Day 2
Made a weak little idle animation where her hair flows in what seems pretty nonsensical. Also got an armless walk animation. it was a lot easier than i expecting actually. Will add arms and shading next time i get to sit down. just need a jump animation after that and i can get back to unity. maybe an attack animation.

Day 1 Dev journal
Unity2D is already easier to handle than i was expecting. didn鈥檛 get too far into the code when i saw the animation suite and decided i needed to have stuff i could dump in their myself. Character controls were easy though i鈥檓 still stuck on hold key modifiers for constant actions though i think the animation switching tutorial has given me a much better idea of how to do those.
Sprite work! this was actually fairly easy. much easier than i was expecting and i got quite a few seperate assets out there in the few hours i was working. Above is all the stuff i made. things to consider. - need to at least double the size of my work to allow for at least a little more detail. In order to do that i need to find some sort of scale that i can consider while drafting shapes.
- lineless vs lined. Doubling the scale will also allow me to comfortably place darker outlines on things without fear of detail loss. lineless pieces look good on their own however and should be considered for objects that naturally glow and things i want to blend into the background. may make for a good natural camofloge on stealthy enemies.聽
- no clue how to start considering people. i鈥檓 used to looking at lots of little details in my attempts to learn anatomy and now i have to double back on myself and work with generalized shapes. much of that will have to be faked for a good while. Must build a resource pool of different resolutions for reference.

Unity 2D
Ok so slight change of plans. didn鈥檛 know about Unity2D until now so i鈥檓 going to take a quick detour. character movement is simple enough but i鈥檓 going to go make some sprites for it instead first. Will post any pixel tests later tonight.

TGG #001 Getting started
Test game goals will be where i post the goals for myself to achieve before moving onto larger more complicated goals. I have some experience with Unity and C#/++ already so these may leap and crawl at the same time.
Character with quick movement; Adjustable sprint; Adjustable Jump; Adjustable count Attack: Adjustable speed; Adjustable length? Enemy; Simple roaming with jump Enemy attack: ranged with color and count variance.
I鈥檒l leave it at that for now. Last time i got into unity it had just updated and their librarys keep telling me the way i learned it is out of date and get forced into some new crappy library. We鈥檙e gonna take it slow for now.

An experiment in learning
*sounds of intense frustration* ALRIGHT! here鈥檚 the situation. I can鈥檛 focus for butt! All the things i鈥檝e been trying to learn go in though my head out through what ever servers as an anal capacity for thoughts. So lets try being more active and constructive in the learning process. I will post any sketches and tutorials people request of me for art. I shall also be posting anything related to new ideas and techniques in art HOWEVER art is not this blogs focus. I am trying to learn to program for the umpteenth time. Every day i get to sit down and figure stuff out i shall make a post showing my thoughts, stressors and what worked. i鈥檒l pose questions as well for any poor fools that follow this insane test run.聽
First set of goals will posted later tonight. tomorrow we begin.
