to the shadow banned anon, I got shadow banned not too long ago, and it was because I was writing the same or similar message to people during a short amount of time, so I guess I was viewed as a bot. Try making your messages different and reach out at a slower pace. After two or three messages wait a bit and then reach out to more people. It kinda sucks but that’s the only way I’ve noticed that could help.

it also zaps vpns immediately and you have to go through support to get unmarked as a bot (much harder now that the staff is reduced and it already took forever) but this may help people who are zapped bc of messages!!

21+ please! I'm super busy and replies will be slower and shorter, so I thought that would be perfect for a m/m 1x1 otome game inspired rp? Fcs can be from anything, or we don't have to use them at all. But I hate harems so this won't be 1 character x many suitors, and I don't double. The otome part is that the rp will take place through texting and shorter messages when they meet up, and focused on things like flirting, sweet messages, or some other otome type if you prefer (the dom, the artist, the rebel, the cutie, the romantic, the psycho, the disaster). I don't mess with tupper or creating social media for them and I don't have time for pinterest, so we will have to use our imagination.

So, basically, at least one of our characters being superhuman and that causing at least one of them to be unable to "physically transition" (the other can be unable to OR just have no interest in it, but I would like them to have that physical side in common) is a theme I can't get out of my head. I would love for them to bond over this. And why related? Because I love a scandal/shock/guilt/angst/forbidden love… And a built in lifelong friend/protector and thefluffy history… And possible shared trauma. I would love for our characters to be 28+ but I'll accept younger characters, and I'm willing to play MC as ycs dad instead of brother.

Y/C: hero, villain, or even an average bystander, superhuman OR just a normal human (bystander OR Batman style vigilante), ftm, bottom, either unable to physically transition or uninterested in it, he/him, bi or pan (or demisexual), and the rest is up to you! (Please no characters that ID as wlw, lesbians, or women, I really want to lean into ftm x ftm for this and for them to have that in common ❤) (ftm femboys accepted!)

M/C: top, dominant, masc, ftm, always wears a black mask + thick tactical outfit and a men's Kevlar vest instead of a binder (really leans into his alter ego due to dysphoria) (the super suit obscures his body and stays ON during sex), short and thick (thicc) boy with weapons and combat boots he actually uses for combat, superhuman after a poisoning gone wrong (or right?) (Think The Boys + Supe Serums) (y/c can be suffering physical effects and/or gain abilities from the same poisoning?), hero (or villain, anti hero, or anti villain: would love to make him at least a little psycho), regenerative abilities, super strength, tendency to self immolate when in dire trouble, loves weapons, hand-to-hand combat, communicates through psychic speech (no voice, just words in your head), slight pyrokinetic (if that's overkill I'll nerf him for you, or if you want him more OP we can do that), got into heroing (or villaining) because it's an excuse to hide his face/body/identity and live as an alter ego that's stronger than he feels like he is, unable to physically transition and angsty about it & does everything he can to present as male anyway, panromantic & demisexual.

Weaknesses: angsty, emotional, good heart/intentions, traumatic past, probably insane AND mentally ill, highly flammable probably, secret identity possibly will be exposed, at this point everybody knows he's trans & can't physically transition & he hates this (quick internet search is all it takes, outed as trans by a "hero" probably), probably anti social

Their chemistry: I would love for our characters to initially butt heads and end up working together, or we can just go the kidnapping route 💀 and have them eventually find common ground. They definitely bond over being ftm and aren't afraid to talk about it with each other (or at least get to that point). Also: because forbidden love: one or both of them doesn't know they're siblings (if one knows that can be a fun/dark angle) but eventually they both find out. Each had a long time crush on the other/were always super close but never acted on it, super loving/affectionate as sibs though, at least until m/c's dysphoria got the best of him and he stopped coming home at all (roommates+missing person angle?). (A built in plot here could be m/c as a villain, abducting y/c as a hero or as a civilian, because he knows who they really are to each other and it's an excuse to get close to or romance them (but he convinces himself he has good intentions): dubcon is an option if you want to get dark. )

Important notes: Villains that never go good or never at least go back and forth good/evil/grey just aren't for me. I respect it but it's boring to me personally. Also: despite his situation I would still like to write my character as a guy and not have him be feminized, or his physicality be focused on for femme reasons. I usually write cis characters and physically transitioned characters so I'd still like the same vibe of "this is still a masc guy". The allure of this rp for me is "let's explore trans superhumans", the irony/cost of gaining that power, and exploring a guy who is a dude but has these big issues with his body. Basically I just love angst and drama, he's trans for the angst and that's the angle I would like to go with.

