More OC x canon, and it's actually a character I haven't talked about much [whoops] Tungsten is what I'd call "dragon-flavored" cause he's more of a conglomerate of dragon-related ideas i had, including gilded forearms and, well, Four Arms. I'd feel that he'd be head over heels for someone like Mercy, though, womans' not only smarter than most, but she's a very kind and soft person to people she's acquainted to, and he admires doctors already. hang on i wrote an obscene amount of concept stuff for them somewhere "Some base knowledge about Tungsten: He's gonna be the sweetest man alive to you, whether you be an acquaintance, a friend, a rival, or a lover, he does not care, he's more occupied with making sure that every person he meets feels better by interacting with him Hes not human himself, being seven different mixes of various demigods, muddles up into a long family line that ended up just being relatively strong magic casters Mostly though I just call him dragon flavored For this crack ship of an OC x canon, I'd say he's an experimental byproduct from a scientist who'd tried to follow in Moira's experiments, kinda failed at it, then left in the hands of an artic research base instead. He lives, hes surprisingly healthy, but man his physiology is whacked out. Eventually Overwatch [the in game group, the one Mercy's part of] let's him join in the science-y side of business, and he meets one Dr. Angela Ziegler, a Swiss-German doctor with an insane record of saving people, enough to have her be heralded as a literal guardian angel to some people. Tungsten is just himself here, the main difference is his empathy tends to get him into interesting decisions, and he almost got back into the hands of Talon, before Angela bailed him out, and they spent a lot more time with each other, where Tungsten became an assistant of sorts for her. He had eventually befriended her outside of work, and he fell first and just chose to be even sweeter to her. He has no clue if she reciprocates yet, but he's declared it doesn't matter to him, so long as he can be in her presence as friends or work colleagues, he's not picky about how that time is spent. She's kinda falling for it, and does enjoy his sweet side a lot more than she'd admit to anyone. She likes keeping her private life separate from her work life, but she's interested in a man who doesn't, who seems to show up at her office with a bouquet and coffee, packed with a homemade pastry and a lot of flowery words before he settles back into his own work, and the gifts are genuine, too. He prefers to give her gifts simply because he feels that this kind of woman should be praised much more than she is, he holds no intention to pressure her about his feelings, and he makes sure to clarify when he gives her such gifts. She's kind of falling for the treatment. "

royal margarine was the one reason i got back into cookie run kingdom, and I needed an excuse to make oc x canon more so yeah kinda had a thought of like, Royal Margarine tries REALLY hard to be suave, charismatic, a real charmer, but he's got that look to him that tells me he'd FOLD if someone did the same thing to him, just somethin about him there Unluckily Thumper's been alive for a majority of the A.D period of human history and has picked up a lot of tricks and flowery words, and Thumper is also a character that REALLY likes his men pathetic, so Royal Margarine is his Exact Type i have so many thoughts for dynamics and general everything and yet i CAN'T WRITE RAAGH i can draw though so at least there's that lol

here's a second one in that very same "i don't know where it came from" art style :D This one's Metheus I am having a blast with shape language and line depth, and it's been super informative, and it's been fun to just do completely on the fly

I might even try to do fuul bodies soon, but first I have to end up making my other characters as headshots to get a feel for them

First Lore bit, Vampirism and the Two Distinct variations Found

So, ever thought that having just one type of vampire was a bit boring? Well, then you have the same thought process as I do. And, apologies, but I didn't yet make any images or diagrams, so it's just a wall of text. Apologies.

First off, what are they classed as? Unfortunately, I'm not exactly creative when it comes to naming, so they're quite "literal" names, that being the Living, and the Not Yet Dead. We'll start with the living.

