It's 05:40 in the morning and I'm about to head out! Journey to Denmark starts today~ It's a 13 hour car trip, so we're taking a break somewhere in the middle of Germany.

I will report on my adventures!

(I'm also taking my art tablet with me because I've got art to finish, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have or if there's a chance to draw in a vacation home shared by 6 people - all nerdy, artsy people to be fair.)

Oooh if the twins are the youngest now them being Cross Guild bounty hunters is so cute its like a little cherry topped bow tie ending for Croc’s “character arc” his family is happy and safe and stable WITHOUT compromising his or Dragon’s ideals and FINALLY balancing their lifestyles (I kind of like the idea Dragon was avoiding croc for so long not just out of ideological or strategic differences — but because maybe its been gnawing at Dragon for a while that maybe just maybe he’s made some of Garp’s mistakes and maaaybe it wasn’t as coincidental or logistical he left so many of the sacrifices and responsibilities of early child/prenatal care on his younger, trans, and more isolated partner….. mmm… better to just bury that emotionally. For the RA.) with their familial duties.

I think Crocodile would be quite pleased that some of his kids follow in his foot steps. Of course, Luffy did too as a pirate, but the twins have taking Crocodile as their role model and carry on his legacy. And they are, as you say, safe!

Though in the version where the twins are the youngest, then Dragon would not have avoided Croc, since they stayed together all this time (with some relationship hiccups of course) though I can still see him worrying about leaving Croc alone for longer stretches of time with the baby (babies) in the first couple of years. ;w;

One Piece does have a cast that is predominantly male (like pretty much all the fandoms I've been in in my fangirl career *lol*) so I thought it was gonna be more of the same for me. But no! Genderbending is the solution!

(I'm partially joking. I should try to draw more of the female characters too one of these days.)

I love that your approach to gender and gender presentation is just "yes."

Iva's fruit helps a lot with that, but it's still funny how any pronouns and gendered nouns (mom, grandma, baba, dad) are used for most characters, regardless of what they look like at any given moment

From what I've seen said in regards to Crocodad is that some people are uncomfortable if the terminology doesn't fit the presentation i.e. "Croc is a man, you cannot use mom at any point". While I understand why they say that, personally I feel you can approach the Crocodile is Luffy's parent topic in a multitude of ways (there is not only ONE way you can or must tell a story about a trans man having a child), you can display a character in the stages of figuring themselves out (and added to that is the fact that Crocodile is not canonically a trans man. Not yet. Which I feel gives a fan a lot of headcanon space to work with.)

I've always been rather casual with terminology and gender presentation in fandom (those who know my Supernatural work will know). Though I don't want to step on anybody's toes so I try to be a bit more careful with Crocodile and provide context why certain terminology is fitting based on the story I'm telling. But with Rocks all bets are off. He is whatever and it's delightful. :3

I may have missed some Kite development; specifically, I remember some speculation on what her gender would end up being, and so I'm curious if it's been settled on. I'm still kind of hoping for genderfluid but doesn't always go to Iva to get her body changed to match, but if it has been decided as something else, that's cool, too.

No, you haven't really, no new development on the gender front has been discussed! I just tend to use female pronouns for adult Kite and male pronouns for kid/ teen Kite.

As far as Kite's gender identity goes I think that's still kind of ambivalent even though I am favouring drawing female Kite at the moment because I go through my phases like that *lol* I'm not sure how I'd best present a genderfluid Kite, though I do think she wouldn't really switch back and forth - it's not like she can go to Iva all the time as a marine. If you want to offer input on how you think I could present Kite as genderfluid please feel free to :3

do you think kite uses the power of looking like dragon to mess with akainu? like "flirting" (not really flirting, just kinda teasing him? I know there's other word for it, but English is not my first language and my brain is fried)

also, do u think koby gets jealous and kite uses this to mess with both of them? I mean, a medic has to have some fun while there's no war and no patients to treat right?

What I'm thinking is that Kite does flirt with Sakazuki because that's the most messed up, funniest thing she could do. Also Sakazuki is the most messed up, funniest choice of men she could do. Sorry I said that. I will repent.

If Koby and Kite are a couple then I don't think he'd get jealous, he'd know what she's like. If they are not a couple, then I think he might feel some way about it. Maybe something along the lines of "of course she would go for the Fleet Admiral. That's who someone as amazing as Kite deserves. ... I must train even harder so I can become Fleet Admiral!!!"

(And yeah, Kite needs hobbies, that's true. But I think even headquarters might be busy. With pirates and Cross Guild messing up marines all over the world, the HQ hospital is probably always busy.)

Can you tell me more about your AUs? Im loving them. Just how many children are there throughout all these AUs? What are their personalities, their dynamics with each other, their jobs, their love interests, their rivals, etc? And whos dating who/who is who's parent? How'd you name your OCs?

Many of my AUs are variations of the same premise, so there's a lot of overlap and it's tricky trying to keep them apart. You can find some general information in my masterpost here!

You can probably separate my AUs into two main categorie:

A) AUs where Dragon and Crocodile did not raise Luffy (the reasons vary, the point in which they broke off contact vary, general backgrounds of Dragon and Croc can vary)

B) AUs where Dragon and Crocodile raised Luffy (variations being whether this is public information or secret / do they have other children / how do Dragon and Crocodile's family ties influence this, etc)

And then there are background variations, such as: how did Crocodile and Dragon meet, who are Crocodile's parents, who are Dragon's parents, genderbend AUs etc.

How many children are there: Not counting Luffy and the adopted canon kids, there are 6 or 7 OC kids that I've drawn more than once. The only ones really fleshed out are Kite and Dulcinea. (You can see sketches of them here!) Most of the OCs I make are Dragon and Crocodile's kids.

Most of them I haven't fleshed out enough to know what kind of rivals, love interests etc they have, partially also because some of the OCs would be grown up only quite a bit into the future and who knows what the world looks like for them. Kite's the only one who has a job (as a marine) with a rival of sorts (her boss) and a potential love interest that has been suggested (Koby) so I'm trying that out. Dulcinea is a teenager (13/14) so she might start being interesting in people (though I'm pretty sure people means women. We've got to have one lesbian child *lol* The only female character I can think of who are around the same age are Rebecca and Shirahoshi. *lol* Maybe Moda who's now joined the RA... I'm just thinking out loud though)

Regarding the names: Usually I try to find a name that fits thematically and has a link to one or more characters~ (And others also suggest good names, that are either thematically linked or just funny.)

Okay, but how does the Charlotte Family fit into this disastrous family tree?

I don't think they do! If you want to add to the chaos you can of course argue that Linlin would have offered one of her sons for Rocks' offspring. But I'm not sure Rocks would have agreed considering how Linlin talked about the future of Rocks' beloved pebble in her family and I think WB might have also said no (not that Linlin cares about the opinions of men.)

So it's possible that in an AU where after God Valley, WB managed to take him on his ship, Linlin comes offering again once Crocodile is a bit older. And WB would still be very much against it, but maybe Crocodile is just looking for ways to get off the ship (especially if this is an AU where he got roped into "replacement mom" role for the Red haired twins. I assume they are part of this, otherwise the family tree isn't disastrous enough.) But Crocodile would probably hate the role Linlin would push him into even more and WB would still block it especially if Linlin would come present her son when Croc was still a teen.

That said, Crocodile's a pirate, he deserves to have a couple of husband though, so it's possible he and Katakuri ran across each other and had some fun behind Big Mom's back. (Dragon's fine with his husbands-in-law. Probably. :P)
