thanks for making disventure camp a little more bearable for me during the tragic times of DCAS. you all were a great bunch, and i'm a bit sorry i didn't start the account earlier haha. thanks to everyone who has submitted asks, and especially to the named anon - pumpkin and crescent moon you guys have sent in bangers after bangers - and the emilyana cult - also started by pumpkin anon if i remember correctly!

this has been fun! now it is time for me to turn to actually well-written media. i have gotten back into sanders sides and it's time to dive into gravity falls after many years of putting it off. so, onto new adventures, and you can find me at @canonically47 if you still want to keep up with me :)

Redo because I wanted to edit a few things: I actually like how Alec and Fiore's relationship falls apart in Season 1. I don't really see it as shock factor (honestly he feels like the most predictable choice to be eliminated that episode for both in-universe and out-of-universe reasons) or as Fiore being turned into a one-dimensional character, but rather as the show's villain succumbing to her character flaws of mistrust and selfishness and choosing the game over her friendship with Alec, ruining it in the process. And the cracks in the image of Alec as Fiore's ideal father figure start to show more prominently as he ends up rather pettily throwing the words of her parents back at her.

What I don't like is how their reconciliation is handled. It's sped-run. It starts well enough. The first few episodes set up that there's a rift between them, but then Alec takes pity on Fiore and saves her from elimination a few times and then invites her to his alliance. And then nothing happens between them until the comeback episode where they're all buddy buddy with each other again. Is Alec still mad about Fiore's betrayal? Guess not! Does Fiore, who has a bad relationship with her own parents, have any thoughts on her friend being a shifty father? Guess not! It is utterly baffling how the writers did the bare minimum to get Alec and Fiore back together and I think most people agree that Fiore was wasted as a character.

So, for a rewrite, actually give them an arc where they make up and grow as people instead of shoving their relationship aside. Where maybe Fiore learns to value her friendship with Alec over the game and Alec improves in his treatment of children.

Emily's favourite kisses to give Tatyana are on the forehead, because whenever she does it, Tatyana's shoulders go up to her ears and she lets out this little "eeeeee" noise, which Emily finds adorable. in turn, Tatyana loves those nose-nuzzle, Eskimo kisses.

(also, whenever I write these takes, I imagine Mod Grett squealing and kicking her feet when she reads them. it's an excellent image and also why I continue sending these takes, aside from my chronic emilyana brainrot)

I rewrote the first two eps of Disventure Camp All Stars and I’ll eventually post the whole thing on my blog.

First off, Miriam is going to be replaced by my OC, Charleen “Chuck” Duong. Age: 25 She/They AroAce Vietnamese American. Black hair in a high ponytail and undercut, hazel eyes, black leather jacket, cargo pants, boots. In this AU, Jake and Tom had a form of healthy communication after Season 1, also Derek, Trevor and Emily won’t be appearing. Chuck is a minimum wage accountant in the Disventure Camp Office and secretly dislikes Kristal. She’s an aloof antisocial deadpan starker but observant when needed to be.

First things first in Ep 1, she completes the interview portion, and isolates herself from the other contestants, especially Jake who she’s sitting next to, by starting a coloring book. When they arrive at camp via parachute right after Riya pushes out Aidan, Chuck casually grabs a parachute and then pushes off the former before jumping. To her chagrin she’s on the yellow team w/ Riya, Connor, Alec, Yul and Grett.

Ep 2

Chuck manages to catch up with her team and compliments Connor’s Fire starting, ‘nifty’. During Yellow’s conversation, Chuck isn’t an active talker the whole time, due to starting the next page in her coloring book, to her “it’s for stress” but she does listen well with “Sketching is Drew and Tess’ job” hinting she’s familiar with the series. In a confession, Chuck answers, “I’ve skimmed the series online.” During the first challenge, Chuck’s wearing a rash guard and swim trunks over their swimsuit, cause they can subvert gender norms while being beach ready. During the whole activity, Chuck struggles defending her team’s goal, because of internal teammate distrust and attention span, but helps score some points with taking care of the goat for her team’s goal, her right hand gets bitten and they had to patch it up. Said challenge ends the same way with Cyan in 1st, Yellow in 2nd (Chuck secretly thinks they have a high chance of winning the next challenge) and Magenta 3rd with them voting out Fiore. No hate to Fiore at all but since in this AU Tom and Jake have a form of healthy communication at the start, it prevents James from having a Target on his back.

In all honesty and kindness I can offer to this show, they should've cut the amount of screen time for the interns and hosts. Even if they want the staff to shine, they could've of, I don't know, USE JENSEN!

