You can love a character and still admit when they're wrong !! I love Korra but I can acknowledge her flaws (she has none) and can hold her accountable for her wrongdoings (she’s never done anything wrong in her life) and call her out for her actions (which are always correct).

Why cam and pal are queer:

Cam and pal are undeniably in love. But this love isn't quite romantic, and most definitely isn't sexual.

We know that characters in these books express sexual and romantic desire in the books, Tamsyn isn't teasing us with a ship or afraid to right sex/romance in her books. So then why are cam and pal so different from the others? It's because they aren't in love in a romantic sense. There's no denying that they care deeply for one another. Even in Gideon The Ninth it's shown that they think everything out together. Pal knows cam will bring him back cause he trusts her. Cam trusts pal with her body, mind, and soul. They are bound to each other before they even start sharing a body.

When they finally reunite there is no kiss, only joy that they are once again in each other's presence. When they are reborn as Paul, they complete themselves. They are now whole, they are now happy, all they wanted was to be one with one another, and never separated again.

Though palamedes is shown to have romantic interest in dulcinea, I still think of Camilla and palamedes as aro/ace relationship goals. Their relationship is full of non romantic love, and completely lacks a sexual desire for one another.