The Living Vampires are ones who had been turned against their will, or were taken by surprise and attacked. They did not ask for their rapid change or their newly found behaviors. Their turning process is one that takes a month or two, and, while not painless, at least not horrifically taxing. These vampires, when feeding, require the nutrients the blood provides to supplement them, meaning that humans are not necessarily their only target. They have often banded together to create their own hunting guild in various cities and states, and keep the wildlife population in check to clear their conscious of any human blood and to provide some merit of utility to their now dreary life circumstances. Their feeding cycles do vary, some vampires subsisting off of a hearty meal for months at a time, while others may require much more food over the span of weeks. They are virtually unkillable, except to three things. First, is purely concentrated holy power, being wielded by a select few who were divinely chosen. Second, is starvation. If you find a way to lock up a vampire away from any forest, or human civilization, even in their blood frenzy, you will kill them. Vampires, when not given enough sustenance, will shed their humanity and enter a complete survival state, gaining incredible speed, and enough strength to rip apart anything with their bare hands and teeth. This is, understandably taxing, and often will lead to a potential massacre if a vampire isn't careful. A massacre which they will not even remember. Blood frenzies like this can last anywhere from until enough sustenance is achieved, or until everything that has the scent of life is eradicated. Due to the insanely harrowing state a frenzy can leave on anyone, vampires were often perceived and hunted as monsters and pests that could raze complete destruction. The main way that vampires turn others, is by either failing to kill in a blood frenzy, or feeding and purposefully leaving them alive and using your own magic to bring their blood back by force. The latter is intensely painful for the victim, and due to the nature of vampiric magic, only ever done with a clear head on the vampires' part. There's not many Living vampires created with this method, since it's pretty fucking harsh. Key word, not many.

That's where The Not Yet Dead come in. These vampires are the more magic laden and magic created type, being not only willingly turned, but purely turned by magic. They're also as close to dead as a human body can be, just not yet rotting, thanks to magical influence. These vampires chose their life, and suffer the mass consequences of never being told what being a vampire entails. Not many people actually talk about the differences in vampiric circles, and there's a lot of prejudice from the Living vampires due to the nature of "choosing such a terrible fate". The Not Yet Dead type requires human blood exclusively, as human blood carries it's own magic and, in essence, a type of soul attached to blood. These vampires require the magic associated with human blood to live, having literal magic flowing in place in their veins. They're living taxidermy sculptures of people, of what they used to look like. They no longer require much of any kind of biological function, but they can subconsciously keep up these kinds of functions to feel more connected with what they used to be. More often than not, Not Yet Dead vampires were told all the good about a vampires' life, all the coolness, all the pizazz of being immortal and eternal, and got a much shittier deal about it. If they go for long bouts without feeding, they turn to practically statues, but trapped in their head. They still see the world pass by, they still retain the passage of time, yet they can't move an inch. They will die, but it takes a few years as the last of their magic fades. There are only a handful of Not Yet Dead vampires at a time, as all of the factors combined above makes the life and the turning extremely difficult, and not many people live through the process.

I've got two OCs that focus on these different kinds of vampires, and they'll eventually be given their whole archival dump. Just gott get that motivation.

[pt 4] Now we're onto just varied fun facts about him, and there's a damn good amount of em to give. Though, uh, I should start with a basic profile of sorts about him: His full name is Prometheus Soloveitchik, he's hovering around 84 lived years, his body has been stuck at around his mid 40s. He's gay, and will only ever have relationships with other men. He would have been married, though he's [for now] widowed, and resumes his husband dead. [his husband isn't dead but that's for, again, Eran's post thread. His husband is a 8 foot tall elf named Eran.] He hasn't yet moved on, and his relationships in recent years have mostly been one night stands, or shut down completely by Metheus himself before it gets anything further than friendly. He hasn't committed to anything more serious, as he still carries around his memory like a lifeline, and in recent years, has been coping with that crippling loneliness. Now here's the fun fact stuff :3 Metheus is a damn fine cook, being raised as kind of a Mama's boy, and continued to learn to cook long after he knew she died. He keeps a claw grip on his mother's personal bread recipe, even if it might be a pretty normal one. He's most proficient at pan frying or pan seared recipes.

