The Sims 3 Project renaissance (RELEASE)

Hello everyone. First of all, I want to apologize for my long absence and for not releasing the "Project renaissance" mod last summer. Unfortunately, there were reasons for this. Due to difficult life circumstances, I had to stop developing the mod for a while. But let's not talk about sad things.

Finally, I am ready to present you the mod "Project renaissance", which I have been working on for a long time.

I replaced the textures of 17 trees and 31 plants from The Sims 3 base game. The game was released 15 years ago, and today it looks pretty outdated in terms of graphics. Despite this, the game still has a huge fan base, which creates amazing mods and game materials, thereby making our game even more attractive and interesting.

Thanks to the "Project renaissance" mod, you can add a little realism to your game, the vegetation will look much more realistic.

I made two versions of the mod: small textures and large textures.

The first version is suitable for a comfortable gameplay, the second is more suitable for creating beautiful screenshots and videos, as it loads the system well enough. Gradually, I will refine my mod, I plan to add new vegetation textures for additions, as well as replace the textures of the landscape and roads.

Around the Sims 3 | Toy vending machine

Welcome to my childhood memories with "La machine à tirettes" (a vending machine with small drawers), aka "la tirette". It was part of all the fairs! For a small amount of money, you could get a random toy, a cheap watch, a ball… and there was always a very special toy in the display that you wanted so hard without being able to get it… :D I like finding those "old stuff" in my game, entertaining my Sims, so I had to make one for game. It's funnier in Sims 4 because you get a random toy, but it can still works in Sims 3 with Arsil's Food Maker.

It will be released on Around the Sims 3 the 29th of November. It’s available in early access for Patreons right now.

These are mostly edits of Animal Crossing conversions from this set by Decat @decat2 (or new clones with the same GUID) plus 2 new objects and 2 add-ons. Dollhouse is functional.

I couldn't stop myself from rearranging "cleaning set WC" model, moved the plunger to the back where it belongs.

All objects have shadows added and sharp edges sorted out. Recolor textures were re-done (thanks for the files @episims ) I've applied original normal maps and AO shading*. (BTW anyone converting from Animal Crossing to TS2 please check out this post ).

Books and book stand now have two subsets - fixing integrity would break these objects so I had to make new clones but I've recycled Decat's GUIDs.

Experiment Set went through a general makeover, I've switched glass subset to bottle fluids and made a new recolor for these. I've also enlarged the object, now it fits one-tile desk.

Mop and bucket is a new mesh - Decat also converted it ( file called "cleaning tools") but my mesh has two subsets and different proportions, as I edited the model to make it more realistic. I've modified textures to add more mop/rag colors.

Texture sizes for these objects range between 512x512 - 384x384 (yes).

AO maps (basically - baked shadowing) in case of AC objects are a part of "mix" texture, so you have to separate the green channel, desaturate and make overlay out of it - set to multiply or similar. It's also necessary to improve quality or at least smooth it out a bit, these are quite crunchy. I give it brownish tones for dark areas + pale blue hues for the light areas, works better than just grey.

Functional 4-tile Gates And Matching Fences

This is a set of 3 functional 4-tile gates and matching fences converted from Sims 4.

The gates function as normal gates: make a cutout in fence and are lockable BUT are not animated (despite all my efforts, this would require making an animation skeleton from scratch and believe me, no modder wants to touch that stuff...), so sims just pass through it. Locking the gate will prevent sims and pets from passing (this is a standard function for all gates, nothing new here).

The last wrought iron gate/fence set is converted from here (selected colors only).

Compressed, clearly labelled, picture and collection file are included.

A few worn / grunge sofa recolors and add-on armchair for anyone who needs them. Old sofa model comes from Little Nightmares 2 game, it was converted to ts4 by Josie/Ellemant and to ts2 by MrsReval.
