Mairon/Celebrimbor headcannons after the Second Music
° Celebrimbor still have the scars Annatar left while tortued him
° Mairon is a way more insecure about his villain past. Celebrimbor, as the Child of Eru, is completely chill about all
° I mean, chill like "It's just marks that we met before, my love, don't you worry"
° Mairon kissed all the scars all the possible ways
° Celebrimbor recognized Mairon immidiately despite he took his original (not Annatar) form
° They work together A LOT more than have sex
° The process of creating something just feels more intimate

incoherent ramblies ahead
friend of mine has been talking about how there's a new Jurassic Park movie. can't stop thinking bout how so much of the original book's horror is based on the fusing of science and capitalism.
how the very premise of taking such technology and exploiting it to make a goddamn amusement park is inherently irresponsible, foolish, downright dangerous. how these aren't truly dinosaurs but genetically engineered monsters made out of bits and pieces of dinosaurs. how the pursuit of capital is written into their very DNA as it bears the consequences of being spliced with frogs and God knows what else.
how cutting corners and strongarming the workers who built the park and its systems causes it to turn into a death trap like that in nothing flat. how hammond lies, cheats, and steals to create this testament to his own ego.
and it makes it all the more ironic and tragic that it's such a favorite franchise of Hollywood's. that it's their go-to for the ritual IP resurrection, the corpse of Jurassic Park being dragged back on stage every few years to beat with sticks until it coughs up some more money.
jurassic park got jurassic park'd.

End of the Second Age. Sauron knew every microexpression on Celebrimbor’s face—and that’s when the paintings began. Hundreds, perhaps thousands. Few ever accessed the dark tower, but those who did whispered of a mysterious elf carved over and over along the pillars and shadowed halls of Barad-dûr. They wondered—not aloud—who he was and what it meant. "Are all my thoughts of you, sweet raptured light? It ends here tonight."
