The main file for Project Pharmacy has gotten so big (~4.5GB) that I had to draw the individual characters on separate files and embed the PNGs so I don't get scratch disk errors when opening the PSD.

Another fun bit of trivia: because I found most of the medicine seller OCs on Twitter's #オリジナル薬売りさん創作会 tag, I initially assumed the owner, like many artists on that platform, disappeared without a trace. It was not the first time this happened, so I'm glad that in this case I was mistaken! ^_^

I think Curly would've seen the nicer parts of himself in Daisuke but completely overlook the naivety because he doesn't believe his belief in seeing the best in people, especially Jimmy, is born of the same thing that has Daisuke always look for the best or fun in an awful situation.

Not to mention he wouldn't necessarily see that as a bad thing and enjoy that someone can remain so positive seeing as he's losing that light in himself...

I really want this to come across in all the fics I write for Mouthwashing

I love the way that Mouthwashing uses Jimmy and Curly taking turns as the perspective character to make their actions not just parallel to each other, but hopelessly, disgustingly inseperable. The clear picture it paints us of how Curly enables Jimmy and how Jimmy guilts Curly into further enabling him. They both avoid responsibility when it really counts-- Curly through shows of appeasement and Jimmy through shifting the blame to someone else.

Mouthwashing Thoughts

A/N: I wanna add more and should probably proof read this, but I’m not going to. Might delete this if I make it better. Or just reboot with adjustments, idk. This game has taken up too much space in my brain and I need to get it out so I have a reasonable amount of storage space.

I’m trying to get my thoughts in order about characters ideals and dynamics for my future fics.

This is technically Jimmy’s POV? Kinda. It’s written with his ideals and switches.

I’m not a writer so tell me if there’s any issues: grammar, spelling, povs, whatever. These are just to get the ideas out but I should probably put more effort into these.

Start

Jimmy can’t love anyone because he doesn’t see them as people.

He places Curly on a pedestal, only seeing him as someone “better” and resents him for that. He wants to be what he thinks Curly is. It’s impossible.

He doesn’t care about Anya, obviously. He thinks she’s an incompetent nurse, an incompetent person. No, he doesn’t think of her as a person at all. He probably hates her, if he doesn’t just think she is too unworthy of even hatred.

Swansea is an old, jaded man. He works and works. He got clean, got higher in life, and yet he is still miserable. He is Jimmy’s future. He is futility.

Daisuke is eager enough to be molded. He’s likable, but not capable. Both Daisuke and Curly are naive in their kindness. They need someone to guide them. Curly has Jimmy, Daisuke has Swansea. Daisuke is much more starry-eyed about his “guide”, but he’ll still listen to Jimmy over Swansea. After all, Jimmy is the captain now, he is in charge, he is the only capable one.

Curly, poor Curly. After the crash, you’re nothing, are you? Don’t worry, you can depend on Jimmy. Jimmy will fix this, it’s not your fault. In fact, you’re just the victim, right? Yes, you’re a victim and you need Jimmy’s help. You always have been better than me, but now I, who is below you, will be the one to save you.

But Swansea did something else, didn’t he? He ended Daisuke’s suffering. He accepted the responsibility of his choice, a choice that would affect someone other than him, and tried to make things right.

Jimmy can still fix things. He can save Curly, he will save Curly. Because Curly’s the only one left, and someone needs to depend on him.

Obligatory Beach Episode (Mouthwashing)

Warning: Mouthwashing (game) spoilers

A/N: Wanted to write a fluffy fic of the Mouthwashing cast at the beach, but I probably would’t finish it if I tried to flesh it out. If I do, I’ll probably post it here and on AO3. This originally started off as a comic idea so I might draw some of the scenes later.

Curly and Jimmy are separate because I originally didn’t want to include them at all. I love Curly, but I think the crew deserves a respite from those two. Jimmy gets punished for even showing up because I really didn’t want him here.

I have more fanfic ideas so let me know if you’d prefer this style or would rather wait for a fleshed out fic/comic.

Unimportant but I had Hawai���i local Daisuke in mind when writing this.

Actual Story:

Tulpar crew goes to the beach

A non-shitty corporate vacation? Must’ve been a mix up, someone’s getting fired

Takes place before events of the game or in a different universe

Swansea

Drinks a mocktail while lounging on a chair under an umbrella

Complains the mocktail isn’t alcoholic

“At least it tastes better than that mouthwash”

Anya

Doesn’t take off the sunguard (also has a hat)

Only dips feet into the water, highest she gets is up to her knees

Finds a tide pool, helps some fish back into the water

Stays longer to watch the night sky

Daisuke

Goes surfing/bodyboarding

Shell necklace

Gets everyone to wear floral print

Wants to be buried/burry someone in the sand

Makes a sandcastle

The sunset looks like the one on the Tulpar

+Jimmy & Curly

Curly

Tries to get Jimmy to put on sunscreen

Jimmy thinks he’s being too pushy

Jimmy doesn’t listen, gets sunburnt

(Gently) scolds Daisuke and gets called captain

“Yes, Captain”

Is flustered, trying to say he’s not their captain when they’re “off work”

No one believes him

Everyone calls him captain more

Checks on Anya when she’s looking at the stars

Grills some meat for the crew (allusion to being eaten, provides sustenance no matter what, self sacrifice)

Asks Jimmy for help in an attempt at making up with him (for pissing him off over offering the sunscreen)

“Come on Co-Captain, we’re a team, right?”
