Haunted Orchard Cocktail

Servings: 8 servings

Calories Per Serving: 292 kcal

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups silver tequila

2 cups apple cider

1/2 cup lemon juice

1/4-1/3 cup real maple syrup, to taste

1 inch fresh ginger, grated

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2-3 (12 ounce) bottles sparkling hard cider

3-4 cinnamon sticks

1 apple, thinly sliced

Instructions

In a large pitcher, combine the tequila, cider, lemon juice, maple syrup, ginger, and cinnamon. Chill until ready to serve.

Top with hard cider just before serving. Stir in the cinnamon sticks and apple slices.

Czech soul cakes are very different from the English ones. They can be either sweet or savoury, and come in very specific shapes. They are either shaped as bones, the letter S (for Saint), crosses or little ghastly souls – hence the common name Souls & Bones.

Ingredients

500 g plain flour

2 tsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1 sachet yeast

2 eggs

2 cups warm milk

Instructions

Mix flour, sugar, salt, egg and yeast.

Add warm milk & work into a smooth dough.

Leave the dough to rise for at least 40 minutes.

Shape the dough into small buns.

Place in a preheated oven (200ºC) for 20 minutes. Glaze with whisked egg throughout.
