evening with her this time.
Amos had been surprised about how well him and Sybill had gotten along and how much he'd enjoyed their conversation. He also found her to be a very calming presence. Something he knew could never be said about himself. He liked to think of himself as a warm type of chaos. "Excuse me ma'am" he said as he approached her "could i possibly have this dance." He gave her one of his winning smiles.

Where: Gryffindor common room Who: @hortusdea
Amos lent against the wall near the bottom of the girls dormitory, hands playing with the sleeves of his jacket, a way to try not to mess up his hair that he had spent a long time styling. Amos just wanted to get going to the ball and was full of excited energy. Though he usually hated the balls that his parents threw, what he did like about them was dancing. There were was something softly intimate about dancing with something. He could understand why it had been a way for people to interact in olden muggle times. Of course not every dance had to romantic. He didn't imagine he would have that type of dance with anyone this evening. He had been taught ballroom dancing from a young age. He pretended to hate the lessons but secretly he loved them. He kept checking the stairs for Penn and smiled when she finally appeared round the corner, straightening up to greet her properly. His eyebrows raised in surprise as she got closer. That dress was not the one she'd picked out when they'd gone shopping together. "Wow" Amos failed to form a more intelligent sentence. He held his hand out for her when she stopped in front of him."You're sneaky Borgin" he smiled brightly at her "what happened to the other dress?" Amos had to say he preferred this one, there was something about it that made her shine.

30. how long does it typically take your muse to wake up in the morning? can they make it by without coffee or do they need caffeine?
Amos is usually quite good at waking up. Years of early quidditch practice has made him get used to early mornings. He definitely needs to have a coffee before he can fully wake up though. Usually you'll find him looking a bit zombie like until he's got that first cup of coffee down him. After that he's back to the usual energy filled Amos Diggory.

Okay so the paper aeroplane didn't end up where it needed to, but arguably this could be more interesting anyway. Amos loved banter, aside from flirting it was one of his favourite forms of communication. He laughed at Ludo's comment. "I don't hear people saying that on the quidditch pitch mate" he jested "maybe your big head just got in the way of it's path." He shrugged throwing the boy a cheeky grin. "Least you can do is send it back, there's top secret communication on there i'll have you know, real v.i.p stuff." Amos was lying, the actual message he had written was along of the lines of 'please help, i'm dying of boredom.' But honestly where was the fun in admitting that. This conversation was already helping with the boredom anyway.
@ludobxmxn
ludo's face deep in a bowl of chowder while he's reading up on something for potions - fucking potions, the biggest thing to get him down even on a great day. there wasn't much activity going on around him; most people were in class or catching up on sleep, he's sure. but there's a few familiar faces and he's got to fight the urge of distraction. this proves difficult when he feels something smack into the side of his head, and ludo lets out a 'ow!' before rubbing his temple, and looking around to find the culprit. "oi, diggory," he calls out to the only other person who seemed to be paying him any amount of attention. "your aim's dog shit," the irishman taunts with a mouth full of food, picking up a piece of bread and breaking a piece off, flicking it towards the gryffindor a few feet away at his own table.

"Shit, sorry Remus" Amos said just loud enough for him to hear, but not loud enough to draw attention. He was surprised at his own lack of coordination. It was something that he was usually proud of. He was praised for his reflexes when it came to Quidditch. Managing to block the quaffle at quite some magnificent angles if he did say so himself. Amos knew Remus mainly through Sirius, though he didn't really know too much about Remus himself. Still he'd always liked his presence. Amos scribbled down another note 'Sorry mate, that was meant for someone else- but now I have your attention- what do you think of the yule ball? Got a date sorted yet?' This time Amos accurately aimed the note at Remus.
@lvpvsnoctis
Remus' favourite time of day was when he could simply sit in silence and do school work. It was odd, he knew that, most others absolutely loathed study period. There was something about the stillness of the Great Hall that was overwhelmingly calming to him, even with the faint sounds of pages turning and muffled coughs from others around him. Completely lost in his textbook, it took Remus a moment to realize that something had hit him in the temple. He blinked, bringing himself back into reality, before picking up the neatly folded paper plane, eyebrows furrowing as he looked around trying to find who'd tossed it at him.

Who: @alexdiggory Where: outside the great hall after lunch
Amos was still tucking into a doughnut as he left the great hall. The feast today had been particularly good and it had boosted his mood. Thant and this mornings Quidditch practice had been fantastic. Amos was already super proud of his team this year. They were going to win the tournament this year, he already knew it. Maybe that was cocky, he didn't care and well it wouldn't be the first time Amos has been excused of being over confident. He couldn't wait to play an actual match, he was basically itching for it. There was nothing like the adrenaline rush of playing a Quidditch match. Well maybe one thing, but that could come with complications. "Oi" Amos shouted out as he saw Alex "heard you were terrorising the whole of Hogsmeade at the festival, well done mate- really keeping the Diggory legacy going with that one."

Where: Great Hall Who: Open
Study period was something Amos hated. There was nothing worse than been forced to concentrate in complete silence in the Great Hall for an hour. Amos was much more of a study in the comfort of his room person, preferably with Elrond curled up, purring in his sleep next to him. He had been at least attempting to get some of the essay done, but he just couldn't concentrate in this environment. When Amos felt penned in like this. It was when he wanted to create the most chaos. He took a new piece of parchment, scribbled down a quick note with a smirk. Folding it into a paper aeroplane, before sneakily aiming it towards his friend further down the the table.

Where: Hogwarts grounds Who: @hortusdea
Amos had taken a lot of time in choosing the specifics of his outfit despite how simple it was. But that was the beauty, making it look that simple, that easily pulled off. He stared at his new fangs in the mirror a few times, getting used to the look. It was fun, unusual but fun. Amos had even put on some makeup around his eyes to really complete the gothic look he was going for. After fighting to get on the tight leather trousers he finally made his way down to where he'd agreed to meet Penn.
She was already there when he arrived. He smiled at her costume. Snow White seemed fitting for her somehow. She hadn't spotted him yet so he decided to surprise her, changing his path so that he approach from behind. "Well hello princess" he whispered into her ear before whipping round to stand in front of her. Amos' energy levels were even higher than usual and he was in an especially mischievous mood. "Mind if I have a bite?" he flashed his fangs at her and leaned in towards her neck before swerving at the last minute, grabbing an apple out of her basket and taking a bite.