So, if anyone is interested in this super specific/weird exploration of a bunch of wrong-angsty-dramatic things that can affect a supe's love life and emotional well-being, like or reblog this, and I'll get to you as soon as I have some free time!

Literacy, ooc info, and frequency: I will not be responding daily forever, I'll try for a response at least once a week but who knows. 3-4 paragraphs is good but I'm not strict. I try to avoid typos but they happen, and I do use text speak ooc. If you need rapid fire messages, daily responses, daily ooc, or a lot of attention, please don't respond. I try to be a good rp partner but I need space too, and an rp partnership isn't a romantic relationship (where attention is actually required). It's just writing fiction. ❤☺

i can second the shadow-banned thing. one day i could send messages, the next, i couldn't. and when i look back at my own ads (i like my own to keep track of them) i made this account because i was tired of not being able to send messages, i can't even see my own likes from the account !! be careful out there.

only way to surely circumvent this problem is to provide a blog name that people can reach you on. those who are worried about privacy can easily make a throwaway writing account just to receive messages from people

hi! i’m also someone who got shadowbanned on my main AND my side blog!! seconding this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your messages and respond to people. even if you’re not interested anymore, just say “sorry, i’m not interested anymore” so people don’t get flagged. it took me months to get unshadowbanned once, and it’s very frustrating

also doesn't hurt to check your messages and respond to people as well since tumblr is shadowbanning a lot of people now

for those of us attempting to avoid a shadowban, here are some of the rules based on my experience. feel free to add!

1. if you message more than two people the exact same opener within a set amount of time (cool down period still indeterminate right now), you will get shadowbanned on the third.

2. if you message more than two people an edited opener with the same LINK, you will get shadowbanned on the third (cool down period for this is somewhere OVER 5-ish hours, but I can't say exactly how long it is).

3. if you message over four people an edited opener WITHOUT a link, you will get shadowbanned on the fifth (not sure about the cool down period here, but it's definitely over an hour).

4. if you HAVE been shadowbanned, you can submit a help ticket to the support page saying so. however, THEY WILL NOT GET TO IT QUICKLY. there are people saying that they will get to it based on how old your account is, and they are lying to you. I had an account for almost ten years that was shadowbanned, and it took them SIX MONTHS to restore my messaging privileges. by then, I'd just given up and made a new account.

5. therefore, if you have been shadowbanned, the easiest solution is to remake. if you delete your Tumblr account, you can remake one immediately with the same email address and username. HOWEVER, this will show all people you were messaging at the time that you have deleted, rather than giving them your new account (I BELIEVE. please correct me if this is wrong!). you will also have to go through the Tumblr sign up process again, including following 10 people and 5 tags, which is very annoying. you will not have to verify your email address a second time.

this is what I've found so far in my experiments (being shadowbanned multiple times in a day and bouncing between emails). stay safe, everyone! 🖤

Okay idk if this will last but I notice the rp community is dying so I'm gonna help out by posting people's anonymous rp ads for others to find. Hit up my ask box. (Edit: you MUST be 18+ OOC, this is 18+ ooc for 18+ ooc only)

And the one thing that ALWAYS revives communities is dirty, depraved, shocking things uncensored. So bring all your most disturbing rp requests here (and your sfw wholesome ones too) and don't explain your trauma. Because that will slow down the community we're trying to revive and attract irl abusers.

Love it or hate it but you know I'm right. Sex sells, shock keeps fanfic sites thriving and just that shock is what gets some people finding their fandoms after initially going there out of morbid curiosity.

So I'm taking a neutral stance on everything and doing the dirty work few people are willing to do (shout out to those already doing this, I love you).
