Do you think Aaron seems really off like not acting like himself ? I feel like John is controlling of him . What are your predictions for Aaron and Robert ?

Yes and no. I’ve continued following Aaron’s storyline post-Robert’s exit, and I think Aaron has changed a lot since losing Robert. Not only did he lose his husband, he also lost Liv, both of which just about destroyed him. It wasn’t that long ago that he was taking out his grief on basically the entire village and was a complete disaster. He’s only recently pulled himself together.

I do think Aaron isn’t quite himself with John, compared to how he was with Robert or even before Robert. Because he’s had such a horrible couple of years—and, really, a horrible majority of his life—he wants something safe and quiet. Or at least he thinks he wants that. I don’t think he has the capacity to handle one more blow, so he’s settled with John, who seems safe. John has been pretty closed off with Aaron, and is now showing himself to be massively insecure, and I think Aaron tiptoes around him a bit. Aaron always voiced his opinions with Robert, whereas he’s keeping pretty quiet with John, especially lately. The pub scene from Friday’s episode was a good example of that—his face wasn’t showing that he agreed with John, but he didn’t contradict him or make any effort to defend Robert, besides saying he knows how rough prison can be. I think he’s trying to make his marriage to John work, even if his heart is not fully in it, and so he’s slowly giving up parts of his personality or silencing himself to appease John.

Also (and I’m sorry this is such a long response lol) a huge piece of John and Aaron’s story that has been left out of most of the conversations lately is Anthony’s death. From Aaron’s point of view, John stepped up and protected him during that whole situation. John handled things when Aaron couldn’t. Also, Aaron’s been a bit emotionally raw lately from being reminded of everything with Gordon, and John’s been there for that, too. I think that plays into why Aaron is acting the way he is and why he’s clinging to John.

As for my predictions for Robert and Aaron, I think they’re in for a bumpy road ahead but will, of course, end up back together eventually. I go back and forth on whether I think they’re going to actually have an affair, but I do think Aaron’s not going to be able to stay away. Robert is not mentally well, and I’m not sure jumping right into a relationship with Aaron would be the best thing for him right now. And Aaron is going to be horrified when he finds out what John’s been doing. I think it will be a while before they are truly back together. They need to heal as individuals first.

Similar to how Aaron is with John because he feels safe or something along those lines, I think at least part of Robert is clinging onto Aaron because he’s safe, too. Him and Aaron were married and stable (as much as they’re capable) and he was happy. He was loved and had someone on his side. Now he’s endured six years of prison and whatever was happening to him in there, he has no one on his side, he’s essentially been replaced by his creepy secret brother, and he’s very clearly not mentally well. Stepping back into his old life would be so much easier than starting over and sorting himself out. He doesn’t want to be a new person—he wants to be the person he was when he was with Aaron, because that person was safe.

now we have seen robert’s reaction at a loud noise and being woken up it’s sure going to be awful seeing him get kidnapped and waking up with no idea where he is and how he got there :(