Remember the mafia Jensen idea I had, use that or at least make the man want revenge at Derek, Trevor and Tom for messing up his plans/taking the money away from him so he messes with stuff at the camp. First, it was the tents. Second was the lights during the music challenge (which caused someone's elimination like canon but better), and many more things turned out broken or stolen.

Have him be hidden from the viewers, adding tiny hints to who it is and maybe at the finale or the second last episode, have Jensen attack the campers or hosts, holding them hostage for money.

Now, the finalists (and maybe a stray intern for some aus) have to work together to stop Jensen and win the game as well.

Also, make Tom more useful or at least show some intelligence like him noticing the strange things happening to the camp, believing that someone is sabotaging the show and he's gonna hunt them and arrest them (Show everyone who's boss!)

It could've been easy to try that (I swear, if someone leaks the fact that there was gonna be a Jensen cameo or something cooler than canon, I'm gonna eat the sun)

tell me how ONC got me choking up a little about a previously mid character–

mannn if they tried this hard with DCAS it could have been good. loved the first staff sorry but fuck, the actual show could have been so much better, the wasted potential is real.

also is it just me, or does Natasha look kinda like Emily? maybe, they used the same character base but I was honestly expecting something more interesting considering how different Jensen looks as a child.

Also, while some people are disappointed that Rosa Maria wasn't a competitor in All-Stars, after multiple seasons of Total Drama where characters kept coming back even after it was clear that being on the show was a horrible experience and that even the winner wasn't guaranteed the prize money, it's nice for someone to just say "No thanks, I'm good". Just wish that was in the actual show instead of on Twitter.

yeah thats my issue with some things, can you just tell them in canon instead of through greetings or twitter? whats the point of them being confirmed if a regular watcher wouldnt know them?

People want the show to explore Lake's attraction to girls, which is fine, but if you want to do that you need to identify a girl for her to be, well, attracted to. So maybe in Season 2 she has an unrequited crush on Rosa Maria.

i think emilyana is a sweet and sour ship.

Tatyana is the sweet one. most people love at least a little sugar, and that's Tatyana in a nutshell. she's silly and cute and whimsical, it's hard to hate her.

Emily is the sour one; an acquired taste, one you have to get to know and understand. something you have to learn to appreciate. not everyone enjoys sour, and there's all different levels of it.

the two of them complement each other perfectly, like a sour patch kid; the blend of sharp tang and softer sweet <3

ok this is a stupid thing to change but it's bugging me so much

so we all saw that ONC uploaded the entire DCAS season as one video right? The thumbnail is tomjake kissing. This pisses me off because it's a spoiler, and if you knew that they would get together in the end, it makes stuff like the tom-jake-aiden plot or the fake boyfriend plot even more boring cause you know what happens in the end. I would change it to Kristal or something.

I'm going to be silly here and say that I want to see a raging communist terrorist contestant that wants to win Disventure Camp just to prove a point.

She faked everything about herself in order to appear "marketable enough" to the casting crew; from faking her documents, to acting like a rich nepo brat, to even photoshopping pictures of herself on a date with a celebrity. I mean, it's not like said celebrity can prove otherwise, because this woman is blackmailing them for their involment in an huge money racket. This girl knows how to play capitalism by the rules and she's determinated to destroy the system from the inside.

So you see this girl that acts like London Tipton, but you can also feel something is off. All the time. She claims to be a delicate flower that never had to work a single day of her life, but you can see how much she loves getting her hands dirty during the challenges. She also loves to cooperate with others and instantly assumes a leader position on her team, even tho many of its members find her untrustworthy. But she tries to lead the team to victory all the time, so it's better to keep her close for now, right?

She would try to befriend Ellie and Gabby for sure at some point, but Ellie would just feel awkward around her, because this girl seems to represent what she will never have in a million years. Why would this weird nepo baby want to help her anyway?

This girl keeps her shoulders always covered even while wearing a bathing suit. People might ask her why she does that and she would reply that it's a brand tattoo the show wouldn't want to support...

She's actually hiding a Che Guevara tattoo. Bam!

She might give you weird life tips now and then, and you're left questioning if it's something people should know or not. You can't even tell if she's acting dumb or she's saying half-truths all the time.

"Oh no, you hurt your knee, pal? You can't see the bone, right? Oh, good! It's terrible when that happens...in the movies!"

Anyway, be silly, gay and do crime. Polaroid out.

Only good thing about the final elimination order in comparison to the first is that grett made it farther. When I said I wanted a villain winner, I didn't mean Riya, I meant Grett! Or Alec, but mostly Grett!

for as frustrating as this season was, I'm just glad all the characters I actually care about got happy endings
