I’ve seen a lot of bad sequels or seasons that have torn fandoms apart or pissed people off but I truly don’t think I’ve seen anything as bad as Mando season 3 that just quietly decimated every single circle. I think it had the opposite problem of certain fandoms where creators are too locked into/aware of fandom, it like… had no clue people cared? I guess?

Or the creators thought that we as fans care more about Star Wars as a whole than the characters that we’d been introduced to. I don’t know.

I just can’t wrap my mind around the disconnect they must have. They just basically said in 8 episodes, “don’t bother caring about this world or these characters because we can and will drop them for any reason.”

I even would have been ok with the show being 95% the same, if they pulled a reverse on The Rescue and had everyone banding together to save Din. But Din got caught and then immediately escaped because… why bother exemplifying the community Din built brick by brick in the first two seasons out of the ashes of his life. Why bother.

Assad Zaman: Just on a very technical level it took me some time to sort of hone everything down into a space where the camera can pick you up because I am naturally quite sort of gangly and a little bit chaotic and on stage when you embody a character, when you work out the blocking it helps and you can really sort of let go. But here I had to learn to bring that energy inside and do something that I hadn't really done before which was emulate that energy through stillness.

Absolutely amazing how AO3 is a part of the internet that doesn't sneak in any ads and doesn't have an algorithm and doesn't watch you or record how much time you spend looking at each fic or whatever. It's just right there to use for free. Legend
