Mushy May Day 4: playing with their hair

Tempest has more hair than she can handle, mountain helps.

Cumulus was the first ghoul to take pity on the new summon. long, thick wavy hair that was beautifully golden in the sun but was prone to snapping the bristles of the cheap hairbrush they got her before she was fully summoned. Cirrus and aurora always had thinner hair, hell cirrus could usually wake up and brush her fingers through it and call it a day. truly unfair to those who suffered more, like lus and sunny.

usually it could be tamed into something sweet and flowy rather than a frizzy mane. it was easy to throw up when she needed it off of her neck, sporting a thick pony tail with random pretty ringlets sorted through the other waves.

it only became a problem again once they got their uniforms. cirrus and aurora barely needed to make a bun low on their necks to hide it away for the veils, but when tempest tried she only got a knot that stuck out like a sore thumb from under the fabric. dew put his in a simple braid that was hidden by the balaclava the men needed for their hats, and swiss some how magically fit his braids into it without struggle as well.

“need some help moonbeam?” mountain appeared behind her as she sat at the dressing room vanity. his hair was braided back, a little sloppily admittedly but considering he was always behind the drumset, it probably didnt matter. he didnt even wear shoes most of the time.

“yeah i just- i dont even know where to start” tempest threw her head back with a frustrated groan, uncerimoniously shoving the hair brush behind her for mountain to take. he just chuckled, taking it and smoothing of her locks one last time before using a finger to part her hair down the middle.

“dont be upset, lus used to sit in front of her mirror for hours trying to braid her hair back so it would fit in the helmet, she made me sit behind her with another mirror so she could see her progress” He laughed. her hair sectioned easily, smooth strands laying flat as he tightly wove them to her scalp. he only learned after watching cumulus, figured it was easier for him to braid her hair than reaching behind her all the time. he did the same for dew, and eventually zephyr when ifrit was busy. somehow becoming the resident hair braider through the years, though mountain never minded.

“could you teach me then?”

“we need more ghouls who know how, swiss can but he gets distracted easily. though hes a fantastic teacher when he wants to be” mountain nodded. the first braid hung right in the middle of her back, tied off neatly with some cheap and soft childrens hair tie, the girls swore by them, said the elastic ones pulled their hair out. mountain also learned this lesson the hard way.

The other went with little fuss, only a couple of snags that mountain easily pulled through. Tempest relaxed into his touch the more he worked, her pin straight posture now slouching back like she was actually able to relax. she had been that way ever since she was summoned, similar to dew in that sense. almost soldier like, rigid and cold like she thought she needed to be as a ghoul serving the ministry. it was nice seeing her relax though, mountain was sure she would melt into the group shenanigans soon enough.

“youre good to go my love. just pin the braids up and theyll sit nicely under your veil” mountain pulled the container of bobby pins towards her. “ill try to teach you on the bus soon, whenever i can pull swiss away from phantom to help me”

“thank you mount” tempest smiled.

Little HC/explanation about Phantom's right eye under the cut :3

During Phantoms Summoning something went wrong and he ended up losing sight on his right eye.

With the help of his Quintessence Phantom still is able to see. However, because of that his pupil was replaced with the Quintessence Symbol, leaving him with a rather unique look, even for a Ghoul.

Since Phantom constantly has to use and redirect part of his Quintessence to his eye, he's weaker than the usual Quintessence Ghoul Power-wise though.

That doesn't stop him from causing mischief while simultaneously giving his best :3c <3
