1) Senior Allie Yamato has started remaking her old jeans for herself and her friends to add a special twist to her old clothes. Yamato started making jeans about two weeks ago but has always wanted to reinvent her old clothes for as long as she can remember and has finally had time to begin.
2) Yamato is shown sewing the embellishments into her old jeans. Yamato had currently made one pair of jeans for herself and has recently gained interest in jean design but has loved doing DIY’s since she was a little girl.
3) One of Yamato’s main reasons for making her jeans was to make her outfits look like they're worth more but for her to do it herself and have the clothing be still fashionable for a lot less. Yamato gets interest from celebrity street style.
4) Yamato makes her jeans by getting a pair of jeans that are distressed and that have large holes along the knees and then embellishing them herself. Yamato then uses her old jewelry as chains and decor for the jeans, which she then attaches to the jeans by sewing them on.
5) The biggest challenge Yamato faces is the production and getting the materials. According to Yamato, she shops in downtown Los Angeles and it is hard for her to commute there frequently. Another challenge Yamato faces is inventing new ideas and creating new ways to revamp clothes.
