AELDWS 2025 SIGN UPS ARE NOW OPEN!

Signups will close once all slots are filled, or by Thursday, June 26 at 7PM EDT at the latest (click the hyperlink for your timezone).

AELDWS will run for six weeks from June 27 to August 8. The weekly schedule is below:

Friday @ 1AM EDT - prompt revealed Tuesday @ 1PM EDT - drabbles due Tuesday night - drabbles posted, voting opens Thursday @ 7PM EDT - voting closes Thursday night - results posted, drabbles revealed Friday @ 1AM EDT - new prompt revealed

AELDWS is a weekly, elimination drabble contest. Each Friday, a prompt will be posted which consists of a prompt, genre, and word limit. Author drabbles are compiled, with author names removed, and the fandom is invited to vote for their favorite and least favorite drabbles. The author who comes in last place each week is eliminated until there are only three authors remaining in the final week. Note: If all ten slots are filled, the first two weeks will be double elimination weeks.

The best advice i can give any creator is do it before you're good at it, do it BEFORE you're happy, do it while you suck, do it while you're doubting yourself and get stuck the fuck in, because waiting around to be "good enough" is a motherfucking trap of the highest degree. You'll get good along the way and better after ever project is complete. Remember, this is the greatest thing you've ever created, and then you'll do something else. You're only ever gonna get better, but not if you stand still.
