Honestly people would be better off if I wasn't around. I feel like I've been a detriment to the people around me since I was little. Like I was never good enough and a burden. Maybe it's time?

Happy or not, I am alive.
Successful or not, I am alive.
Hungry or not, I am alive.
I am alive.
Out of any possibility of my life one thing rings true.
I am alive.
With this, I can strive for what I desire.
My hopes, my aspirations, a love, even a pain if that is what I desire.
At the end of the day, all I can truly commit to and say when anyone asks, is that “I am alive.”

Age
Today was the first time in a while my dad called me an old man. I told him my day consisted of work, and jamming to my late grandmother’s records. (Count Basie, Al Hirt, Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra solo, Doc Severinsen, Etc… ) You know? I may seem like an old man at times but at least age doesn’t show that. It’s not a bad thing being called an old man. It may be bad being called an old grouch but hey. There’s not much I can do with how I live.

Understanding Life
To those that admit they understand very little, To those that admit they are willing to learn, They are the men and women who understand life more than others. They know they have much to learn, To gain the wisdom each person has to give. They can easily be filled with vast array of emotions. These are the people. The very few who can actually say, They understand life.
Smile. I hear it’s good for you.

“The life we live is measured by how successful we are.”
The people that say this may usually be talking about monetary terms
The life we live is measured by how successful we are
Success can be measured in multiple ways.
Success can be measured in love
In memories
In feelings
In how we live our lives.
Success in this society may be seen in money
Success in this society may be measured in soul.
We live in a broken society
What we do is what may make us.
So live
and love
and live a full live of love

Pittsburgh
I miss this city. I learned about racism, love, and much, much more. One of my closest friends is someone who I despised and who hated me for who I was and still am. Old traditions that seemed obsolete were still alive. People knew who each other were. I learned so much in the first place I lived in America. I miss it. I loved it. I hated it. I learned from it, and I’ve been beaten in it. This was the first place I have ever learned about race, hate, and love. I will always be inspired by this place. I will always learn to love and never hold anything against a man or woman.

Who’s to say?
To tell us that our generation has it easy. To tell us how hard you had it. Who’s to say that we haven’t? It may be different but life was still hard. To tell them that it’s our generation. To tell them that it’s our right. Who’s to say it is? They probably once told their parents the same. We all have our battles. Our demons. Our faiths.
Who’s to say it’s our fault? Who’s to say it was theirs?
Who’s to say?

April 24th
As you grow older, you learn that life isn’t tough in the way you once thought it to be. Sure, finding a job and maintaining a steady life may seem hard But In the end, when you look back and see all you’ve been through, all that you’ve seen, felt, heard, thought, even tasted, you know you grew up to be who you’ve become. . . . Find that speck of light and hold it damn near your heart because one of these days, when your withering away, you have something to give to those you love and hold dear.

April 10th
The child awakens to greet a new day. The sun stares over the mountain waiting to once again rise. He bids farewell to the beautiful moon and gives her the gift of rest once more. The songs of the bird once again lit with passion and fervor. He goes outside the confides of his home The scent of flowers once again being carried by soft and gentle winds, elevating to his senses. And yet, bickering still ensues. Pointless and mundane fights. Battles with others and battles within himself. It’s days like these where realities can be shown to be completely different everywhere. Take this day people. Live it. Just a simple smile for this day can change a lot. Think not of petty struggles but of jubilant deliberations.