He's a bit dyslexic, and curses the English language at every chance he gets because of how excruciatingly hard it was to learn it. 84 years of practice, and he can speak perfect English, but his writing skills leave much to be desired.

He still speaks Russian any chance he can get away with, never wanting his accent or the language to escape him, being the one last tie he has with his family and his birthplace. Because of such, he has kept a heavy accent on him, even when he speaks English.

Metheus has a natural scowl, but he's usually pretty content with things. He's not super expressive, though he is highly emotional. If he's drunk, he softens up an insane degree, acting more as a dad to anyone he meets and drinks with, and has an even more hopeful look on the world.

If he's stressed, appliances in his household WILL be disassembled and reassembled. He broke only one TV in the entire time he had this habit. He's a pretty decent engineer, just prefers to research more biological things.

He's considered a career in medicine.

While he may be immortal, he still deals with general life things, like needing sleep, food, and the other general things that you need to live, or else he risks a mild coma. [Mild in the sense of it lasts two or three days. He suffers no brain damage through these exhaustion spells. That's the Tumor for ya.] He, however, forgets this constantly until he's faced with the exhaustion of a man with three jobs, and regularly faints while at work for his landlord. He has tried to remember on his own, it just tends to escape him pretty often.

Metheus is autistic. [totally not a projection of my own symptoms cough cough]

Metheus is exceptionally flexible, able to bend his body in a way that makes most yoga instructors balk. This also means he forgets how regular people move, and regularly scares other people he works with.

Metheus was actually a genetic anomaly in his family, being 6'7" in his adult life, and a redhead in his teens. His family were mostly brunettes, and pretty short on average. His mother had to battle a good few affair rumors from it, but never gave him shit for it.

If Metheus were to be given a Spotify, he'd be listening to exclusively 2000's ish era "whorecore" music. It's a guilty pleasure kind of music for him.

Metheus will often sing to himself, but would be extremely embarrassed if anyone told him he does.

He managed to befriend his landlord, and will receive a good few care packages from her. Their friendship has stood a strong few tests.

He's drinking buddies with Mark [another OC, he'll get explained later i promise]

He once thought of being a dad, but that was before the workplace accident, and he quickly forgot that aspiration after.

First Round: Prometheus Soloveitchik

The first one I start with and the one with somewhat the most about him. He's got it all, a weird progression into OC status, a stolen name from an [I presume] Extremely obscure mobile game character, and one of the first OCs I spent the most of 2024 writing and to this day reworking slowly until now, where I was happier with how he is. And there's a Lot to cover. Like, he was the only one to get his lore written down, and it ended up in 5 pages of a story. This might just end up as a chain of posts, actually. For archival purposes and whatnot. So, let's just start there. First tidbit, and first in this timeline of creation: He used to not be a character at all, but rather a plot device in a roleplay. There was a character from an older mobile game I had stolen the look and name of, mostly staying as like a cliff note of a guy [this was purely done cause it was not a public roleplay and was entirely made between friends, and i was a bit lazy at the time and didn't want to craft a brand new character just for a one off event.] His tablet was more plot relevant at the time than Him. [That character was Metheus from Time Defenders, and he inherited the name] So, he used to look exactly like that Metheus from that game, like a body snatch type situation early on in that roleplay [pictured here:]

He then, further on, got more plot relevance in said roleplay, and so I changed and created his new, more recent design to actually make him a character and Not just a guy stolen from somewhere else. [pictured: my art and first concept:]

This wasn't the *first* thing I drew for this newer look, but it was the best "reference" I had that didn't show much [Current Metheus is a character that has a genuine and honest-to-god Hatred for most shirts and refuses to wear anything other than a beat up tank top that's pure cotton, and that's reflected in most of his art.] Now as for the character himself? His whole thing has to be in it's own text post cause I may have hit t he character limit HARD [there's 5 pages to that damn backstory and it is quite hard to condense]
